  • Oh hello! Have you thought about - fast abs magic (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? Ive heard some decent things about it and my cousin got detailed 6 pack abs and lost lots of belly fat with it.

  • I am not trying to start anything here, but when i got into the projects(i have friends and family there) and I see the parents of these "poor" black kids, they are driving a way nicer car than I am, with their rims costing more than my entire car. My point is, their parents need to stop wasting money on "phat whips" and spend $15 a month on internet, spend $100 on a functioning com. And as far as access to libraries and such. Every city I've lived in has what is called public transportation.

  • I love the Young Turks, but they are wrong when they suggest that inner city children (particularly in Philadelphia) do not have access to technology as the author of the article suggests. Comcast offers high speed internet for $10/mth to poor families in the area, and you can buy a fully functional used computer for less than $75. I teach in the area and most poor families simply do not take advantage of this opportunity; in contrast, many own expensive cell phones w/the data plan to boot.

  • @jps79 its a classic case of the world making excuses for them.

  • Poor Black kids just don't join gangs.

  • It was a meaningless reference. He IS perpetrating a stereotype that a black kid is the face of poverty.......A stereotype that The black community LOVES to flaunt in the face of people when faced with adversity. How they never get as much as anyone else and how poor they were and how bad they had it. You ever think its just the first thought that came to his head when poverty is brought up because THAT IS the face of poverty fed to us by the media white and minority alike? ...he spoke true

  • @malinko493 and... He's a white male. Duh!

  • I see 0 value in this article. Wow, if you want to work your way up you need to work hard? Big whoop. Just some racist trying to seem PC & smart.

  • The dude was giving good advice but was ignorant about some of the factors of inner city life. But cent never talks about trailer trash that don't live anywhere near a library

  • Well, if I was a poor black kid, I would.. Oh wait, I was a poor black kid. Never mind.

  • @g0dh4x And????

  • Spoken like someone that's never been to a public library. Public computers have administrative blocks, that means no installing third party software. And you can only be logged on for a limited period of time.

  • i hate assumptions. my teachers do that. almost ALL of my textbooks are online (i do however, go to a Dodds school). but still, what if your internet sucks anda whole lot of other stuff. one of my teachers gave me a cd to download the textbook onto my computer! C'MON! i bet half the students at my school even have a computer... assumptions are stupid...

  • @cupcake30001 From my expirance home school is the best. I been to all three but with my homeschool you can do tge work whenever and sleep all day but you do miss your friend but you can play sport at your old school still

  • @roomes22 (bro fist)

  • private school rocks

  • TYT is strawmanning what he wrote way too much. When he wrote that they should use the web and computers he did so on the basis that people from all income levels have access to these things. He didn't just pull it out of the blue.

Obviously he wasn't aware that his framing might get him in trouble, but his message is accurate nonetheless.

  • Cenk mentioned his father but his father had a great advantage over poor American students: Universities are free in Turkey.

  • Race has nothing to do with this, there are tons of whites also struggeling in poverty.

  • who cares about this shit

  • This article wouldn't have been a problem If he didn't use the word black in the title. Why did he single black people out? As a middle class black guy, I'm disappointed because it perpetuates the stereotype.

  • @roomes22 Pointing out the truth isn't a stereotype. This is the very thing that is keeping black people down. Black people are doing the WORST. FACT. Facts aren't racist, they are just facts. We need to stop being hypersensitive about the truth and start figuring out how to change the situation rather than complain about some guy giving out practical advice and making an issue out of it as if its a negative thing. No MORE playing the victim card. Move on. This is coming from a black man.

  • @tharemedybeats I agree , we live in the most diverse country on the planet, yet we have to watch out tongues like 1940s Germany. People are so afraid of hurting someones feelings.

  • @roomes22 ...You are right...He is perpetrating a stereotype....A stereotype that The black community LOVES to flaunt in the face of people when faced with adversity. How they never get as much as anyone else and how poor they were and how bad they had it. You ever think its just the first thought that came to his head when poverty is brought up because THAT IS the face of poverty fed to us by the media white and minority alike?

