jackzmoviez: I hate their lord. 2000/1000 life, barely any good attack, and pathetic upgrades. Farseer of the Eldar Owns all. Eldritch Storm = Omfg. Alssadar: Atleast it's not DoW II Five pop cap, Tyranid units relatively weak. Tyranid's would be better in Soulstorm. But THQ said it would make them crap. @WolfytheWolf5667 You sir, are confused. You do not know how to play as the necrons. The necron lord Can be Fucking invisible, AND he can turn into the nightbringer. You didn't watch the whole video.
@CZProtton why was Captain Cato Sicarius able tho take down a shield wall of immortals with his command squad Lions Of Macraggre(i can never spell that last word correct :/) and i defeated a group of 30 necron warriors with 1 squad of 10 tactical marines but the nightbringer kinda killed them
@GRENTHSNOOB I'm pretty sure they're corpses that are reanimated by advanced suits of armor, making them, for all intents and purposes, robot zombies.
@durge666 They are necrontyr, they are old bodies that have given up there bodies for the god, there souls were put in the metal armor that they use, i forgot the name of the armor.
i just got the dark crusade, and i think the game is great. though, if i want a massive army, then i need to biuld like million things and upgrades, before i get to do enything cool, like bringin in the nightbriinger.
not with the powers the necron lord has, one of the powers (the on where it makes lightning) he could wipe out loads of space marines, plus the power to stop ranged weapons. =) and u cant kill night bringer no matter how much fire power. =D
Too bad they're the embodiment of everything slow. Slow walking speed, slow build time (even slower build time the more necron warriors you have fielded) slow deployment. That slowness tends to have them rushed early. And also the whole morale thing. Why would mindless machines have morale? And they're supposed to outnumber their enemies. Hard to do that when you have a low squad size and slow build time. Yes they can be resurrected to max out beyond the squad cap, but still.......
Yeah, but when i use em by the time i get one squad fielded my enemies has like, 3 or 4 squads? The fact that they need strategic points for their squad cap means i have to build scarabs first. Which is bad news when the enemy comes pounding at your door.
And by style, if you mean the way the Necron Lord brutalizes his opponents with his awesome sync kill, yeah i like it too. They are quite fun to use when they unlock everything. Its just quite a challenge getting there.
They have morale even in the table top. The logic is that "morale" for necrons is just them knowing when to make a tactical retreat. They dont really have any morale.
i would teleport out my necron lord if they sent squads of terminators. the nightbring is better for killing off other relic units or commanders, instead of multiple units which will waste its time.
I agree the tyranids basically have the same purpose of the necrons just without the unbelievable pro-ness And it says the outside is the only thing other than the hivemind to act from outside the universe so i dont think GW would say that and keep fans guessing,, Yes its a high probability that the hive mind is the outsider
possible yes,but why would they avoid his prison, hes trapped on a dyson sphere, why not free him???i have an interesting theory, that the outsider is the shadow in the warp, after munching a few chaos beasties, their essence gave him a presence in the immaterium.i prefer nids to maintane their individuality.
There's a catch, the Immaterium is anathema to the C'tan and their primary weakness. This is why their grand plan is to close off the Warp entirely with those pylons. If, and just if the Outsider was in that Dyson Sphere, there could be a simple reason for the Tyranids avoiding it. They might have sensed the presence of a massively ancient and powerful godlike being in there that cannot be digested. A simple case of risk outweighing benefit.
you see im confused here if the immaterium is anathema to them, please explain the pariah gene?chaos is pretty much useless around it and it was created possibly millions of years ago by c,tan, plus the only c,tan fatalitys ever recorded where inflicted by each other, the old ones and eldar couldnt destroy them.merely smash their necrodermis suits.even that corrupted khaine.
Well, the Pariah gene doesn't change the fact the stuff of the Warp seriously hurts the C'tan. Like the Necron Pylons, Pariahs are a weapon, and all weapons have their limits. Remember that a Talisman of Vaul put the Void Dragon out of commission for a while. If two or three of them had hit it full on... who knows?
