I love my country!!! Viva Mexico!! All who wish to come I'd love to welcome you with arms wide open n most Mexicans will, take a chance, you won't regret. See Guadalajara as an option; so beautiful!
If you dont live in Mexico, you know nothing about it. I feel safer here than in some cities from US like Oakland. There I would be afraid!! Besides, don't stereotype the whole country, it's only the border line n it's only if u are involved in shit when things happen n not only in Mexico but anywhere in the world, so those that fear is for a reason
@mexicanabigotuda11 Creo que alguien de aqui esta resentido porque su padre Méxicano lo violo cuando solo tenia 2 años jejejeje...Saludos pequeño Sudamericano resentido.
The illegal immigration issues now are the final nail in the coffin for Mexican Tourism! Tourism was down as much as 95% in Baja California alone. I am 100% sure this will seal the deal and present a huge blow for tourism. These people do not respect the laws of the USA, Why should people go to Mexico??
but retards like you, and youre government too, i despise, you who dont see first in youre own homes, before making statements of this nerve... afraid of mexico...ya coward...let us be TRULY free, ... please DO NOT reply.
soo yeah you go ahead and stay in youre cut throat Wallstreet ruled Country, keep taking bits and pieces of every other country´s traditions to make one up for youreselves, at least we dont kill our own people in mass, to justify iraqs invasion (9/11 was saddly an inside job! open youre eyes! )at least are aware of our faluts, are you?... i love nice american people... and have absoultely nothing against them...
so yeah mexicos got to work hard on safety issues ( and they are) but what we lack in safety we have in Solidarity with our poor, giving them free health inssurance, free food free money, free lands, and so much help in every way that, its becoming the main reason Mexico is a Subdevelped country, and why taxes are so high...
I just say the truth. Mexico is really dangerous now, that´s why USA and Canadian goverment recently have suggested to not to visit this country. Mexicans make so much money with tourism, that´s why they will lie to you saying everything is fine. The facts are there and everything is clear. Don´t put your life under risk.
@adrianocerruti you know what? do whatever you like! dont come! please dont! youre not the center of the world you know! we dont need your indebted money that you have to pay for the rest of your life, maybe Mexicos north part of the country isnt the safest one in the world, but guess who the largest drug consumer country in the world is?, stop giving these crazy drug cartels youre money and maybe we wont have to deal with them...
@adrianocerruti The U.S. government said not to visit the northern states, if you kept reading the warning it encouraged the tourism of southern and central states. How I despise liars.
Mexico is the worst place for tourism. The city is plagued of criminals, drug traffic, gangs, smugglers, rapists, etc. So many tourists from USA and Canada were killed in the recent years in bars, discos and public places in Mexico City and also in Cancun. Criminals operate with impunity because all the authorities are corrupted. The government invest so much money in advertisement to show you Mexico as a paradise for tourism, BUT IS NOT. Stay away from Mexico, don´t put your life under risk.
@adrianocerruti This person shows nothing but ignorance and hate. Mexico is a developing nation, and most mexicans are working hard to make Mexico a better country in general. Either youa are from central america whose most people are jealous of mexican culture and progress, or you went to tijuana and something happened to you.
@adrianocerruti , excuse me, there s a difference between keeping safe and living with fear, there s a difference between mexico city and ciudad Juarez.
I recommend for caution do not go to acapulco or to the border with the US, but to Mexico City, Guanuajato, Oaxaca?? you can go there, if it were for people like you, so afraid and controlled by media, nobody would go to spain (eta) to the US ( ku klux klan), to Italy (mafia), tu russia(mafia), to colombia (narcotrafico).
I agree with you, but I don't know why people only see what happens in another country and they don't see around them, it is just luck, you can be in the wrong place at the wrong time. I am from Mexico City and I've always been fine there but I was once chased by a crazy drogadict in Montreal Canada and another one followed by two scary afroamerican men in Las Vegas.
Before you start talking shit about Mexico, you have to have in mind that not only because you had a bad experience when you visited this country, this means Mexico is a bad country. Yes we have lots of problems, and I accept it, lots of criminals, corruption and stuff like that. But apart for this, Mexico is a great country, with lots of amazing places and great people. Don´t judge the whole Mexicans just by the error of a small group of people. Remember that there is no perfect country.
I hear ya. As a Southern California resident I can tell you that from my experience in my youger days that Americans are not treated any better. A family friend was led to an ATM machine in Rosorito (not a border town) by the police and was robbed. YES .. .by the police. Once you cross that border... you are on your own, it's a sad fact.