  • @roomes22 no racism... just statistically black americans are in poverty more often than white counter parts... not sure how latinos stack up but my guess is somewhere in the middle

  • Its all part of the ongoing absurdity of ignorant white males.

  • Negroes blaming it on the lack of books ? Lack of good teachers ? Nigga PLEASE! I went to the SAME schools these niggas attended and I managed to achieve good grades. What's their excuse again ? Niggas running around wearing $150 pair of Air Jordans, $200 North Face coat, $90 Ed Hardy jeans and shirt, and yet they blame poverty and "broke" schools for their failure ? DROP the Lil' Wayne/Drake shit and pick up a damn book! (or at least, pay attention in class).

  • @bgrim2008 im black and i agree, im sick of these fuckin execuses!

  • @bgrim2008 The ironic part is that Lil' Wayne went to college a couple years ago and Drake was and is a 'cool nerd' as I like to call them.

  • in a bad school you can get good grades and get a schorlarship to a private school

  • @BernardPumpkin Don't you dare tell that to young ***thuggerized*** black and hispanic students. You see, reading, speaking properly, good grammar, scoring high grades is "acting white". I call that phenomenon "The Psychological Suicide Effect"; when non-whites associate intelligence with 'whiteness' = GAME OVER! No amount of books, good teachers, and financial aid can cure that psychological disease. It's like trying to play Captain-Save-A-Hoe, you know the saying...

  • @bgrim2008 it's not too late if the kid is younger than 10 :P

  • This article is prime example of the the typical close minded ignorant slighly bigoted majority of conservatives in this nation. "Let th eat cake." mentality

  • "pimpin' ain't easy"

  • Anna's makeup; set to whore!!!

  • Guys it's not just poor black kids it's all people of all races. Why musy Afro Americans be the poster child of poverty

  • @RandomJ0e Because it suits the agenda well. Everything we were taught growing up is a lie, everything we were taught as kids in school is a lie. Everything. If people like this Forbes writer wanted to tell the truth, instead of brainwashing us into trying to emulate the upper classes, they would've had the decency to tell us how evil the upper classes really are, for starters.

  • So basically "if HE were a black kid", he'd wish he was the white kid he was at one time? Wtf? Total lack of intelligence on the subject of which he wrote about.

  • I can't really be pissed at the guy. He obviously meant well. But I still say people shouldn't try to give too much advice to others in a situation they have never either been in themselves or studied extensively first.

  • Yes, Jayar is right here, and Stevo too, the whole system is built to keep the vast majority down, it's just not possible for everyone to climb out of the hole we are in.

  • Cenk was on the right path at first, but he let the opinions of his cohosts sway him away from the truth. Anyways, i destroy the young turks argument on my channel, check it out. If you dont, chuck norris will round house kick you through your computer!

  • Steve Oh is right.

  • I was actually impressed with how TYT did this, I was expecting the typical kneejerk reaction.

  • "Let them eat cake" is the traditional translation to English of the French phrase "Qu'ils mangent de la brioche", supposedly spoken by "a great princess" upon learning that the peasants had no bread. Since brioche was enriched, as opposed to normal bread, the quote supposedly would reflect the princess's obliviousness to the condition of the people. - wiki

  • @BlackMambakins There might be ghettos in European cities, but computer, internet and means of transportation are also considered basic necessities nowadays so in the more social countries in Europe you might get support for these things (either state-run [often on local level] or private-run but state-sponsored)

  • amen!

marks is arrogantly ignorant and rabidly racist

    ie

millions of rich white slackers needs his advice!

  • Steve Oh is exactly right.

  • I find it rather disturbingly ironic J wears a "Stop Socialism" shirt. Then bitches about how black people are down trodden and not helped. Is he just retarded or does he not see this intrinsic irony?

Socialism is HELPING your fellow person. You give another person a helping hand. That is the core of it. Not stalin or lenin propaganda.

