SL looks like it has a nice open world experience, but some people seem to place way too much significance on it. For the majority of people it's only going to be nothing more than a fun diversion. The fact that some people have made money off of it is pretty cool though.
PS: S.L. can't match WoW in anyway and comparing those 2 different thing is just pure idiotic, WoW is also based on a story, while S.L. does not have any story to be based on, it's the same thing like comparing an Ass to a Finger
thats because WoW has all the content downloaded on your computer. Second Life streams the content live so the world can evolve and change in real time. its not even like comparing an ass to a finger, more like comparing the internet to AOL. one being more open with a lot of possibilities yet very complex, the other being very controlled and user friendly.
It seems to me that encouraging people to go hang out there is just another way of getting them to shut up about making changes in the real world. It's all well and good that you can live out libertarian ideals there, but you're not REALLY doing anything. In the meantime, if you try smoking pot in your ACTUAL life, they will send you to an ACTUAL jail. So basically, you're telling people to go there & pretend they have liberty and call it good.
