  • 1 second ago I know K'naan from Waving Flag.. The song is very popular in Holland now.. Then I heard In the beginning, Take a minute, Fatima and Struggling and now he is one of my favorites!!

It is the real rap, and not the rap from Lil Wayne, Soulja Boy or the music from Trey songz.

  • @MMarrakchia well said

  • @MMarrakchia

Idd gozert!

Jammer..

  • thats some real shit... all that hustle for a baby seat

  • Jihad in Arabic means "to struggle" - struggle to purify one's soul of evil influences. This is the ultimate Jihad for Muslims (many accounts in the media define jihad as a synonym for "holy war'' which is incorrect). Each and ever one of us face struggles in our daily lives. Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens) and Knaan are my fav singer/song writers by far. No one else comes close <3

  • caadi ma tihid, K'NAAN lakiin qoladiisu yaa waaye.

This track is actually a classic to me now that I hear it..

  • knaan ftw

and Deka his wife at the end :)

Mashallah K'naan and Deka had wonderful Children <3

  • and why share with us ur idiotic comment... do us favour keep out. if ur not fan.

  • Seriously? Your the joke...

  • hahaha K'naan is like the best rapper in real hip hop. hes the truth. Eminem is a little white boy. thats like comparing Immortal Technique to soulja boi. only a faggot bitch would.

  • racism is a bitch

  • as true as that is, why do you tell it to me?

  • Because you called Eminem a "little white boy", when it's obvious if you listen to this guy's style he got a definite Eminem influence. From before he got signed, Infinite days, that what it sounds like to me. And that's beside the point, K'naan did songs with white people so he's obviously not racist and I bet if you asked him he'd say Eminem influenced him. Cus he's a humble dude. So give the "little white boy" his props, cus that man can spit. And stop spewing hate on a song with deep meaning

  • i certainly do not ever spew hate, least of all on this song which i agree is very very deep. i also agree K'naan is very humble. and of course K'naan is not racist, he is revolutionary. As for his influences, he was strongly influenced by Rakim and Nas. He has been compared frequently to Eminem due to similiar deliveries; the difference is in their content. btw i am white.

  • Alright, well I guess it wasn't a racist comment. Still, why call him a white boy like that makes him less of a dope emcee? If you listened to Infinite and then listen to this, you'll see Em's obviously influenced him in some way. By the way, Rakim gave Em his props, why can't these so called "hip hop heads?" I don't think Eminem is the best, Nas and Rakim are both ahead of him, but he's in the top 10. I guess it's cus I'm a rapper that happens to be white I took offence to your statement. 1

  • my friend, i probably heard infinite years before you did. yes, it is possible that eminem influenced K'naan to some degree. even probable. and i gave eminem props for a very refined flow, and good wordpay. HOWever; that is not enough for me. like I said the difference is in content. and that is crucial imo. you can say as many puns as you want in as elequent a flow as you want, but if you got nothing to say, whats the point. Immortal Tech learned that early in his career. thats how i feel.

  • Not all of his lyrics are meaningless. He does have alot of bullshit songs, which is why I said people like Nas and Rakim are better. But when he wants to be, he's as good as just about anybody in the world. I'm all about lyrics, hence the name, and Eminem's lyrics are dope, as are K'naan's, they just different. And Immortal is aight, he needs to stop tryna be the rappin Alex Jones though, it gets boring. And what does whether or not you heard Infinite before me have to do with it?

  • haha alex jones is kinda an idiot. its kind of foolish to compare him to Tech.

youre right K'naans lyrics are diferent from Ems. Theyre deep. you compared Infinite to K'naan up to this point (2 label albums thusfar). Eminems deepest shit on the whole album is not very deep. K'naan is the absolute opposite, talkin bout revolution. Even up to this point, incl all of Ems albums. not very deep.

As for Tech,I havent got bored listenin to real shit. i can understand why you prefer Em though.