You see a nation with social services that help others like social security. Your grandparents worked and gee, they were not left to die as they got old. Wtf =/

  • @WildBuck007 I'm pretty sure there's satire or sarcasm involved with his shirt because you can see writing under the pictures. Probably mocking those who really do believe in stopping "socialism" but are ignorant of what it actually is.

If you've watched TYT long enough you'd know where Jayar is coming from and what he thinks. Give him the benefit of the doubt man.

  • @WildBuck007 You're an idiot.

  • What do you get if a poor black kid is given the same opportunities? = OBAMA

  • I honestly find this funny. This is just another cocky bastard pretending to be smarter than everyone else.

  • So essentially, "If I was a black kid, I'd act like a white kid"

  • socialismimjustsayin

  • It's not his place to talk about it. The black community isn't poor by chance. They aren't mad at whites for no reason. apparently Gene didn't take history class!!

  • @brokenbeekerman The interesting thing about this are the difference between African Americans and African immigrants. Both are black, both have totally different success rates, yet both are the same color

  • @brokenbeekerman

absolutely and here is a fact for you a white high school graduate can make more money than a college educated black. Go figure

  • @tanio12 LOL, where are you getting these statistic? Your ass?

  • @brokenbeekerman Yea i hear ya brother. Cause some guys you or I dont know did some bad shit to some other guys that you or I dont know. And it was only 200 years ago. I wish they would have just let those people be. They should have left them alone , where they were. Cause that part of the world is just doing great from what I hear

  • The state will often loan computers to poor students, or there are many computers available on campus. Stay after school and get done what you want to do. You could go home and play video games or spray paint the bridge, but no one is holding you back except for yourself.

  • @joelgullick Whats holding the poor white kids back when they dont make it?

  • @himovadere

nothing is holding them back except an indequate educational system that teaches them to get a good job so they can be employees and not employers

  • Exactly what hopeful71 said. The author is basically saying that poor ignorant children should be wise enough to do all the wise things the author has suggested. Yet the fact that they are poor and ignorant means that they are unlikely to be that wise and worldly(not their fault) to actually know the benefit of doing what the author suggests. Their parents are likely uneducated as well so they don't have the wisdom to guide their children down the path the author has suggested.

  • Here's a better question, why are there poor inner city schools with majority black students and wealthy suburban schools with majority white students both funded by tax payer dollars decades AFTER segregation in schools was outlawed by the Supreme Court? Maybe that white columnist can answer that. He saw what education did for Oprah. Her grandmother expected her to wash clothes for "good white folk". Well "good white folk" should want ALL Americans to have access to a good education.

  • @thisiscommentary #1 reason is white flight. African American culture and white American culture is a very different experience. If an area has a trend of more African Americans moving in year after year, whites pick up and move somewhere else (since they have the means to.) I think the bigger question is. Why do African Americans seem to have a hard time thriving in communities in which they dominate in number?

  • @WisdomThroughLogic If you have wisdom through logic you know the answer to that question. There are many answers to that question.

  • @himovadere I'm open to your opinion, and interested to hear it.

  • @thisiscommentary Good white folk do want everyone to have a good education. For example, if you think that your child deserves the same chances as the rich kids across town. You can apply for what is called "hardship". And if you are willing to go across town to drop tyrone off at school then he can go there too. But that aint gonna happen now is it.

  • justice system set up to fail people same for education system, welfare system..c'mon son !

  • Lol at jayar WE BEEEN HELD DOWN FOR SOO DAYUMMMN LONG. OHH LAWDDDD...k jayar this is the one time i disagree.

  • The black kids i went with in middle school took the bus to the library...most kids poor or mid class have bus cards, students in my county get free bus cards...btw closest library is 25 miles away from the schools in my are, i used to go there all the time, and i was dirt poor.

  • as a cityslicker myself not from america i think im slightly better of than most poor kids in the us as lets face it your government is fucking shit i can say living in the city has its advantages and the 1st one is that everyone lives near by we learn through discussion and through pear study and discussion with THE RIGHT AMBITIOUS PEOPLE just get your head around the course material even if the teachers bad the text book usually is not so sit in class and dont do the shit hand out read ahead

  • with the size of that cock they can't go very far.