That aside, even the Pariah gene can only do so much, especially since it's pretty rare.
merely wounded it,like you pointed out there, weapons have their limits and vauls weapons were flawed sadly the blackstone fortresses never did the job they were supposed too and vaul sucumbed to slaneesh but the c,tan are very much alive today along with the pariah gene which the imperium are currently using and as far as i can see is fairly active in 40k.
There is a reason the Deceiver is actively trying to destroy the remaining ones and find a way to cut off the Immaterium from the physical world. All we know is that the Void Dragon fled after being wounded, perhaps even crippled in a sense, by the Talismans. Can I say for sure those things can kill a C'tan? Nope, but the Dragon felt threatened enough to flee despite its necrodermis being more or less intact.
as far as im aware there is only 1 blackstone left and thats in the possession of the black legion,i think there maybe more to the dragon story than 40k are telling us,perhaps the c,tan are in cahoots with the emporer, think about it why put dragon on mars?influence the mechanicum? and also protect earth from another chaos incursion possibly?,none the less i respect your point of view.
One was rumored to have been destroyed by Necrons in the 13th Black Crusade, while the second's fate is unknown after it left Cadia.
According to the HH novel, Mechanicum, the Emperor may have put the Dragon there to start a technological society once humans colonized Mars. A society that could furnish the weapons and armor his army would need once he started his Crusade several millenniums later. I guess the Emperor really plans ahead.
Well, it's all up for interpretation and differing views.
yes thats correct, the deceiver destroyed that one,but its rumoured that abaddon took the second into the eye of terror but he doesnt know how to operate it.what gets me about the mechanicum book is the absense of the emps army when he confronts the dragon?which begs one to question the emporers true intent, hahaha yes he DID like to plan ahead, but i like to think the dragon is his ace up the sleeve,so to speak :) it would be great to see the dragon wake during a second heresy war.
the emporer took on a wounded dragon on earth,he beat him then banished him to mars, but he did say that the dragon was beyond even his power to destroy.bear in mind that was a wounded dragon he fought.
you are way of the mark, the outsider has nothing to do with "nids",thats just someones imagination getting the better of them.look prove to me other wise(which is impossible)as the idea was never "chapter approved" in case you are wondering what that means, its white dwarf writers speak.
1) the nightbringer was ethereal in the beginning but he had sentience,he did not take any form, then the necronteer communicated with these "ctan" and gave them the necrodermus "suits" to shape into the form they seen fit.though you can destroy the suit, you cant destroy the "ctan".
2)scarabs kind of act like ripper swarms but they are also scavengers/mechanics aquiring materials needed to maintain themselves and necron.
i thought that this was cool it waslike a film but when the necrons died she sohuld of used that orb thta would have been cooler and the monolith but that was really cool obviously the space marines won because the nightbringer doesn't last for ever he has like 30 secodns to unleash rage but then he goes back to normal... actually you can really tell because there was still a monolith.....ye the marines won.
Yea they would. A lot ot heavy bolter fire, those bullets explode on Impact. The thing unrealistic is the scarabs actually destroying the turrets, they cant destroy metal.
ohh , u just build a tomb spyder , u can create scarabs from there . there only use the hp of the scarab . so , after creating a scarab , just repair the spyder with a builder scarab ,
PS: if u build scarabs in Dow soulstorm , those scarabs can only attack flying units
The Necronlord can turn himself to a C'tan, a living god of the Necrons. In the game, you have to tech to Level 3 and upgrade this. It's very expensive and you can compare it with the Avatar of Khaine, the Baneblade, the Avatar of Blood, etc pp. They are the most powerful units in the game, of course he can beat a few squads of terminators.
dont you mean bloodthirster not avatar of blood and yeh a few terminators are nothing compared to the nightbringer...plus the nightbringer dosnt take damage but he's on a timer
ok this has anoyed me since i bought the game why do necron warriors and such have morale....... i mean they are living metal with trapped souls inside.... but it is maybe because of the need to balance the game play
I play necrons on the table top. The Codex sayes that necrons do not experience panic fear in the same way as human and other aliens but will retreat if cucomstances make in logical or proves advantageous. In other words they do know when there losing a battle but the morale from Dawn of war works different than that of the table top.
