@UcchaDarBabeNanakDa BS. read the rehat maryada. What does it say about meat. It says "kutha" meat. Which is ritually sacrificed meat. You fool do you think the khalsa armies were eating saag and maki roti when living in the jungles?
@UcchaDarBabeNanakDa no because It is against the Rehat Maryada. It is not about what sikhs want to do. It is what the hukam is. Have you ever read the Maryada? if not you should. If all meat is banned why does is specifically ban only sacrificial meat. Meat slaughtered in the muslim way?
@KillinDaWelfareMCs Being a vegetarian is not against the Rehat Maryada. Also, when I said sacrificial meant, I meant the way "you" prefer "for Sikhs" (not Halal).
Give me one line from Guru Granth Sahib Jee, Bhai Gurdass Jee's Varans that say that you can eat meat.
I can give you countless that say that you shouldn't.
@UcchaDarBabeNanakDa Sacrificial meat is meat that is offered to God to please God. This includes hallal and kosher ect. The way that Sikhs process meat is not sacrificial. We do not offer it to God to please him as per our undstanding of the Akals nature.
Why does it have to say you can eat meat? It does not say anywhere in the Guru Granth Sahib Maharaj, or the Varans or else where that you can wear pants, drive a car eat paneer, or soybean product. So are all of those things disallowed too?
@UcchaDarBabeNanakDa I can provide you with the correct understanding behind the out of context examples you present.
Humans have been in favour with God for millennia without having to be vegetarians, Jesus, Muhammed, the prophets of the west...all. None of them believed in vegetarianism. How did they become pleasing to god? Bahgat Farid was a muslim ate meat during his life! Bhagat Sadhna was a butcher yet you bow to his bani everyday! GHarGobindji was a avid hunter. Khalsa armies ate meat.
Guru Gobind Singh Jee (that's how you call them, not "GHarGobindji") "blessed" the animals.
Sikhs ate meat when they were trapped inside Quilas (forts) with enemies awaiting them outside, and when Sikhs were in jungles, sleeping on horse saddles. They were in a situation. Engaged to let the Panth survive a challenge. You're at home and sleep on a bed.
@UcchaDarBabeNanakDa blessed the animals? First of all. I am Talking about Guru Hargobind Rai ji. Secondly Are you suggesting then that the rest of Guru jis hunting party was commiting a Maha pap and Guruji just allowed it. Guru Ji did not hunt alone. Neither Guru Gobind Singhji not Guru Hargobind Rai ji. Infact Guru Hargobind Rai ji hunted with The Mugal Emperor. Are you saying Guruji facilitated his Sikhs&Emperor committing a mahapap? Or did the Sikhs and Emperor also "bless" the animals?
@UcchaDarBabeNanakDa So apparently no north american Inuit can ever reach to the Akal. Their diet is based on fish. There is no farming in the Arctic. God created a ppl who's diet is based on the sea just to send them to hell?
We know for a fact that Khalsa armies used Marijuana as medicine during and after battle. Apparently all those Singh Soormay Shaheeds went to hell too!
Reading this literally without context is like the quote about the buttered bread one By Baba Farid.
@UcchaDarBabeNanakDa Oh so every Gurdrawa in the world is sending the sangat into terrible pain because they serve chopri roti uh? Why do they do it? Why do you not eat dry unbuttered roti. Bhagatji has clearly stated that you are going to suffer terrible pain. Also he does not renounce meat here. You are adding words. Looks like meat eaters and eaters of buttered roti are in the same boat lol. I am being sarcastic. More proof Gurbani is not to be literally interpreted but read in context.
@UcchaDarBabeNanakDa u can't pick and choose to say ignore this bit about the buttered bread...but take literally the 5 lines in the whole of the 1430 pages of Gurubani about meat.
Fact is food is about nutrition, and nothing else.
@KillinDaWelfareMCs I did NOT take it literally. I did NOT say to eat 'kaatth di roti' and 'unchopri roti'. I did NOT take it literally. The shabad means to explain how to be content with what you have got, and not desire for any further worldly pleasures.
@UcchaDarBabeNanakDa You clearly know very little about it because you think I'm saying the Maryada says sikhs are allowed to eat sacrificial meat!!! WRONG!! It bans it!! And no...the ones who had Gurus favor are the ones who kept themselves strong for battle instead of starving to death. You have no knowledge on this topic. REad Guru Granth Sahib, meditate, read Bhai gurdass varans and the Rehat maryada...then perhaps you will be able to discuss this further.
@UcchaDarBabeNanakDa every one of these shabads have to be read in context as to who the author is addressing. Bagat ji here is adressing Muslims who sacrifice animals to God in order to please god. Everyone knows you can not offer anything to god which is already his. This is against the understanding of the very nature of the Akal Purakh.
@UcchaDarBabeNanakDa so killing living beings is always wrong? Too bad that Guru Gobind Singh and all of his khalsa didn't know that then! They not only killed animals...but brace urself..Humans too!!
@KillinDaWelfareMCs I think you should ask these questions to Gurus and Bhagats who wrote the Banis. "Hatya" is a kind of papa (Sin). Hatya is when you kill someone for reasons besides defense (and there are deeper explanations and definitions).
@UcchaDarBabeNanakDa Again...explaining to the person involved in ritual sacrifice that killing animlas to please god makes no sense if God is infact all in all. How can you offer a creation of God to God? Makes no sense.
@KillinDaWelfareMCs When did Halal being right or wrong become the topic of our discussion?
If Kabir Jee are mentioning a person who sacrifices animals the Halal way, how do you know they are not talking about Sikhs doing the same. It's the same thing to kill an animal, in any way. You're just killing it.
@UcchaDarBabeNanakDa Sikhs do not do it that way. Only muslims do. It is not the same thing to kill a animal. If it was the REhat maryada would not specify Ritually sacrificed (kosher, hallal ect) as being the only type banned, The difference is in understanding the potency of GOD. Muslims do not understand it because they feel God can be offered a goat to please him. We know God is everything hence offering God something that is already Gods makes no sense. That is the lesson.
@KillinDaWelfareMCs Kabir Jee say that killing animals is wrong, too, for whatever purpose. You're only subscribing to the part of the meaning that you want to speak about.
@UcchaDarBabeNanakDa This shabad is about being truthful. Guruji makes a parallel between lying and cannibalism to just show how contemptible lying is.

Dass heard on Punjab Radio that Singh Sabha Gurudwara in Northampton has some problems that need sorting out. Gurmeet Kaur Purewal was saying that "thugs are running the Gurudwara and that you can't tell if the Committee Members are Muslims or Sikhs". She also went on to say that "Priests are drinking, eating meat and doing Paath". Northampton Singh Sabha is making an enquiry into her alegations but they will probably chuck her out rather than deal with her statements on Punjab Radio.
@13punjabi22 You should be ashmed of yourself. What did he do to deserve this? Did he molested your sister? You cock sucking pig!!! No wonder your kind doesnt have a country of their own because you animals would torture humanity beyond limits. Not everyone is going to believe in your lousy philosophy. People ought to live their lives as they please.

Some Sikhs are mistakenly referred to as the "Taliban", however, calling these individuals the Taliban would be no mistake.

@rozeraseel1 I salute Devi's avatar Indira Gandhi for crushing these animals for demanding khali (EMPTY) stan. As its obvious people are not even allowed to live their lives as they please under these animals. SHAME on you!!!! These people are better off living under indian democracy where people are free to live their lives. Jai Hind!!
