I'm not sure how you can say that it's hard to start form nowhere since that is what every religious person has had to do in the beginning. I mean, when you are born you don't understand the concept but your parents/guardian, whomever, helps you learn it. Either way, I don't mind not being religious and I don't tend to think that "it sucks" that I'm not. As you said, I strive to be a good person and that's all that matters.
As for the rest of the video, I'm Catholic, so I feel I can confidently comment on this:
God doesn't make mistakes. God made you the way you are on purpose, we are all given our 'crosses' to bear, this is yours, and you'll be a better person for it.
Think of it in that, you'll have earned everything you're working towards, you'll be a better woman for it.
Also, if you feel the need to believe in something, perhaps paganism might be worth looking at. You being a biologist you might find something in that arena that works for you. At it's root to be pagan is to worship nature. . .
I have actually looked into paganism and some of its offshoots like discordianism or wicca. I'm not sure about any of them though. My therapists says that she isn't really religious, in a sense, but that she believes in a sort of life force and karma. She's a bit of a hippie so I see where it comes from. I don't mind being without a religion, it seems to work for me. I don't know though, it's complicated.
Thanks again for your other comment. I accidentally hit remove instead of reply! Sorry about that. But I think we all feel like we don't look very good when we dress and all that, its a personal thing. Most other people don't see it that way.
We need to bring TG issues into the education system as a required class to take and not just talk about it in health books for 2 pages or whatever it is. It is time for people to start learning about the way these types of things actaully are and a chapter in a book isn't helping anybody. You are in a college what about talking to them about starting a class on it. Obviously you still need to do a lot yourself first, but I mean down the road. you seem cool enough to do it.
The more society sees people with certain traits about them the better we all are. Hating yourself and such just adds fuel to the argument about TG people not being right and needing to be corrected. Even if you found religion, that would only make becoming a girl much more difficult because then you would be denying yourself due to beliefs structures and being unhappy. You aren't really hurting anyone by doing this and the only reason why people frown upon is because of what others will say.
You would never have an understanding of the situation you are in now and might have ended up thinking that TG is evil and so on. Now that you are going through all of these experiences you can sympathize with almost any kind of emotional torment because you have felt such powerful blasts of energy and so on yourself. You now have better chances of reaching people on a deeper level and seeing things hidden within them.
This is why some people hate the transgendered because they think it goes against gods will and is just wrong in gerneral. I know it is annoying to feel a certain way and to think why couldn't I just have been born the way I want to be, it would make everyone's lives a lot easier. Just think about if you were a biological girl, you would not understand the pain and such that other people with a similar problem go through.
Yes it is rather retarded how people put all this faith and say that there are no mistakes. I guess what they mean by god being everywhere is from the belief that everything was made by god. Since god made everything, therefor it is everywhere and when you meet someone who cares about you, that means that god is showing his love. Also god puts people on difficult paths to make them stronger. I am not religious myself, but I will make a second post because I am running out of characters
Religion is a man made thing and it's based on a point of view
Don't look at it like you've lost anything you've just changed your perspective or broadened the angle on which you view life.

That's a good way of thinking about it. :)

Also, it kind of sucks you don't have religion in your life.
But it's hard to just start believing out of nowhere.
It's more important you just be a good person, anyway, and from what I can tell you seem to be doing a good job.

Any church that rejects evolution is just stupid.

Just curious. . .and completely off topic; where does your cleavage come from?
Plasibeau 3 years ago
Well, I'm about a full A cup to begin with but I use some padding to help me out a bit. The bra I use actually makes the cleavage more-or-less. :-P