There actually not machines, They have C'tan in there armor and somthing else i cant remember that is that green stuff inside them( not in the gun though) its like the bodys of some other alien race that the Necrons are friends with and worship them so in return the necrons use them for power and armor :D
yes they are their souls is trapd inside a metal body by the c'tan he tricked them when he said give em enternal life he did things with theyr mind when they was converted to their new bodies and no they are cold blooded killing machines
the void dragon might be what made the tech priests build titans so that the dragon could take them and use them in there genocide of life in the galaxy making them unstoppable
there is a connection with the mechanicum, but only when the dragon wakes shall we see, also concerning the outsider, there has been some short fluffs on various 40k forums about him fighting and consuming chaos entitys as well as c,tan also possibility that tzeench and vaul tricked him as they fear him, check out his background he pretty much matches up to tzeench(taking care of the competition perhaps???)
the outsiders story is gonna be complex to say the least, but then again he doesnt play by the rules and physics of reality,so its pretty safe to say that this guy will be a force to be reckoned with,he wont need the aid of the necron footsoldiers, bear in mind where he dwells at the moment, time is alsmost at hand to unleash him upon the 40k universe.
my name is like 2 years old and i dont collecte these any more but i still remember how i would own my friends asses so hard with the necrons they wouldnt want to play anymore. i also wonder what a chaos necron would look like, thought its not possible.
ryan1258*your right about the eldar.apparently the necron are weak against the warp powers, though im not sure if thats wholly true as there are 2 necron gods yet to appear in warhammer universe*and 1 of these gods could have a connection to the warp.
tell me,why did the outsider go mad???they say its because he consumed his own kind,if this was the case why didnt the nightbringer go mad,its also said that he was tricked by the laughing god into consuming a psyker(if the later is true then it means chaos cannot destroy the ctan(but to the ctan consuming chaos is kinda like them doing intergalactic acid and freaking out, lol).hhhmmmm suggestions?
OK, well, the Necron used to be incorporeal powers, totaly unbothered by mortal life. Then the Necrotyr summoned them into corporeal form to fight the Old Ones, massive Pyskic powers. They did that, wiping out the Old Ones, but betrayed the Necrotyr, turning them into Necrons. They have no connection to the warp which is why they were perfect to fight the Old Ones. It figures that consuming something with a strong connection to the warp would screw them up. Eating someone who disagres with you.
thanks for reply,me and a group of friends do the "odd" article for "games workshop/white dwarf magazine",and we have been tinkering with the idea of destroying the myth of the "outsider" being connected to the tyranids,we believe that he has warp connections as he consumed a psyker(the tyranids deserve some independance, haha)the necron history is still only in its first stages as there is so much ground to cover with them,we trying to give them a lot more diversity than they already have.
I agree that the 'Nids should be kept separate from the Necrons. After all, one is all flesh the other all metal. Not so sure about the Warp connection tho. I like the Necrons as the soulless monsters they are, holes in the warp.
its not entirely true that they are soulless after all the deciever does have a sense of emphaty towards lesser races, not a trait that can be used by,lets say the nightbringer who would fit perfectly into your opinion of the necron, but i would like to give the other c,tan individuality away from each other, and remember its just 1 c,tan who will be givin some sort of warp connection not all of them.
When I said soulless, I meant the Necrons, not the C'Tan. It's not a bad idea to have one C'Tan with a Warp connection, especailly since that will A. Probably drive him/her/it totally bananas and B. Create an interesting conflict with the other C'Tan. I just think the Necrons themselves should be kept as the silent automotons they are now. They lose their character otherwise. There's also the Machine God. It's suggested that he is a C'Tan. Given that he's on Mars that could be a fub story...
yeah the machine god story is an interesting one, apparently its the void dragon who rested at some stage after the heresy(it is suggested that the great wyrm that gave ferrus manus his silver arms is the dragon but the thing im having difficulty with how did he/she make it to mars without arousing suspicion?could he/she be the revered omnisiah?will there be a civil war should he/she awaken on mars?how much influence have the c,tan got over the imperium???