Don't visit!!! about 20,000,000 people visit Mexico a year, but they are open mind and intelligent enough to know that like any other place in the world Mexico have bad things but also very good things to offer. Everything is relative and yes there is crime and dangerous places but tell me what place is completely safe
? don't you have crime in Canada? don't they shoot kids at schools in the US? come on!!! don't jus judge others.
I agree that things should be taken in stride. I also agree that Mexico has great things to offer. I never meant to take a stab at the wonderful people of Mexico.
On the other hand, I get intimidated to see drug cartels take machine guns into the streets to fend off police chases.
I'm also offended by the Mexican police unjustly charge Canadians with murder without any reasonable grounds, just to make a mystery scandal in a hotel go away.
Well you see it on the news, you don't personally see it, I can say I get intimidated when I see on the news a crazy young man killing students in their own school while they learning. You see this world sucks !! not only other countries.
There are isolated problems in both Canada and the US like school shootings. It isn't in fashion because the crazy idiotic teenagers haven't been chatting about in the chat rooms, so you're not seeing those these days.
But in Mexico, fake cab drivers that kidnap people for ransom, and drug cartels, street shootings, corrupt police officers, are regular business in Mexico.
I think the media makes people believe that Mexico is just about kidnapping, drug cartels and street shooting, but it is not everywhere and it is not as regular as you think, but I know I won't change anyone's mind what I am trying to explain is that in a lot of Mexican cities you would be safe and even more safe than in some cities in America. it is a big country! If you really want to visit, you can, don't go to border towns or dangerous cities.
I respect your fears and feelings and you should always follow your instint, I am telling my experience, I was borned raised there, all my family is there all of them middle class and up, and they are ok, but as I said we know the place we have common sense the same common sense I use here in USA when I go out, and believe me if I went to a bad area, I would get assaulted just like canadians in Mexico. Anyway, I wish you luck and it was nice & interesting to know your opinion.
Americans do not "hate Canadians". They're each other's biggest most important ally and trading partner. Sure there're a few oddballs, but far and away, Americans and Canadians do not "hate" each other.
There are things we might not like about each other, but that doesn't translate to the notion of actual "hate".
And I'd love to visit Mexico, but I don't think I'd feel safe unless I stay in or near the hotel.
And last thing I don't know if you know but there are places where both americans and Canadians retire in Mexico. !. is Chapala Lake, in Jalisco State, and San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato. They live there and love it.. and they do wonderful things for the community, they are treated with respect and have most of rights a Mexican have.
I think you're right about being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I'm sure that there are a lot of really nice and great places in Mexico. I can imagine myself on a beautiful property on a hill near a beach with snorkeling and boating, and Paella restaurants with great local music, with wine and port and dancing and fantastic locals that like to see how you are, sit down, play some chess, bueno this, muchos that, dos cervezas porvavor, etc.
Cancun might be the place, it is safe, beautiful, food is awesome, nightlife is great !!!! and you could visit Chichen itza, which is one of the 7 wonders. and believe me it is very, very far from the border towns and dangerous places and the best part, people is very kind and You would feel welcome.
The only 2 dangerous cities are Ciudad Juarez and Tijuana. The rest of the country have as much crime or less than some cities in USA (in bad areas) but it is usually drug related, groups against groups and the police trying to capture them. My family and I visit every summer Mexico City and Guadalajara and I have never seen anything. I see you have the interest to visit so I would probably do it. . Check Cancun, Ixtapa, Huatulco or Cabo crime index and maybe in the future you could.
Why do some people just think of Tijuana as being 100% dangerous, not a place to visit? Oh, you believe every word of the news. Tijuana has the highest literacy rate in Mexico, highest income per-capita, a ballet company, symphony, excellent university...yeah, real dangerous!! I have been to Tijuana many times, no problem, so much more to that city beyond the lame tourist zone with all of the bad stereotype things. Most Mexicans are very kind people. Explore the real Tijuana!
Most gringos who have retired to places like San Miguel & Guanajuato, have driven up prices for buying homes, driven many locals out of their own cities due to rising prices. True that some retirees have been generous to these towns, but most of them refuse to learn Spanish, nor embrace much of the Mexican culture & customs. They are just there because it is cheaper than Florida and Hawaii. After 28 years of traveling in Mexico, my observations are worth reading. (I speak Spanish too).

I'd like to say that you're right, but you're not.
The federal government of Canada actually says that Mexico is the most dangerous place for Canadians to go to.
"More Canadians were assaulted in Mexico than in any other destination."
China is the second most dangerous.
Cuba third.
I'm not making this up. This is according to an actual government run investigation report.

Sounds inviting.
Strange to see conflicting reports though. Surely, that warning report I quoted from the Canadian government isn't about people visiting border towns.
Also, drug cartels are about drugs and evading the law, nothing to do with tourists (other than the ones looking to purchase drugs of course).