  • But did you do the research or just take Immortal Techniques word that its real? I'm all about truth, that's why I prefer Canibus over all of them, cus he speaks the truth for real. Who's to say what's true and what's a conspiracy theory and what's propoganda perpetuated by the government? If IT was really exposing something they didn't want exposed, he'd be dead, trust me. And as far as this whole Eminem shit, I'm saying the DELIVERY on THIS song sounds influenced by Em, K'naan got many styles.

  • ...but don't get me wrong, I respect IT and I think he's a revolutionary. I think his intentions are good, unlike Alex Jones, who's full of propoganda and fear and hate mongering . I like some of his songs too, I have both Revolutionaries and I used to bump em all the time. I'm just not with all these people that treat him like he's hip hop messiah. I think he needs to rap on more diverse topics. More songs like Dance With The Devil, You Never Know and Positive Balance, you feel me?

  • yea i mos def did do the research, and much of it i already had done the research. now im not talkin bout 9/11, imo well never know for sure until someone from the gov on the inside comes out and confesses(and yes that happens very frequently with these things, but many years later ie. assassination of Che, attempts on Fidel). im talkin about the US sponsoring war criminals eg. Saddam Hussein, Bin Laden sr and jr and oppressing poor countries. yes these are facts.

  • i dont think Tech is large scale enough to be assassanated- it took CIA/FBI years to kill Che, as well as King and X. and they still havent killed Fidel after some hundred and some confirmed attempts. but i agree hes def doing the right thing. and im not sure if you know but he has alot of side projects 1 is buying farmland in 3rd world countries and nationalizing economy. i dont follow him like a messiah lol but he is amazing as a person and rapper. but i def feel you. and i loved those songs.

  • Funny, I could have sworn I was just in some pussy not two hours ago. Fuck outta here, why you hatin on me with some random ass comment? By the way, incase any other idiot gets my comments misconstrued, I'm NOT saying anything bad about K'naan. He's a true artist, and I respect him alot, my comments were on some whole other shit.

  • Eminem's lyrics are the equivilant of that dude bruno putting his ass in eminems face......what kinda sucker mc would do that shyt????

  • yeah mosh was very good song..but cant think of many more from him thats dope to me

  • Like you said, dope to you, it's your personal opinion, but I thought he had alot of good shit. Everybody entitled to their own opinion though, so it's all good, it is what it is. 1

  • I agree with you on Eminem.....although race has nothing to do with it...lyrical content does. I dont care how clever you can rap about bullshit.......it will only amount to bullshit.... But the realist rapper ever died in september 1996

  • Bring that nigga pac back!!! no doubt about that man

  • yo check dis guys other songs b4 u say shit about him ur gonna change ur opinion quickly

  • This song rox I remember hearing it b4

  • stop acting like an idiot.

  • ^_^ i wasnt

  • i recomand u to lestin to this song every day all day . it might cure ur idiotic behavior.

  • Lol, it's one thing calling a random rapper fake. But calling somebody who grew up in Mogadishu fake is just stupid.

  • agree mate... indeed all these so-called gangster hip hop guys are soft as muffins... so yea ur true, appreciate your integrity mate.. peace

  • @TehKilar1337

so true.... the usual "ghetto" to which the rappers of the western sphere are reffering to are playgrounds compared to mogadishu which is still more of a war zone.

besides this, knaan is definitely one of the best rappers of our time. his lyrics, flow and intention are far beyond anything ive ever heard.

waving flag is the first official song for the WC that deserves to be called a hymn.

im sure he ll get mad props when shit gets started. :)

if i was in his position i would be attacking these weak rappers in the game. K'naan should make a video with akon.

  • I honestly dont know why i waster time reading people like sucka4free's comments.

Because really, Knaan's songs are INSPIRATIONAL. and no, lil' wayne and 50 cent arent inspirational, theyre what's killing todays black youth.

And i couldnt care less if you thumbs down me, because its the truth, and you all know it.

  • ahah stupid

  • He's only black, Somalian, and raps about real problems in Africa. Yep sounds like a photocopy to me. But if you mean he's a great rapper then yeah he is pretty amazing.
