  • Allah razı olsun :) bless god you

  • How is the quality of the on-camera mic? Is there a lot of noise?

  • @DEDStudios The on-camera mic is decent if you record audio in a vacuum. The on camera mic will pick up every single sound the camera and lens produces on top of wind noise. I suggest a rubber mounted mic like the Rode VideoMic or Pro, Sennheiser MKE400 or the AZDEN SMX-10.

  • @Canon1dm4 Thanks a lot, i appreciate it. Do you have any experience with the AZDEN SMX-10?

  • @DEDStudios I do not own a AZDEN SMX-10. I own and use an AZDEN SMG-1 shotgun XLR microphone with a Pearstone LMT-100 adapter. The sound is great for $160.

  • i been search far and wide for a video such as this!!!! i have a question how do you control the AGC????? do you go to manual and adjust the volume all the way up, some where in the middle or do you turn it all the way down???

  • @lp22hot AGC activates when you are in automatic mode in the sound menu. When you are in manual, you want to physically adjust the sound level according to the sound meters on the LCD display. In manual audio mode, the sound level will not "automatically" rise or lower to give you that "hiss".

  • @Canon1dm4 excellent excellent!!!!!!!! thank you so, so much for the respond my friend!!!!!

  • strange and enchanting , and no good as an audio test of the 5D,but thats ok,

My best results are ...decent mic into zoom....line out from zoom into 5d ... manual control of audio level on 5d all the way back down to almost nothing ...sounds great!

  • Horrible sound (hiss)

  • great quality which lens u used in this video ?

  • Just to give a heads up.

Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 works with native HD DSLR video. No need to render, convert or rewrap. Check it out.

  • @aJBprods

Your tutorials are great! I am playing around with CineForm NeoScene with CS3 PPro for the .MOV to NeoSceneAVI file converter codec. Buy NeoScene or upgrade to CS5 is the question? Hmmmm.....

  • @Canon1dm4 I think the overall speed and other benefits of 64bit and native editing makes CS5 the choice for me.

  • @aJBprods Tried NeoScene and I thought the whole transcoding engine and codec was a bit overpriced. I am definitely favoring the CS5 upgrade. I like the 64bit enhancement...

  • hi! what do you think about the video quality between MARK II and T2i?? it's pretty much the same , right?

  • Yes, the actual video quality is pretty much the same using the identical lenses. The only difference comes into play when you compare DOF. The full frame sensor has the advantage to throw the background out of focus to achieve dreamy bokeh and have true equivalent focal lengths from your wide angle lenses. The crop sensor has the advantage with lower price and crop multiplying factor to focal length for zoom range.

  • @bongbeltran I can't honestly tell them apart the T2i has a slightly higher bitrate compared to the mark II but only by 1 percent.

  • Yeah..I forget that on my 10.4.11 system in my other room, that I made a bootable copy of it to an external drive. I can always drag that drive over to my other computer if I need QUicktime pro over there...

Time to go to apple and start taking my free final cut pro classes....

  • Learned something tonight. I've been using conurus adapted zeiss lenses when shooting on my 5D, and without sharpening, the video simply looked soft. With sharpening the video looked sharpened, With the new software I'm going total manual with aperture and well, trying to get some kind of control of ISO in video, and the closed down F-stops have increased my sharpness so much that I may need no sharp setting at all..(17-35mm zeiss) No auto focus with this lens, by the way...

  • I use Nikon AF-D lenses with a Fotodiox Nikon to EF adapter also with my Canon HD Slr's. This combination yields a desirable look in certain situations. Yes, I find it difficult to focus in harsh lighting conditions and zooming in x5 or x10 makes the video sharper. Very hard to do when shooting wide open apertures.

  • I have not tried 24p to the extent of not noticing any difference. I will try to mimic your situation soon. Thanks!

  • The new firmware did not make the audio feature to intuitive. That is the steps I illustrated in the video. Access the menu in Live View Movie Mode and go to Live View settings. There the audio control is at the bottom selection.

As for the source, I downloaded it but it is too big to email.I do not have a personal FTP either.

The firmware bug has fortunately skipped me. Anyway, I never used the Custom Profiles to begin with but some people encountered total loss of audio completely.

  • thanks...2.0.4 out..and done.

  • well they have released a new one 2.0.4

  • Thanks for the heads Up!

  • i want 7D firmware for audio as well

    nice video

  • Is the white noise I hear from the welding footage playing on the monitor? Bad choice for an audio test.

  • I hope they update the 7D with the audio control as well. Nice vid. You plan on upgrading to FCP7?

  • I think everybody is thinking the same thing except Canon. They are in the mindset of marketing niche. They rather introduce a new model to stay competitive rather than improve existing ones. The 5D MII has no equal spec competitor for now,so they improve the firmware.

As for FCP 7, no hurry like Snow Leopard upgrade. Nothing entices me until there is some dedicated HD DSLR workflow built in other than just a plugin.

  • When you go snow leopard, and maybe already use quicktime pro, you will loose quicktime 7, and the default quicktime in snow leopard does not go pro for another 20 odd bucks. You have to look carefully at your install to find that sub menu that installs quicktime7. (Pro has come in very handy) Quicktime pro has let me edit very big video in real time.(sound added later) I learned the hard way, with many cracked apps installed after snow leopard, and unable to get them again with a re-install.

  • Not true, Quicktime Pro is now in your Utility folders. You will have both Q7 and Quicktime Pro. I just created a dock item for the pro and the 7 so I can choose which one I want easily.

  • I'll look today. Funny, even the guys at my apple store said I had to reinstall and make the 7 choice...thus loosing all logic 9, final cut 7 CS4....all for 200 bucks...I'll go check.

  • it must of been a software update since I last checked during the holidays. I will go check it out! thanks...

  • @Canon1dm4 Released March 19

  • The plug-in for the Canon 7D into Final Cut works real easy. Just released a few days ago.

  • I have been busy post processing pictures, I have not had the time to download and install the long awaited plug in. Thanks for the heads up!

  • Thanks! I was anxiously waiting for the video to be processed to HD and lo and behold there is already a nice comment!

  • nice!
