  • What do you mean by *Remaining* there are lots of then so why do you say that?

  • @clagghead There is rumor that they will vanish on this line more and more. I just read it once in the Railway Magazine. Don`t know any other details. Sorry. Please correct me when it is not true. Thanks.

  • @railwaylive Yes, most of them have now been replaced with the Class 175 Coradia Train. I've seen more of these trains (158 Super Sprinter) moreso around the Shrewsbury to Cardiff areas, and Birmingham New Street.

  • @railwaylive Most Holyhead services are 175 Coradias nowadays; however a 158 was working the Brum service yesterday.

  • @mocyoung Thanks for your comment.

  • @railwaylive No probs. I prefer working 158s (and 150s) to 175s. More room for my trolley*; plus those older units have more character and soul than the modern French/Brummie tin boxes that keep catching fire.

  • Plus the refurb'd 158s have plugs, whereas the 175s don't.

  • @mocyoung This proves once again, not everything that's new is good.

  • @clagghead most of them have gone to northern

  • I normally prefer steam trains, but I like this video. I know, also, that Holyhead is a ferry port - it replaced Swansea on the B + I ferry line as a terminus from Cork, (Ireland). Thanks for the video :)