I reckon the Void Dragon got buried on Mars right after the war with the Old Ones, meaning it was there before humans evolved. The Tech Preists made some (very) limited contact with it and built their techo-religion around it. At the moment it's still sleeping, so has no direct control, but since almost all tech in the Imperium is based on the tech-preist's models if it ever awoke then most of the Imperium would fall under it's sway instantly and it would itself be in spitting distance of Terra.
good theory in itself,im wondering how proportioned the dragon is,is it a laviathan?can it assume humanoid form like its said brothers?kinda like that t1000 dude in terminator 2,shapeshifting mofo with control over imperium tech.shit and they just uncovered a dominatus class titan(biggest there is)on mars.blimey.
Given the habits of th Tech Preist, turning themselves into machines and so on, I'd guess the dragon isn't human shaped. I would think he/she/it would be huge, pitch black (hence VOID Dragon) and look mechanical. Of course that would just be a favored shape, since form is more or less optional for the C'Tan anyway.
lol retarded the monolith did nothing. Maybe thats why its called the monoshit.

1) I thought the nightbringer was an organic being, please correct me if I'm wrong...
2) Do you thing the scarabs are kind of like tyraid ripper swarms...
:- D
tyranid77 2 years ago
1) the nightbringer was ethereal in the beginning but he had sentience,he did not take any form, then the necronteer communicated with these "ctan" and gave them the necrodermus "suits" to shape into the form they seen fit.though you can destroy the suit, you cant destroy the "ctan".
2)scarabs kind of act like ripper swarms but they are also scavengers/mechanics aquiring materials needed to maintain themselves and necron.

i thought that this was cool it waslike a film but when the necrons died she sohuld of used that orb thta would have been cooler and the monolith but that was really cool obviously the space marines won because the nightbringer doesn't last for ever he has like 30 secodns to unleash rage but then he goes back to normal... actually you can really tell because there was still a monolith.....ye the marines won.

the warriors wouldn't die that fast
halomaster342 2 years ago
Yea they would. A lot ot heavy bolter fire, those bullets explode on Impact. The thing unrealistic is the scarabs actually destroying the turrets, they cant destroy metal.
MasterofPainfulDeath 2 years ago
well ya but not like 5 squads and they would have killed more marines then that and then the turrets would get them
halomaster342 2 years ago
It was mostly the turrets. The space marines didn't have upgrades, heavy weapons ore sergeants so they could be much stronger.
MasterofPainfulDeath 2 years ago
ye and had there leader versus the necron leader

i got this game on holiday and im going home in 2 days i cant wait to play it.
can any one give me some pointer's?
stormseker 3 years ago
Upgrade your strategic points and relic points as efficently and quickly as possible.
Upgrade your monolith to activated status with a captured relic to get your mobile death pyramid on the warpath if your playing Necron.
I play Tau personally and prefer to blast the enemy relentlessly with the two Fists of Mont'ka hehe.
Moxy1976 3 years ago
what happened to the monolith in the backround at the night bringer?
adam95s 3 years ago
I love Necrons worship them... but it looked like they won't have them in dawn of war II... i really hope i'm wrong
pickledGOD 3 years ago
Nope, no Necrons in DoW II. Its just Space Marines, Orks, Tyranids, and Eldar. I had wanted the Tau to make it. That would be cool.
titanquestboyguy 3 years ago
They could possibly make expansions like DoW1?
Gabezen101 3 years ago
im sure they will be in an expansion for dow 2 after chaos most likely

hey can anyone tell me where to get scarabs in game? i havent played in ages and wont be able to, but i dont remember them being there?
Sideshow1111 3 years ago
@ Sideshow1111
Scarab swarms are spawned from the Tomb Spyder, at a cost to its health.