  • walk to the library

  • That's life, not everybody can be rich and successful.

  • @NCSportsMan70 I believe the point being raised is that EVERYone should be afforded the same opportunities to become rich and successful if that is what they want. Limiting and confining the ability of a certain group due to a percieved "socio-economic" disadvantage is a form of class discrimination. "WE" collectively preach; "Do whatever it takes", until they do-then we arrest them for doing exactly what is NEEDED. The social order requires the subjugation of other for sustainment.

  • @liveecarbme Not everybody is going to have the same oppurtunities, that's life. We preach education, not "do whatever it takes." That implies possibly breaking the law. That is not preached.

  • Skype...?

  • Whites are more likely to be drug users, dealers, and smugglers compared to any minority by a long shot a very long shot. Remember the sole intent of the war on drugs was to get blacks and other minorities in prison.

  • @TheCaliCapitalist

thank you for speaking the truth.

  • @TheCaliCapitalist wow, just wow

  • Bad smelly apartments? Rent control. Single parent? Welfaresystem that givesmore money for failure. Unemployed parent? Welfare system. Unemployed single parent? Welfare system that gives more money for the worseyour situation is. Screwed up innercity schools? Federalization and unionization of education that gives high salaries and tenure to bad teachers. Black kids getting arrested? Drug Laws.Hightransportationcosts?taxilicense

The black community is being destroyed by the state. Ron Paul 2012.

  • why is there such a difference between public schools in America?

  • Systematic Racism, if not why does blacks who make up only 14% of the us population, with 80% of its own behind bars. Its hard to trust a system that barely in the last 50 years gave you similar opportunity, you open your history books and have none beyond america that can be proved, your president just began to look like you, on your way to school you can pass a gunshop, liquor store, and a planned parenthood clinic created by an bigot Margaret Sangers to wipeout the black community. F school.

  • I have a better solution for poor black kids. Here are the steps.

    1. Get in a little fight at school, to get mom scared.

    2. Moms fear will get her to send you to live with your rich uncle in Bel Air.

    3. Thrive in your new surroundings, yet remain ghetto by wearing your private school sportcoat inside out.

  • @Sperminator10000

    LOLOLOL

  • @Sperminator10000 LOL the fresh prince

  • @Sperminator10000 - Most clever "Fresh Prince" trolling ever! Hats off to you, sir. :)

  • @Sperminator10000 how is this comment not #1?

  • i'm black my dad makes 125000 dollars a year and my mom doesn't have to work, she quit her job when she got pregnant with me (i came a year after my parents were married) and she hasn't worked since, me and my little sister live in an upper middle class neighborhood and both of us are honor roll students and we both a have collage funds, and i have 2 admit that is very rare.

  • @RealityGrapple Oh, so you advocate what? Killing them in death camps because this mess is going to perpetuate itself if we don't? You're fucked up in the head and I hope you're locked away in prison you STUPID RACIST!

  • Every child regardless of color or background should strive for better grades.

  • @pooyan6969

no each child should strive to be creative and independent thinkers so we can have more employers and not employees

  • JR, is right on the money. PERIOD!!!

  • There is no way a poor kid(of any race) can get ahead in life if BOTH parents don't care about their education. Parents are just as important to a child's education than teachers, because parents back-up the teacher while the kid is at home. No kid can complete school with any hope of succes without the parent-teacher team working together for the child. Ofter poor parents don't show-up at PTA meetings or get involved, and when kids see this lack of respect for education, they mimic it!

  • @ginko27 HEY HEY HEY, you need to pump the brakes and slow the fuck down. DO you hear what you are saying? Parents responsible for teaching and leading their children? PREPOSTEROUS !!!

  • poor black kids are spoiled emo rich people to alot of third world kids, stop bitchin you live in the usa , get off your ass and hustle

  • I want Jayar's T-shirt

  • This article also ignores the reality that even if you do work hard and get yourself educated, that's no guarantee of success. My father was an immigrant who grew up in Lennox and joined the military, got a college education, and became a machinist and a shop teacher, then got laid off.

