The guitar weeps as though it's singing it's own melody.
I love the sweat that just streams down Chris' face - so much passion and devotion.
This is one of those songs that the whole world needs to sit down and listen to all at once - come at rest and peace with everything and just think about that one person - that one person that keeps you breathing.
I couldn't agree more... The world, the universe slows down just a little bit to listen to this song every once in a while... it doesn't get much better than this moment.
With songs like this I really wonder how X&Y turned out so poorly and how songs like "Green Eyes" made it on to Rush of Blood. This is so much more moving...
It's just so average and the lyrics on it are (mostly) awful. The lyrics here are excellent and the delevery convincing, niether are true of the songs on X&Y with few exceptions.
I guess more than anything I think Coldplay works best when they keep it simple, like this song. When things get overblown (see X&Y as a whole) they get to be rather "blah".
Square One's best moment is the coda, which is back to Chris and acoustic guitar (everything else is just texture in the background) and Til Kingdom Come is also in their simpler style. Talk and A Message are both largely unremarkable, imo. From what I'm seeing of the B-sides I'm pretty sure there are two Coldplays: The one the record company likes that we see, and the one making far more interesting rock that we don't...
I can talk for hours about this, but in sure a part of me agrees with you. Their B-Sides seem more heartfelt and personal, but I know Coldplay loves to rock crowds. Personally, I like both sides of them. And as long as they continue to show both, I'll never complain one way or another.
i love this song!!

This song is absolutely tantalizing.

I'll see you soon...

I see your point, but you can't deny songs like Square One, Talk, A Message, and Til Kingdom Come. Their simpler style is quite breathtaking though
