So i can use my m27/48(By far my favorite Rifle of all time...I can do almost superhuman things with that piece of wood_ in the highpower class? Or would i be better off picking up a 30-06 or .308 mossberg rifle?
@MikeW259 Of course, you are always better off buying more rifles! I'd shoot .308 or less, and probably in the 6.5 range. Those seem to be the best bullets and loads these days. 6mm is getting a lot of attention.
California needs to get rid of Diane Feinstien and then maybe it can get its collective head out of its bottom. Andrew, well done, I'm proud of ya man!!
Nice video. But if I may say somthing about his position. He may want to put a bit more back lean into it. Just to get the center of mass of the rifle closer to the center line of the body. Also the six oclock hold is hard to do in offhand, he may want to try sub six or center hold.
AR 15s ARE legal in California but THIS one wouldnt be because it would be an unreggistered assault rifle. I am a member of the junior team here and use an AR15. But i have a bullet button installed.
Good job. its nice to see some good dads are still out there like myself. That hats causing all kinds of problems he's fighting with it sits to low bumps his site now and then.I had the same problem as a kid all the old timer use to laugh until one gave me a bonny hat and flipped the brim Ausi style and told everyone else to help or shut up.LOL good old days
You really don't have a clue do you? Step away from the video game and learn something about firearms. Take a look at a Camp Perry match. I guess all of those shooters "never shot anything with real power"
This year, 2008, at Perry I talked to one of the California Juniors about their predicament. She said they practiced with coaches that were LEOs, or shot on Military bases where it had been decided that California State Laws "didn't apply". She said SHE didn't have an AR15, since it was a felony for a person under 21 to possess one, California compliant onr not. She said: On the military bases rifles are "made available." At Perry, all the California Juniors had and shot normal rifles.
AR-15s are not illegal in California. Certain listed manufacturers are "illegal" and there are ways around that, called Off-list lowers. Californians have to somehow modify their AR-15s so that they do not have "assault weapon characteristics" (known as SB-23). We do this either using what's called a bullet button, monsterman grip, or U-15 stock. We do the same for AK rifles too.
@opensourcelinuxm Yes, but these AR15s are NOT Califonia -legal- they are normal National-Match AR15s....illegal in California, especially for those under 21.
@Blackfork6 Again, it is not illegal for ANYBODY to possess a California-legal AR15. There is no "especially for those under 21." If you are over 18 and it's CA-legal, you may freely possess it. If you are under 18 and it's CA-legal, you may possess it in the presence of your parent/guardian (just like in most other states...) What makes you fucking think that you know more about CA gun laws than somebody who has actually lived in CA for the past 20 years?
@opensourcelinuxm OF COURSE it would be legal for someone to possess a CALIFORNIA-LEGAL AR15 in California, with a button-push mag release, et....but these are NOT California-legal ARs being fired, therefore they would not be legal in California.
@Blackfork6 Since you didn't seem to catch it the first time, I'll repeat myself. My issue was with your "especially for those under 21" bit. That's just plain made-up. Being over or under 21 has *NOTHING* to do with our rifle laws. Feel free to bash California but please don't spread misinformation.
Wonder if you use reloads or Match ammo (Federal,Hornady, or Remington Premier)? Ammo is getting more expensive. Is match restricted to only Factory rounds. I want to get into competition but Factory is so- freakin expensive.
Almost everyone is using reloads. Just too expensive otherwise. Any centerfire round can be shot in highpower. Shooting in Servce Rifle class with an AR means you need to shoot 5.56. Reloads fine.
Fun stuff. I compete as well in CA. Love me WOA upper. Not to nit-pick but where's the safety glasses?

Yes. You would be in the Match Rifle Class, not the Service Rifle Class but you can use it.
How about clicking a couple of ads to help support this video. Makes a big difference!

Cool video, but I don't appreciate the misinformation in the video description. AR's are perfectly legal in CA. Get your facts straight.
