  • I didn't even realize that Dee Dee did SL back in the day. I won't take anything away from her, but I love Phyllis' performance.

  • Bruce Anthony Davis was one of the best dancers to ever hit broadway and created quite a legacy! He always felt he was chasing Michael Jackson, but his dance skills actually far outweighed those of the king of pop and Bruce unfortunately never got his just recognition.

  • This was mind blowing...OMG! <3 <3 <3

  • I love both singers Phyillis Hyman and Dee Dee Bridgewater . they are truly great artist. And Phyillis Hyman rest in peace, you are a angle.

  • Sassy Dee Dee....Luv it....

  • Gregg Burge is the name of the other dancer at the end. He died in 1998 of a brain tumor. You may remember him in the movie "A Churos Line" he played Richie. He was a truly great artest.

  • @sseaforth Gregg Burge was also the Choreographer for Michael Jackson's BAD Video. Such an awesomely dynamite talents .. both gone too soon. RIP

  • The video narration says that this was a

Bruce Anthony Davis's debut stage on tap dance.

At the time of premiere of Sophisticated Ladies, he did not pass an audition because he was not able to tap dance.

Therefore, for one year, I practiced hard and obtained the cast on Japanese performance.

  • I was in the audience of this performance. Great show. Powerful singing, high-quality tapping. Loved it. Greg is a tap-dancing god. Never thought I'd be able to see this again. Thanks so much for uploading.

  • I know the dancer guy at the end of this video his name is Bruce Anthoney Davis and he comes down to DATV and airs some of his greatest performaces like he did here and at the Tony Awards in 85'. he is very talented! Very honored to know him!

  • I'm a big fan of Bruce! He is from Dayton.

I want to know how he is now!!

  • I give her cudos to have nerve to try this after Phylis, however I think I'd pull this video. After Phylis, the play should have closed permanent, as this does not cut it.

  • Great but i prefer the version of Phyllis Hyman, without question. i knew at first the Dee Dee version and loved it. But when i have heard Phyllis version...well wow...wow...wow...Other cataegory.

  • So true. Dee Dee sings it well but there is no comparison to Phyllis version, Phyllis sounds amazing.

  • jaja ... ich spiel's auch grad' im orchester -.-

  • I have this DVD at home. Dee Dee Bridgewater has got an awesome voice, huh?!

  • Yes, my generation is getting old!

  • I'm a big fan of Dee Dee. Is the whole video still available in Japan?
