  • very good, the only problem I have is the balance between the ensemble. at 1:17 i felt that the french horns were struggling cuz the band was a little too loud and the same thing at 3:02 where the the high woodwinds were completely drowned out by the low reeds and brass idk could be just me

  • Nice full sound considering the size of this ensemble.

  • This song has one purpose: to destroy lives. Don't play it. You will be scarred for life.

  • GO CLARINETS!!! me first chair playing this in band... i think its this one...

    ... middle school

  • My youth ensemble sight-read this piece, It was a giant, amazing, spectacular train wreck XD IT WAS AWESOME :D Clarinets 20 measures ahead, Im 2 bears behind, Ahh, It twas fun :D

  • it was good, but the ending would have sounded better if the note was shorter and louder :)

  • i think Ranchview played it better last year.

  • Rs una de las melodias celtas que mas me gustan

  • such a long last note?

  • no offense to the kids who performed this, but i'm a middle schooler, i'm in a full orchestra of only middle schoolers, and we sounded ten times better. this groups sound is getting really muddled. at 2:30, the flute is playing too loud, and overpowering the melody. and at 3:00, its really muddy. and that last note. what the heck is wrong with those kids! do they have lung disease that prevents them from playing loud? jeez, learn what fortissississimo means (thats four f's)

  • @amgokan First, this is a high school quality recording. You can't hope to compare your live experience with your band to a youtube video recorded with high school equipment. Second, if you're comparing your band as you took part in it and this band as you hear it, that's unfair as well. Listening to music while doing nothing and to trying to listen while you're playing your own part are two completely different experiences. problems could have existed within your band that you didn't

  • @amgokan (cont.) even recognize because you were too busy playing your own part. Third, learn what "fortondoando" means, because THAT is four "F"s. not "fortissississimo".

  • isn't there supposed to be crash symbols at measure 51?

  • We played this for UIL this year. We had a 33 piece band and I was the only tuba. And we pretty much sounded exactly the same as them. :)

  • No one should care who's band is better. Music is music :)

  • great job. we r playin this for our concert next week. hope we can do as good as u!

  • THISS IS AWESOME!

DONT LET NEGATIVE COMMENTS FOOL U!

  • our school is doing that this year for concert MPA and it sounds amazin! its such a fun piece to play! =D

  • @denae2468

"not trying to brag or anything but I'm soooo blessed that I'm amazing and these kids suck."

  • Nice. Really nice. ( :

  • Comment removed

  • Amazing. It looks like you cut back the numbers a bunch, or have a higher band for the better students. The only way you can achieve such quality in a high school.

  • @denae2468 well, your band may be above average, but i'm afraid your spelling is not.

  • Hehehehe! I love the Clarinet solo x3 It sounds so playful :D Amazing Job everyone! :D

  • @trumpetbeast998877 Sooooo..... Do you want a cookie or something?

  • @WarFact I actually would right now :D

  • @WarFact dont give him one because hes full of shit

  • @trumpetbeast998877

you didn't actually do that though

  • @fooburger98 We actually did :D

  • I've played this on both Eb and Bb clarinet and you did an excellent job with this piece....it is one of my favorites being a clarinet player..

  • i feel SOOO proud that im in a freshman band and we sound a tad bit better than them! our teachers always told us we were a more advanced band than adverage but i thought they were just saying that because we were their students! haha i guess they were being truthful. (not trying to brag or anything)

  • this high school is just too good

  • Loved this song!

  • Excellent clarinet tonguing technique...keep up the good work.

  • I LOVE MOLLY!!!!!!

  • Gah, why is the sound only coming out of my left headphone? By the way, very good job, guys. I'm also in the band that those people down there are in.

  • ....the sound is only coming out of my left headphone too...weird

  • Same

  • I really like this song :)

We might do it for UIL this year, I'm excited

  • You guys need to stop fighting you are making the band above look bad. Cole, stop acting like you're better than everyone else, and Eugene watch your language.

  • Yes thank you all for your ignorant comments on my video.

  • sry i just realized that. you can delete them you know that right?

  • I know how you feel. Same shit happens with my band videos -_-

  • Sorry about my bad bandmates. Anyway, Your video was great! It's looks and sounds really good, not like some of the other band videos out there. So Kudos to the cameraman. As for the band itself, I'm slightly biased. This song is just so cool I can't say anything bad against it. So, nothing obviously bad about what they were playing. Great Job!

