  • i lapped my true black and messed it up abit, if you dont get it right the first time you run into problems! make sure u watch lots of instructional videos first :)

  • Ah, sounds good. Finest I could find around here was 1200. Kinda bummed me out, but as far as I'm concerned I'm happy with the job. :)

    Yeah, I would never ever think of polishing my cpu. I mean, nobody's going to look at it after you put it in, right?

  • I had to go to a auto parts store to get the 1000 & 2000 grit.

  • Nice job! What grits did you use? And was it a wet or dry lapping?

  • Thanks. Started with 200 then 400, 800, 1000 and finished it off with 2000 grit. I didn't use polish as some people do and I don't recommend it.

    Flatt is better than shinny in order to produce better contact and cooling.
