I recall seeing "Red Car" for the first time on a video jazz profile of Art some years ago. It was an instant hit with me and a fabulous example of how downright funky Art Pepper was. Great player, great artist - wish I could have seen him live.......

This used to be my hangout in the late 70's. It closed down because of too many landslides on PCH. It was an absolutely fabulous place. I saw Art there once after he arrived about 1 hour late. When he got on the stage, someone in the audience said, "You better be good." Art took off like the Concord. He was amazing

I think people (like me) were expecting to see Art play. A little disapointing. Hence 3 stars.