DannyBurgoyne 3 years ago
ohh , u just build a tomb spyder , u can create scarabs from there . there only use the hp of the scarab . so , after creating a scarab , just repair the spyder with a builder scarab ,
PS: if u build scarabs in Dow soulstorm , those scarabs can only attack flying units

I think those 3 squad of necron warriors would have been enough to take everyone out in the beginning of the movie.
lightningrevenant77 3 years ago 2
can one of em really fuck so many terminators up?
superbong666 3 years ago
The Necronlord can turn himself to a C'tan, a living god of the Necrons. In the game, you have to tech to Level 3 and upgrade this. It's very expensive and you can compare it with the Avatar of Khaine, the Baneblade, the Avatar of Blood, etc pp. They are the most powerful units in the game, of course he can beat a few squads of terminators.
Tosnoob 3 years ago
dont you mean bloodthirster not avatar of blood and yeh a few terminators are nothing compared to the nightbringer...plus the nightbringer dosnt take damage but he's on a timer
billybob78193 3 years ago 3
Excuxe me, I don't know the exact English names, due to the fact that I am German. But I guess we mean the same. ;-)
Tosnoob 3 years ago
ok this has anoyed me since i bought the game why do necron warriors and such have morale....... i mean they are living metal with trapped souls inside.... but it is maybe because of the need to balance the game play
atatyrknumber1 3 years ago 2
I play necrons on the table top. The Codex sayes that necrons do not experience panic fear in the same way as human and other aliens but will retreat if cucomstances make in logical or proves advantageous. In other words they do know when there losing a battle but the morale from Dawn of war works different than that of the table top.
Terrorkarel 3 years ago 3
oh :) well then their not only buching machines but smart buching machines
atatyrknumber1 3 years ago
There actually not machines, They have C'tan in there armor and somthing else i cant remember that is that green stuff inside them( not in the gun though) its like the bodys of some other alien race that the Necrons are friends with and worship them so in return the necrons use them for power and armor :D
Gabezen101 3 years ago
yes they are their souls is trapd inside a metal body by the c'tan he tricked them when he said give em enternal life he did things with theyr mind when they was converted to their new bodies and no they are cold blooded killing machines
atatyrknumber1 3 years ago
Nightbringer is awesome! It's an immortal killing machine but it turns back to the necron lord after a while.

the void dragon might be what made the tech priests build titans so that the dragon could take them and use them in there genocide of life in the galaxy making them unstoppable
halomaster342 3 years ago
there is a connection with the mechanicum, but only when the dragon wakes shall we see, also concerning the outsider, there has been some short fluffs on various 40k forums about him fighting and consuming chaos entitys as well as c,tan also possibility that tzeench and vaul tricked him as they fear him, check out his background he pretty much matches up to tzeench(taking care of the competition perhaps???)
chyper40k 2 years ago
AWESOME
knightlord12 3 years ago
the outsiders story is gonna be complex to say the least, but then again he doesnt play by the rules and physics of reality,so its pretty safe to say that this guy will be a force to be reckoned with,he wont need the aid of the necron footsoldiers, bear in mind where he dwells at the moment, time is alsmost at hand to unleash him upon the 40k universe.
chyper40k 3 years ago
my name is like 2 years old and i dont collecte these any more but i still remember how i would own my friends asses so hard with the necrons they wouldnt want to play anymore. i also wonder what a chaos necron would look like, thought its not possible.
Necronlord101 3 years ago
it not impossible, necronlord, they say the outsider has some connection to the warp.
chyper40k 3 years ago
oh, well thats cool.
Necronlord101 3 years ago
You wanna know Something?............Necrons blows hard....They can suck my SM Cock
Bubbles4534843 3 years ago
stuff you i play the table top version as necrons and they always win every battle
blackhunt40 3 years ago
ryan1258*your right about the eldar.apparently the necron are weak against the warp powers, though im not sure if thats wholly true as there are 2 necron gods yet to appear in warhammer universe*and 1 of these gods could have a connection to the warp.
chyper40k 3 years ago
No, see the whole point of the Necron Gods is that they hate the Warp.
