The are going over viewer feedback about the HD switch. Depending on the acceptance of the graphics and theme will help with the changing decision. If there is an overwhelming amount of people that want change, that will happen. People want it to stay how it is, it will stay how it is.
Unless thery asked him to re-record all the V/O lines in HD, a lot of voiceover artists will record with HD Mics when asked, and I'm sure NBC5 didn't ask him to do HD Audio recordings back when they updated their O&O graphics.
WXIA uses Tower V3 for all of their newscasts, so the morning cut is also from Tower V3. WKYC (another Gannett NBC station in Cleveland) does the same thing.

They are most likely updating graphics and theme when they make the switch back to studio 5. I'm being told the graphics weren't originally changed for the HD Switch because the blue graphics(Not told exactly what, WNBC maybe), didn't fit well with the sets the have in place.
That's good. I know here in Cleveland, WKYC (NBC) had transitional HD graphics for a little bit. I hope WMAQ switches completely to Tower V3. It's amazing to hear every morning and evening.
I loved WKYC when I watched it when I was in Cleveland...im going to NBC 5 to watch the 10pm...was there for the 4:30 and 5 tonight...its like a war zone in the control room and everyone seems pissed...just saying lol

Yeah I was wondering about the morning theme open. I kinda liked it vs. the normal open. I found it odd that they used normal music for everything else. I liked at 4:30 when Bob was doing the "One More thing Segment" he used the sports set and it said sports, made me laugh.. The evening newscast so far were a little sloppy audio, videowise, and just all around. And, maybe they'll use the Tower V3 for the Morning Stuff and MOrning Cuts for everything else.
I'm glad they changed their open yesterday!

Is WMAQ getting the new Arthouse graphics? I hope it would have a color scheme more suited for their blue theme (versus KNBC and KNTV's new graphics).
I liked the original HD bug too, except that you could hardly read the time and temp.

Why doesn't NBC 5 do talent opens or talent rejoins? I don't hardly know for sure who anchors what newscast with news, weather, or sports...