  • "Let them eat cake"

  • this is retarded, like all the kids just don't want to become a "lawyer or a doctor". kids don't like to do bad in school. it's always the surrounding that takes people down

  • they dont have the means to get to a library but what no buses?

they ant get a library but they can get to foot locker to buy the new jordans?

And yeah i see kids with jordans inn the projects all the time, i live next to ACORN projects in oakland and yeah there's a library walking distance away, thats about to be closed because it has the FEWEST people going there than any other library in oakland.

  • Well i grew up poor and white and i have had NO advantages over my black neighbors....

in fact being poor and white your race works against you because everyone views you as an upper class white while you're actually dirt poor. So black students at my schools got affirmative action and i just got shitty schools.

  • Black kids are not the only group having trouble w/ school and are poor. Fragmenting the issue of child poverty and education can become counter-productive as we lose sight or give up in the midst of arguing and bickering about how to help the "poor black kids" singling them out as if it is their will to be uneducated & poor. Lets help all the children! Accepting the dilemma for what it is- a complex social problem which we all can play a part in eradicating.

  • LOL what little kid wants to study all day. I mean, i did.. but that was just because I didn't have any friends. But even lazy riches have way more of an advantage then a hardworking poor.

  • @34601k

Dis you not just hear what the freaking video even said? Retard

  • No human being is the same. People's personality or mentality is reactionary to the environment they grow up in. There are exceptions to this yes, but on the whole, most generally develop in this way. Saying what you would do if... is just ignorant to the reality of the environments that the poor and poor blacks live in.

  • Mark's arrguement is just long way to retell Herman Cain's position, "if you're not rich blame yourself." I believe that the idea that a child just needs to work all the harder it they are poor, minority and/or are in a lousy school and that's enough is away 4 Marks 2 be comfortable with his biogotry and avoid having 2 do doing anything to make it a more level playing field.

  • Forbes is upset that he sees problems in our society. This is something we all have in common. However, where Forbes goes wrong is when he, like most social conservatives, suggest ways to fix societal problems without having a clue about the dynamic of these problems. To say he is ignorant is an understatement. He is so misinformed that he is now part of the very societal problems he wishes to correct by spreading misinformation which retards the issue for anyone foolish enough to listen.

  • You have 8 class periods worth of homework to do. The public library will allow you 1 hour to use their computers. Unless you are already a super genius (which 99% of America is not) you are screwed because there's no way you'll get it all done.

  • They AREN"T trying AT ALL. Look at Oakland, CA. There are new Asian immigrants and Blacks who have been here their whole lives. The Asians don't even speak English, live in the same neighborhoods, are even targeted by Blacks for crime, go to the same schools and get into decent universities. The Blacks sit around, have sex, smoke weed and fail out of class. Blacks have to help themselves US as a society can't help them anymore.

  • Lol @ the idea of a black person having a computer. How absurd.

  • "Culture of Poverty"

Basically as a child you LEARN what is possible in life; if ALL your family & friends have achieved very little you believe this is also YOUR fate in life. This becomes reinforced by the school, culture, & value system around you.

While the author, given what he is and what he believes, would have the motivation to 'study' his way out of the situation, most people stuck at the bottom simply don't believe they can achieve that. Put race in the mix & it just gets worse

  • Don't forget the drug dealers, gangs, and family members that don't want you to succeed...

  • wow! I have it pretty good right now. I can understand no library and no computer, but they can't take the textbooks home!! How is someone going to do their homework without the textbook?

  • If he's a poor black kid, chances are he's being brought up by a single mother--if that! Probably his grandmother. He either never sees her cause she's working all day to support them, or she's on welfare and has a drug habit. My point is, without good parenting, without good role models to teach a child the REWARDS of reading and learning at a tender young age, ANYBODY could be a poor (black, white, or w/e) kid. For the rest of their lives. Hence our horrific unemployment rate in this country.

