She has an ideal hand position which looks so natural. An object lesson in perfectly developed technique. I'm sure Khatia has a glittering career ahead of her.
Seriously, if this is bad, then even abysmal must be rather pleasant. And, if a piece of music was meant to be played only one way, then one artist could have recorded this many years ago, and we could all just sit home and push the"play" button and keep our heads in the sand to anything outside of what is deemed right.

Do you really need to use so many fake names to promote Giorgi Latsabidze over Khatia Buniatishvili? Are you getting paid for posting this garbage? You're nothing but scam and trash. As for Khatia's playing, she demonstrates superb playing and great taste - in the best traditions of Georgian piano school.
It's Ok but I don't think she really understands Debussy! I think best Preludes of Debussy is presented by Giorgi Latsabidze. He recorded all of them from second book: here you find those on You Tube..))
@michaellugansky She doesn't understands Debussy ? Why ? I'm starting to work on this piece, I need advices ! Isn't the Latsabidze version a little rude ? there's nothing softer than Debussy...
too much rubato)))) That not what Debussy meant... I encourage you referring original manuscripts....1.42 It's just moo much rubato...besides dynamics are not quite precise accordingly on the score.. sorry!
@hindemthify Allow me to introduce you to the concept of I-N-T-E-R-P-R-E-T-A-T-I-O-N. How exactly do you know what Debussy wanted? Were you and he best buddies back in the day? You can't get everything you need to interpret a piece of music from the score...and what would be the point if everyone played every piece exactly the same way? What nonsense, I encourage you to familiarize yourself with the idea of Art.
just perfect... she is so talented.... looks from india... is from india? if is, an advice for india men: stop burning alive our women, retarded ignorant monsters, and let heres BEING, because are BETTER than you 1000 times
What are you talking about? Measures 8-9? How is using two hands a "bad tech skill", especially since it's specified in the score with m.d. and m.g.? She does it pretty well too.
It's correct what sagara89 said. Even if it wasn't, the fact of do that scale with both hands would be a insignificant detail if the musical result is good. Like my teacher used to said me (and i'm totally agree with that), "we've to adapt the technique to the music, and not adapt the music to the techinque".
Classical music is truly great -- right up until it starts celebrating...itself.

So whimsical... it's like a dream, like an "Alice in Wonderland" experience, I think that's what makes Debussy so popular nowadays. Splendid.

Walter Gieseking is my favorite piano player, and amazing impressionist. I've got his Ondine and i dont think that he played it any better..
Khatia is a brilliant musician.there is no doubt about it but, what strikes me about her, great understanding of music, love and her modesty:)

Great understanding of the French impressionism tradition. One of the best "Ondine" I've heard,
and I'm including Michelangeli, Zimmerman, Pollini and even Gieseking!
Congratulations, Khatia!

@klingsor93 I totally agree! beautifully atmospheric playing, for me on a par with Rubinsteins legendary account.
