when Earl speaks here about allowing and welcoming the confusion state he is SO RIGHT. God will not leave you there for long when you allow it. A peace will come to you that is indescribable; an easy-ness. Confusion is like a stock price that rises sharply and then "consolidates". (goes down slightly). Confusion, depression for the ACIM student is a "consolidation period". The price will rise again, it's guaranteed. ;-)