  • Wow totally awesome. Our jr high band did "Shepherd's Hay", and "Rolling Thunder" last year and this year we are gonna do this song. I'm the Baritone saxopyhone. Do you know if there's any difficulty for bari sax in this song cuz i want the hard parts.

  • Nothing hard for bari... Like usual. No solos... Nothing. Just think.! You won't have to sound good. Well, you will, but it'l be less important than me sounding good.

  • of course cole

  • i mean i don't hear any alto 2 solo except maybe the small soli with the euphonium, is it? well even if there is a solo you wont be playing it, steven will :) Well at least my 1st chair at region gives me confidence. i'm pretty sure that i'll get to play along with the bass clarinets at 0:45

  • wait wtf yall have ONE tuba????? it sounds like 2-3 wow

  • Yeah he's a 2 year all stater. Hm. Maybe 3. I don't know.

  • @bitchdonteatmycheese that's all you need two tops. makes cleaning up the music way easier.

  • yall are really amazing. theres like barely any mistakes. good balance and good tuning. im impressed

  • i remember this song in HS. I played Upright Bass on this......hardest song I ever played on an upright, but so awesome once you get it down.

  • Really oustanding performance, guys. The attack, bite, and rhythmic pounce are perfect.

  • DANG.

  • I think this was actually written for a wind ensemble (military band...etc) The recording isn't great, but it's a recording. I think the ensemble did a FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC job on this. Real talent and dedication in this organization.

  • Wheres Newman Smith High? This is really good.

  • ha.. i love this song! we're playing in our string orchestra...

  • Very encouraging to hear work on this level performed by a H.S. Orchestra in this day and age. I thought this kind of thing had succumbed to Rock and Roll years ago.

Thank God that's not true everywhere. This is very good.

  • aww we played this for phil orchestra this past year... it sounds really interesting on wind instruments.

i think i prefer strings...maybe just because i play strings lol

  • This song was a real bitch to get right but the band got it in the end, it was great :D

  • @saltystuff I know what u mean this song is hard to put together and it looks easy on paper but with the tempo and the inner stuff going along with it makes one the hardest pieces i have played

  • we're playing this in strings

  • this song is espically fun if u have the pleasure of playing the Eb clarinet. some of those notes should never be heard outside the supernatural

  • this is version is not very good. I can't hear the melody. The harmony is too strong

  • i actually agree with you.

  • brillante musica. impecablemente escrita.

  • this is a sweet song but hard if your a clarinet haha I played the solo trumpet part.. it was sweet times

  • or a flute :D

    it is some CRAZY stuff.

  • @heythereDaphnee yes it is... it is super-fast and somewhat high..

  • I'm playing this in a concert in...3 hours. and of course i get the pleasure of playing piccolo. yuck.

  • wow. that sounds amazing! i used to play the first part clarinet but no way was i as good as the one playing.

  • Our band played this at CARNAGIE HALL and i got the soli :)

  • we just played this yesterday (sat. 18th) at Bass Hall in dallas....its no Carnagie but i still though it was cool

  • I play bassoon and were doing this for my all state band i cant wait to play it

  • Do you by any chance live in Nevada? I was in percussion for all state. I liked the piece but I wish the perc. part was more exciting.

If it helps picking out what I did I played the pedal bass drum on wild nights (if you were in the NV all state...)

  • yeah yeah i was the bassoon player that had th nice looking bassoon different then the black one and the won with all white tip and yeah you did lvwyo right?????

  • Comment removed

  • ha cool and yes I did lvywo but I sat out for about half of the songs because I never got first pick (and thats basically what it was for us rofl). I played chimes on gavorkna fanfare which was really the only exciting part I had :/.

Did you have mayne for honor band?

  • no i had brim the person only out of state. but the concert last night was amazing we were great

  • thats a shame el camino real was a great piece

and yeah we definitely did a lot better than most people seemed to expect

  • oh i know for only being together for 3 days and what we sounded doing the day

  • i play bassoon too! and this was one of our songs we played this year. it's so fun

  • not bad

  • I want to play that song!

  • dannng. :) very nice. i know the clarinets in our band couldn't pull it off.

  • Comment removed

  • i love this song. we are going to sight read it next week in class.

  • This is an awesome rendition for a high school ensemble... nice work!

  • my high school just played this piece for our winter concert, it's extremely hard, but very fun, nice job

  • This is probably the best performance of Molly on the Shore that I have ever heard. Simply wonderful.

  • There's a version done by UNT that's better. This rendition done by a high school is very good, but UNT's is better.

  • This is high school?! You guys must work VERY hard! Kudos to all of you! To make such a difficult piece sound good at the high school level. Bravo!