  • He misses the point completely: He says, "If I were a poor black kid, I would try harder to learn reading, etc." But he's assuming he would have his same mind now in the body of an 8 year old black kid. You can't say that! The truth is, if you ARE a poor black kid, you don't have any motivation, incentive or inspiration to READ. Your hero's are Jay-Z and Lebron James. All you want to do is get high and play video games. Why do I say that? Because its not JUST black kids, THAT'S ALL KIDS today.

  • @paex18 No, I think you miss the point of the article. . . Sure he could have worded it MUCH better.

You bitch about " if you ARE a poor black kid, you don't have any motivation, incentive or inspiration to READ. ". This is EXACTLY what this article was attempting to do, poorly yes, but that was the aim.

He was trying to tell them to make the best of what they got, yet people complain, then they turn around and complain that nobody tries to help.

  • @manhunt48 I'm not trying to say we need to GIVE anyone anything- I was merely explaining how people end up in a vicious cycle of poverty

  • @paex18 So, it does appear that the only way people will be satisfied is if we're supposed to give them everything. If anything! the "poor black kids" have an advantage within the poor category as there are people trying to help. Where as people in other races in exactly the same situation have nobody fighting for them.

Fuck everyone who focuses on race, it's just as bad on the left as on the right. This should JUST be about the poor, irrelevant of colour.

  • @manhunt48 Exactly :)

  • The worst schools in America are still better than the 90% of the schools in the rest of the world. Being born in the USA is such a huge advantage in comparison to being born pretty much anywhere else that for that alone you should be thankful.

  • @jamkabi That in no way means we should be satisfied with it.

  • @jamkabi lol US is 23rd that can't be 90%

  • awesome article. i predict a huge spike in grades among poor black kids who read forbes.

  • It doesn't sound too crazy, but it sounds poorly written. I'm sure the author were drunk when he wrote it.

  • people get needlessly worked up because a white guy gives advice to black people. the question is, is the advice useful? not really.

the problem with getting an education as a poor kid is not (primarily) the lack of resources, its the psychology of powerlessness and low expectations that very likely pervades your school and family. few people can imagine their way out of a swamp without support form the environment. a privileged kid has no experience overcoming that set of problems.

  • I suggest he read Jean Anyon's piece on education.

  • He asts as if kids can completely change their situation. Maybe he should address adults who help perpetuate this inequality.

  • Gene Marks' advice is useless in America; giving everyone access to the tools they need to succeed in life is socialism!

  • I am very disappointed in TYT and very close to unsubscribing. You want to solve the education problem in this country? Look to the culture of being poor. Look to the dead beat parents. Look to the boys and girls who have children that they can't even support. For every person who uses welfare for it's intended purposes there's one who uses it to buy a big screen TV. I LIVE in the ghetto. The majority of people are hard working normal folks. But let us have courage to admit to the problem.

  • Sorry JR. Everything you said is complete bullshit. I'm a poor kid from the Bronx. I know what it takes to succeed and I I know a lot of other poor kids from the Bx who have succeeded. If anyone is jumping the shark it's TYT. We'ere talking about SKYPE? SKYPE? WTF does skype have to do w/ education? We couldn't learn before skype? There is no "MAN" holding anyone down. Look to the personal choices that many poor families make and you'll see exactly why so many kids can't get out of the ghetto.

  • @blueconsole: Best comment I've seen on here. I don't understand why it's a crime to want black people to take responsibility to get a better life when other minorities are told the same thing and do it. I did it, my aunts did it, my great grandma back when lynching was legal did it. There shouldn't be 0% help but ignoring personal choices and the negative culture is not going to solve anything.

  • @ThexDynastxQueen Nobody is suggesting that. Some of the poorest among black people try their best and encourage their children to do better. I have a problem with my community being broad brushed. If the article read "If I were a poor kid" instead of black kid it would make more since.

  • @ThexDynastxQueen

black people have been doing it have you ever heard of BLACK WALL STREET . also give me a definition of a better life is it to become an entrepeneur or to continue to work for somebody else and make their lives better.