GriffinPilgrim 3 years ago
tell me,why did the outsider go mad???they say its because he consumed his own kind,if this was the case why didnt the nightbringer go mad,its also said that he was tricked by the laughing god into consuming a psyker(if the later is true then it means chaos cannot destroy the ctan(but to the ctan consuming chaos is kinda like them doing intergalactic acid and freaking out, lol).hhhmmmm suggestions?
chyper40k 3 years ago
the c'tan the outsider ate there consious lived on and made him go insane
halomaster342 2 years ago
griffinpilgrim please explain?
chyper40k 3 years ago
OK, well, the Necron used to be incorporeal powers, totaly unbothered by mortal life. Then the Necrotyr summoned them into corporeal form to fight the Old Ones, massive Pyskic powers. They did that, wiping out the Old Ones, but betrayed the Necrotyr, turning them into Necrons. They have no connection to the warp which is why they were perfect to fight the Old Ones. It figures that consuming something with a strong connection to the warp would screw them up. Eating someone who disagres with you.
GriffinPilgrim 3 years ago
thanks for reply,me and a group of friends do the "odd" article for "games workshop/white dwarf magazine",and we have been tinkering with the idea of destroying the myth of the "outsider" being connected to the tyranids,we believe that he has warp connections as he consumed a psyker(the tyranids deserve some independance, haha)the necron history is still only in its first stages as there is so much ground to cover with them,we trying to give them a lot more diversity than they already have.
chyper40k 3 years ago
I agree that the 'Nids should be kept separate from the Necrons. After all, one is all flesh the other all metal. Not so sure about the Warp connection tho. I like the Necrons as the soulless monsters they are, holes in the warp.
GriffinPilgrim 3 years ago
its not entirely true that they are soulless after all the deciever does have a sense of emphaty towards lesser races, not a trait that can be used by,lets say the nightbringer who would fit perfectly into your opinion of the necron, but i would like to give the other c,tan individuality away from each other, and remember its just 1 c,tan who will be givin some sort of warp connection not all of them.
chyper40k 3 years ago
When I said soulless, I meant the Necrons, not the C'Tan. It's not a bad idea to have one C'Tan with a Warp connection, especailly since that will A. Probably drive him/her/it totally bananas and B. Create an interesting conflict with the other C'Tan. I just think the Necrons themselves should be kept as the silent automotons they are now. They lose their character otherwise. There's also the Machine God. It's suggested that he is a C'Tan. Given that he's on Mars that could be a fub story...
GriffinPilgrim 3 years ago
yeah the machine god story is an interesting one, apparently its the void dragon who rested at some stage after the heresy(it is suggested that the great wyrm that gave ferrus manus his silver arms is the dragon but the thing im having difficulty with how did he/she make it to mars without arousing suspicion?could he/she be the revered omnisiah?will there be a civil war should he/she awaken on mars?how much influence have the c,tan got over the imperium???
chyper40k 3 years ago
I reckon the Void Dragon got buried on Mars right after the war with the Old Ones, meaning it was there before humans evolved. The Tech Preists made some (very) limited contact with it and built their techo-religion around it. At the moment it's still sleeping, so has no direct control, but since almost all tech in the Imperium is based on the tech-preist's models if it ever awoke then most of the Imperium would fall under it's sway instantly and it would itself be in spitting distance of Terra.
GriffinPilgrim 3 years ago
good theory in itself,im wondering how proportioned the dragon is,is it a laviathan?can it assume humanoid form like its said brothers?kinda like that t1000 dude in terminator 2,shapeshifting mofo with control over imperium tech.shit and they just uncovered a dominatus class titan(biggest there is)on mars.blimey.
chyper40k 3 years ago
Given the habits of th Tech Preist, turning themselves into machines and so on, I'd guess the dragon isn't human shaped. I would think he/she/it would be huge, pitch black (hence VOID Dragon) and look mechanical. Of course that would just be a favored shape, since form is more or less optional for the C'Tan anyway.
GriffinPilgrim 3 years ago
yeah ive had this image of the dragon in my mind as being quite huge, and his colour being silver and starlight.
