DisneyFan.. awesome nick name and awesome upload. Thanks! I don't have anyting as good as all this 80s greatness, but I did find a whole box of late 80s to mid 90s VHS tapes. I'll be uploading various segments from talk shows, movie hosts like Joe Bob Briggs, Sega and Nintendo stuff, etc. If you want subscribe to get the updates as I upload them gradually when I encode them.
actually the go-bots hit the market first...but were considered very dorky compared to transformers...i was born in 84 but i know my robot history becuz my uncle beat it into me when i picked up a couple of go-bots on ebay...I took a wallop for spoons and a green cykil
Barbie Cosmetic Set! Now your 6 year old can look like, erm, Heidi Fleiss's Police mugshot. Those mini frisbees had all the aerodynamic lift of a lead ingot.
I can't believe what a huge deal the California Raisn commercial was at the time. I just flashbacked to what a crazy fad it was. My dad still has one in his fuckin office. Bizarre.
Okay. I want to make something abundantly clear. The GOBOTS were first not the Transformers. The Gobots were out a full year before the Transformers were. So that settles that.
Transformers were taken from two lines of Japanese toys (Optimus Prime = Convoy), but it doesn't matter which brand came first, GOBOTS toys make the Transformers toys look AWESOME!
I do! Yeah, it isn't better than Missile Command, but few Atari 2600 games are. Cosmic Ark tests your reflexes and it can be quite challenging and I find it fun. Sometimes I wish it was a little more varied though; it can get a tad repetitive. But then, a lot of old games are like that.
I can respect that...i prefer missle command, that game will get ya sweatin in the harder levels....its true the old games are repetative, but damn were they fun fo us.
Did the health craze ever cause a lot of succulent, sugary breakfast foods to go the way of the dodo. No more Crunchberries or Frankenberries or Fruity Pebbles or Smores Crunch. Gone are the days of four different kinds of Rice Crispies and stale marshmallow cut outs *sigh*. I'm going to go get a bowl of plain old boring Cap'n Crunch with no Crunchberries in it to drown my sorrows.
I think they still do Fruity Pebbles; they're just not advertised as much as Cocoa Pebbles. And Franken-Berry is only sold around Halloween (as are the two companion cereals, Count Chocula and Boo Berry).
We never got Boo-berry here in Canada, drag. I had a real twisted childhood living on the Canadian U.S border. I would see all these great items advertised on the U.S stations that we didn't have in Canada and get bummed out when my mom and I couldn't find them at the local grocery. Thank you for all of the memories by the way. Your video's encompass the most developmental stage of my childhood obviously as I remember all of the jingles.
@thegirl44 lol what about golden grahms with the creepy shaft sounding bear lol , i miss marshmallow rise crispies even cookie crisp is different eh cookie crook is gone now its some retarded meth head looking wolf lol

Even today, I still can't hear the song " I heard it through the grapevine"; without picturing the california rasins dancing around in my head.

They even had their own Christmas TV special too. I distinctly remember watching it.
Though I believe it was shown only once, since the fad died very quickly after that.

Ok..my two cents....
GoBots suck my thumb, Transformers are the real deal.
Stop fooling yourselves...Kudos are as bad as snickers.
Although I thought the California Raisins were clever, they were creepy as hell.
Fruity Pebbles kicked ass...but the little discs...not so much
Cosmic Ark sucks...we all know its all about Missle Command
My parents couldn't hook up anything to the TV to save their lives...LOL.