What poor black kids need is a reality check and that is the educational system is based upon a 1950's industralized structure that doesn't teach free thinking and creativity but conformity instead.

  • @tanio12: A better life is subjective but it certainly isn't a life where a one must struggle to pay their bills, food, etc or worry about their surroundings harming them. I don't disagree that our system is based on one size fits all but that doesn't mean every poor child should give up learning basic skills like reading comprehension first.

  • a bunch of morons on this vid

  • I read both the article and the real black kids response, and the black kid screwed up royally.

At no time did the white guy say black kids need his help

At no time did the white guy say black kids never would have thought of his ideas

At no time did the white guy say he was so much smarter. In fact he bent over backwards to say exactly the opposite

Meanwhile the black kid let his anger get the better of him and lashed out like, a kid. The anger was juvenile, uncalled for, and inappropiate

  • Oh Damn I didn't know this article would offend anyone!!please put yourself in my shoes.

  • How is it possible for a child (any child) with shitty parents that expose many wrong things like violence and drugs to succeed in societies standards? Kids are raised to be what they are in future. It's hard for people with a good family set up to judge on the less fortunate. Fixing poverty, of course is the main solution.

  • libraries won't let you use skype... Unless you bring your own laptops

  • @kingkong8974 And you gotta be outside the library to not be loud and disturbing and use the library's wifi. OOOOOOH wait you need a laptop for this...

  • I love how white people think they know about poor black kids.

  • @raichutoyou i love how you're a racist. Oh wait, no I don't.

  • @Krauserowns I also love when people are called racist when they won't lick white people's boots.

  • @raichutoyou you're a racist because you assume that it's ONLY white people who can be fortunate and rich. Go die in a fire you waste of energy.

  • Holy shit. It's "Jayar"?? I always thought they were his initials, as in: "J-R".

  • "A lot of these kids don't have the means to go to a library". Sorry Anna.....thats garbage. If you live in an inner city there is ALWAYS a means to get from point A to point B.

  • thank you Jayar, for being real and explaining this from a black perspective! this is truth revealed!

  • i guess peer pressure and bullying. . doesn't come into play. . he's right Gene just makes so much fucking sense in the fairy tale land lol

  • Also, they are fucking KIDS, you can't expect them to waste their childhood and teenage years on working their asses off against a system that's set against them. You have to be extremely motivated to do that and really enjoy studying. It's a good way to get bullied, too, especially in bad schools, I imagine. That's how the kids see it, anyway.

Yeah, it's good advice, but it's not the way to fix the problem. You can't make the kids bear all the responsibility. They have it hard enough as it is.

  • From all the libraries I have seen you can only have one hour on their computers for internet use. I have recently found one where if no one else is around you can get extra time. But is one hour of internet use actually going to be helpful for learning?

  • This shit was so ignorant, not racist.

  • I think this guys heart is in the right place, hes just ignorant, not in a hateful way, he just doesn't understand.

  • dogun? dont you mean Doğan.

  • CENK STOP SAYING RIGHT BEFORE I GO MAD...STOP IT!

  • @sfksoldier right now? right...

  • @sfksoldier Al Gore told him to say "right" 500 times a show to help stop global warming.

  • I'll put it in a way video gamers can understand. Not every American is born with the same base stats, because video games are too unrealistic.

Equal opportunity is not about forcing everyone to do the same quests, and get the same amount of gold, it's all about starting everyone out WITH THE SAME BASE STATS.

  • @ccricers ""Not every American is born with the same base stats,""

True, because there is no equality in nature and we humans are part of nature whether we like it or not.

    "Equality" is a social construct.

  • @ccricers great analogy. gotta go level up my INT

  • @ccricers Wrong. Not everyone starts with the base stats. Base stats are the physical features of the individual people (faster brain, slower left leg, etc). This will vary from person to person period. Equal opportunity is about equalizing the time everyone has to spend investing in themselves - through education and other programs. "Equal opportunity" is about equalizing the environment everyone grows up in.