  • I LOvE THIS SONG!

I play it in Orchestra but there are only 10 people in my orchestra so its nowhere near as impressive as this

  • Wow, Victor and John are super amazing, there going to be something when they become older with there abilitys, that they have now

  • awesome clarinets. :D

    great job

  • Damn that was good - awesome job clarinets! Great job everybody - woot!

  • This is an inCREdible performance for a

    High School band. InCREdible!

    REALLy a nice job there.

    Really nice.

Your director knows what he is doing.

The TUNING, the MUSICALITY, the inner

"voice" of the piece - EVERYTHING.

    EXCELLENT work!

  • intense..

  • this song is awesome. Our band director decided 2 hav us sight read this for fun. Good luck clarinets was the last thing he told us

  • and then all the clarinet player's heads blew up?

  • we felt i like it was goin 2 but it was soo fun

  • that was a really good pace! that bass clarinet player needs to play louder because they are really good!!! that soli is hard!

  • very nice!

but the quality and timing is a bit off

  • OK - I don't mean to be rude, but seriously,

you must not have been listening.

(Unless you were simply being funny.)

Also, you may have noticed -

this is a High School band - (sounding

    a little slightly like pre-Eastman

    players).

  • Yeah whoever says we played it fast, we are playing it how it's supposed to be played.

  • Yes -

    you are.

    ( :

  • that is how fast it's supposed to go. he is going almost exactly at 120 bpm. count 1 one thousand, 2 one thousand if you don't believe me, and you will see that he is doing right around 2 beats per second, aka 120

  • It's not extremely fast. I played this in a 9-10 grade band (1st alto). We were fairly good.

Not to say that they aren't good. Because they are.

  • wow they're taking it extremelty fast

  • its actually more like 112 - 120

our school is playing it this year, and we're taking it at 120 bpm... no lie!

  • dang

I need help on playing this song, I need tips for the alto part, what is the tempo? is it d=80,90, 100? Cause im trying out for my schools wind symphony

  • 195bmp when played 4/4 rather then 2/2

  • I'm playing viola for this song and I like the solos the best. Very nice performance.

  • Very polished performance for performers this age. Hard work shows - congratulations.

  • Brovo! Very well done for a highschool. I know of some college bands that would not have pulled it off this well. And good job to the first clarinetist as well as the bassoonist.

  • my band is working on this piece for a january concert and this is excellent work

i play saxophone and i would kill for that 1st clarinet part

  • yeahhhh, 1st chair clarinet is nothing but amazing!!!

if you say otherwise you've got some issues.

    =]

  • such a great song for band, and played incredibly well! our hs played it for our last concert, just not quite as fast :).

  • I STILL can't believe how good this is for highschool!! KUDOSSS

  • your dumb

  • haha, uh no he didn't.

  • I'm playing this song in my orchestra, and I'm so excited. I play the viola, so for once I actually get the melody--and what a melody it is.

This is played really nicely, and yes, the clarinet are very, very impressive. The violas in our orchestra are almost at the tempo, but not quite. We will be in a few weeks, hopefully.

  • This is superb for High School..actually well above average! I majored in music (clarinet) and my high school band NEVER played anything remotely close to this. The clarinets are clear and concise and the entire band seems to have rhythmic accuracy which is a must for a piece like this...bravo for a job well done.

  • this is actually ridiculously well done.

most of these HS band performances

    of graingers stuff is..shit.

but this is very decent in comparison. =)

  • Those clarinets are great, definitely up there on a high school scale. There are only a few things that could be improved. The organizing of lines by matter of importance is important in this piece. Some of the flute and high clarinet parts are very loud while the melody is supposed to be with the trumpets for example. The piece overall is a little on the loud side, but still sounds very light which is a good thing. The last chord should be short in my opinion. Everything else sounds amazing.

  • This piece is really difficult but they really pulled it off. Props to those AMAZING clarinets

  • Wow. Those clarinets are beasts! So is the piccolo player (that's my part). We're playing this at like 85 beats/min..!

  • YouTubeで色々mollyを聴きましたが、この演奏が良いですね。最高!!

  • VICTOR OWNED THAT MOLLY!

  • i love grainger. love it.

  • my school is playing molly too! you guys sound good it slowed down alot @ measure 19 w/ the low reeds. btw your marching band owns.

  • wow i thought i did ok on this performance but i sound way better than i thought

  • victor you own lol

  • NSHS Clarinets= freakin' beasts!!!

  • w00t ilove my hero

    :]
