Please can you explain the automation and sound delay a bit better? I don't get that delay sound despite exactly the same settings. Likewise my automation is all over the place...!
@EPsoundds Sidechain compression. Copy your kick track to a separate track, mute it and sidechain your synth to your muted track. Google sidechain compression and there's hundreds of tutorials :)
@EPsoundds add a compressor at the end of your signal chain on the synths you want the kick to duck, then side chain the compressor to respond to the audio from your kick track. turn down your threshold and turn up your ratio on the compressor for plenty of gain reduction when the kick hits. :)
Hey, I wanted to thank you for working on all these tutorials. I have learned a ton. When you have a minute check out my track I just posted, I utilized many of the ideas learned from you're tutorials especially the complextro. three track is voodoo, by Dolese. Thanks again
so i understand what the macro does and all, but how do you make the "1" knob turn up on its own. is it in automation clip? im using fl studio so it might be different...
@JMayzler usually right click on the control and create automation clip. There is a way to link controls that don't have that option but i forget how. Its something like enabling an option then moving the control you want to automate but i cant remember what option.
@JMayzler Go the the "menu" inside of the VST (this is working in all vsts) and then choose "browse all parameters". Then it will open a new menu in FLstudio (where ya library is at) look after macro something something and then right click that and "create automation" Woop Woop you are done!
@JMayzler in FL Studio you need to move the knob around and then go to a drop down menu in FL (outside of Massive) and select "last changed parameter" or something like that. I can't remember off the top of my head but it's something like that. Google that.
@JMayzler You have to make editor note then find the exact name of the automation then right click and find create automation clip. Just look up how to make massive automation if this didnt help
hey ryan. I fucking love your tutorials, they helped me out soo much. I have one question. do melodies have to sound "happy" (some dur scale I guess) when Im making a complextro track? I created a melody that doesnt really is upliftig or happy and I have no idea how to make a build up with that melody. do you always think of happy melodies when you make your tracks? thanks in advance
@R3KLESSiN303 I use FL and I would recommend it to ANYONE. Seriously ;). Heaps of people don't think it's that good but trust me it is good. It was rated the number 1 daw by Music Radar. And it has lifetime free updates to all the new versions of FL, most of the other daws don't have this, Ableton included. In my opinion, you should get FL, but that's just what I think ;D
For all the Massive Users....Does anyone Have the Occasional "CRASHING" of your programs when you Load it? i looked up this particular issue which it said to Delete a File in the directory....Which i Did and it was fine for a while but then started crashing again...anyone know how to get rid of it for good?
What notes are you using for that sequence from 0:58 to about 1:00 which you then play throughout?? and how did you get that sound? amazing drop by the way!! nice work keep it up!
In your tracks on the left... track 28... how do you get that sound? that disgusting grimey "yow" sound? Ive been trying for ages with m-Talk etc and its just not getting the sound youve got here! help me please!
@RossHildick3D Massive VST: OSC 1 PWN WT at .5 and route completely to filter 1. OSC 2 and 3 off. Envelope 4 (ENV 4) crank level all the way. Put a Performer on tab 8. In Filter 1 use Lowpass 2. Set the Cutoff to just under 1/4 (I usually sit around .013), and leave Resonance alone (it should be pointing straight up at the .5 position). Now go back to your Performer tab, link it to your filter cutoff and turn it up to where the green goes basically to the halfway point of the knob.
@RossHildick3D That's PWM on OSC1, not PWN.. lol. ALSO, make sure "Sync" and "Restart" are both active in your performer, the ratio 1/(whatever speed you prefer).. and as far as the performer itself, mine sort of looks like waves for the "yuhyuhyuhyuh" effect. Click on "load curve". For the first box, second row third line (looks like a forward slash with some curve to it), second box first row fourth line. Looks like a backslash with curve. Repeat.
I just noticed a lot of artists add in white noise to fatten up the drop. In massive I'd add white noise to the synth but I like how it's separate here so you can add separate effects to it. Thanks man!
i know this is a really stupid question but how’d i turn the other two oscillators on when i make a default/newsound? thanks to however answers this :)
nzmusic please you that are able to create song, i will ask you if you can create a tutorial when you learn how to create while electro house song step by step.. can you make that? thanks!! ;)
