  • i heard the abs at about 30-25 mph, lmfaoo

  • I miss my 2004 Envoy XUV =(

    SLT and all =(

  • why do trailblazers/envoys have that whine? I was driving my grandmas 2003 Envoy XL and it has that whine and its so annoying!

  • It's just the nature of the 4.2L Inline 6. Most chrysler engines have that whine too, including the AMC designed 4.0L inline 6. I think it sounds great, Inline 6 engines usually have a unique engine note.

  • @rudolphna54 Actually you are wrong.

That wine is almost 9/10 times coming from a pulley, at the moment, i dont remember the name of the pulley, but its some where near the A/C pulley, cheap fix 19$ from napa.

  • VV T

  • I love my 03 envoy, with a 6 cylinder has more horses then the explorer or durango, as well as better fuel mileage, i drive alot on highways, it handles like a sports car after about 60 mph

  • when the full-throttle upshift comes at about 6000 rpm the engine is only striding, not screaming. The smooth-shifting four-speed automatic transmission is the proven Hydra-matic 4L60-E, used in GM applications from Corvettes to Cadillac Escalades.

  • me uncle drives an envoy xl .........

  • I just love the sound of that engine I drive my moms Envoy sometimes and I love getting on once in a while it is cool how they have made a naturally aspirated engine sound supercharged

  • yeah me too, i alwayz get on my moms Trailblazer..I just LOVE the sound of those 4200 vortec's!!!!

  • it is not a vortec it is an atlas engine

    291 hp (217 kW) 277 lb·ft (376 N·m) all-aluminum 4.2 L "Atlas" LL8

  • so tell me why on top of the engine, in big black bold letters it says: VORTEC 4200?

  • Its a Vortec 4.2L Inline 6.

  • @pyrositytube

"it is not a vortec it is an atlas engine"

Old post, but.... It is a Vortec engine from the Atlas family (Atlas LL8, Vortec 4200).

  • i meant sounded

  • How do you set it for a certain amount of miles like you set it 0.3 miles how did you do that?

  • I never said that the envoy wasnt nice I do really like them, but I would say that the envoy looks better than the bravada but thats just my opinion

  • ok well i respect your opinion, however i have my own as well

  • how am I a dumbfuck i just stated a fact that hondas and toyotas are more reliable than gmc or any american car maker even a ford which is what i drive, if you dont believe me check consumer reports

  • consumer reports don't mean shit , all that is is retarted ppl that treat cars like shit and get mad when they break down, and by the way i drive a ford too and a 2004 bravada wich is gm. and there both great.we used to have a 98 civic and i was a piece of shit,we also rented a 2002 civic and it broke down the first day we had it,the interior sucks and it had NO power,so i don't see how ppl like"reliable" inports.this is usa damit so if u want inports go to that country were there made.

  • we have a 97 civic with over 120,000 miles on it and it has never had a single problem it been the most reliable car we have ever owned. they are rated one of the most reliable cars on the road by many people not just consumer reports

  • How would you like to know that Buick tied Lexus for the number 1 spot of reliability?

  • you just don't want to think that it's possible, but it is. There isn't some chemical formula dictating that japanese cars are more reliable.

  • Buick tied Lexus for #1. Toyota dropped 5 spots in the past year. Have you seen how many recalls they've done?

  • the only bad thing I have heard about toyota lately is that there transmisions in the new camry are not that great other than that i have not heard anything

  • Don't forget about cams snapping in the 5.7L V8, transmissions going out of the Tundra, the Tundra's tailgate bending under real truck use (btw, use a GM, Ford, or Dodge for real truck work)... just to name a few. ;)

  • The GMT360 is a nice platform, and I believe the Envoy is the BEST example of it. Great engine, excellent ride, and excellent handling for a medium-sized light truck.

The only quirk is inferior gas mileage compared to the Honda Pilot, which itself is a good truck as well.

But, I'd take the Envoy because it's also reliable (disagree with Consumer Reports), parts are more easily available, and used Envoys in good condition can be had for relatively low cost. You can't beat those pluses.

  • Forgot to add: I also happen to like the look of the Envoy better than the Pilot.

The Envoy has a very nice, sleek profile with a good aggressive touch to the appearance with the flared fenders.

  • And, there's the name.

"Envoy" is a better name than "Pilot," IMO.

  • the bravada is the best example of the gmt360 platform, the envoy is ugly compared to the bravada, also the bravada is faster because it's lighter, and 70% of the body panels on the bravada are oldsmobie exclusive

  • I didn't like the Bravada myself. But, that's me.

And, that's cool that you like the Bravada and the advantages you state about it.

  • did u see my video on all 3?

  • Just now. Very nice!

Although, you forgot the other three. Isuzu Ascender, Buick Rainier, and the Saab 9-7x.

  • yeah, i know i diddent include those because i didden't want to make the vid to long, and cuz it started off with the envoy bravada and trailblazer, the rest came later

  • if your saying that this is more reliable than a honda than thats a lie honda and toyotas are the most reliable cars on earth

  • I never claimed that the GMC Envoy was more reliable than the Honda Pilot.

But, I did claim and do believe that the GMC Envoy is more reliable than Consumer Reports gives it credit for. Consumer Reports says that the Envoy is unreliable and is considered a risky buy. From my experience, I cannot agree with them on that claim.

And, should something go wrong, parts will be easier to find and cheaper on the Envoy than the Pilot in the United States.

  • I agree. I've had an envoy for 4 years now and I've never had a major problem with it that resulted in it being unable to drive. I had a minor problem with the 4WD lo setting but that was about it. It truly is a great car...especially when it goes through the kind of crap I have put mine through :)

  • As for the plus: you can get a good, used Envoy for relatively low cost because of depreciation, which ends up giving the buyer a better deal for that particular instance.

If you are in the market for a brand new truck, on the other hand, you may be better off buying the Honda Pilot because depreciation isn't going to be as steep; a new Pilot will hold its resale better than a new Envoy.

  • andytaurus, hey ur a dumb fuck

  • Proud owner of a Trailblazer sayin good video!

  • i love the supercharged sound they make at 5,000 rpms

  • there not supercharged

  • thats why i said "the sound" i had a 2004 trailblaz and it sounded just like it!

  • yeah it did

  • those trucks can move...

  • Is that an slt?

  • i think it is an slt cuz i know it would be a lot faster 60-80 than it is or mabye cuz of the sand, idk

  • The engine in a regular length Envoy is always going to be the inline 6 4200 series Vortec, SLE or SLT.

A V8 engine for the Envoy is only available on the XL, the discontinued XUV, and the Denali.

  • It's definitely an SLT as the display underneath the speedometer gives it away (TRIP B: 0.0 MI).

The SLT is equipped with a more comprehensive information center with the dot matrix display underneath the speedometer, whereas the SLE only has the odometer and the trip odometer using a conventional numeric display.

  • it ill fly! i've got a 04 bravada
