I have just returned from Mostar. I lost my heart there. It IS the MOST INCREDIBLE place on earth. If only "humans" can learn NOT to destroy. God Speed Mostar and all the wonderful people I met there. I miss you and will be back next year!

Yes it was, and for the most part they succeeded in genocide. The serbs even released some of their most violent and sadistic convicts from some of serbias worst prisons, gave them automatic weapons, and let them do as they wish to Bosnian populations. I am not a Muslim or a Bosnian, but its pretty black and white on who the "bad guy" was during this conflict.

No I was not there.I watched and read unbiased news about the conflict, seen countless pictures of mutilated corpses of women and children. Sure, there are a handful of isolated incidents of Muslims retaliating on Serbians, but the ratio is far from balanced. I understand the Serbian propaganda machine has its own people believing its governments lies, but not me. The multiple mass Muslim grave sites speak for themselves. Don't confuse nationalism and obvious facts with each other.

People from one state may not understand the language of another state but it prevents domination of any one religion or language. I just got back from Mostar last week. I am American. It was a unique experience-not just it's breath taking beauty-it is a jewel, but the enormous effort by the local population to preserve its history and at the same time to just live normal lives. What I can not understand is why you fail to allow them to do that. You defile their most humble efforts to claim their rightful place in the world. You should all be ashamed.

In 93tudjman betrayed Bosnia which was being attacked by serbia however in many other fronts (bihac,sarajevo,tuzla, brcko etc) the croat-muslim alliance never changed.

according the last census made in Yugoslavia (1991) serbs population in Mostar was- 23,909 (18.97%).
Initially nationalist serbs or chetniks backed by " serbian dominated" JNA wanted to split the town (east for them and west for croats and muslims) so since they were not able to take the town and there was nothing to loot they left ,what followed is known. Innocents serbs families lost their homes their lifes ruined and orthodox churches were burned.

Yes it was, and for the most part they succeeded in genocide. The serbs even released some of their most violent and sadistic convicts from some of serbias worst prisons, gave them automatic weapons, and let them do as they wish to Bosnian populations. I am not a Muslim or a Bosnian, but its pretty black and white on who the "bad guy" was during this conflict.

No I was not there.I watched and read unbiased news about the conflict, seen countless pictures of mutilated corpses of women and children. Sure, there are a handful of isolated incidents of Muslims retaliating on Serbians, but the ratio is far from balanced. I understand the Serbian propaganda machine has its own people believing its governments lies, but not me. The multiple mass Muslim grave sites speak for themselves. Don't confuse nationalism and obvious facts with each other.

I just got back from Mostar last week. I am American. It was a unique experience-not just it's breath taking beauty-it is a jewel, but the enormous effort by the local population to preserve its history and at the same time to just live normal lives. What I can not understand is why you fail to allow them to do that. You defile their most humble efforts to claim their rightful place in the world. You should all be ashamed.

Croatians and Serbs attacked Bosnia and Herzegovina. They tried to get rid of all muslims in Bosnia, including in Mostar too.
The situation in Bosnia isn't any better now. Croats and Serbs aren't giving up from their plans.
So, my point is, yes Mostar is beautiful, but Croats are the BAD GUYS, and you can not equalise the good (defenders) and the bad guys (agressor of Bosnia).

In 93tudjman betrayed Bosnia which was being attacked by serbia however in many other fronts (bihac,sarajevo,tuzla, brcko etc) the croat-muslim alliance never changed.

alien ok maybe my stats are a little off. but i know for a fact that there were NEVER many serbs in mostar. it was under 10% at any given time throughout history look at demographics before and now you will see i am not lying. another thing, serbs have nothing to fight for in mostar. its not like there was a serb population to support and serb churches and monastaries to fight for. serbs had no business there, when the war broke out, they left. muslims and croats stayed to fight each other.

according the last census made in Yugoslavia (1991) serbs population in Mostar was- 23,909 (18.97%).
Initially nationalist serbs or chetniks backed by " serbian dominated" JNA wanted to split the town (east for them and west for croats and muslims) so since they were not able to take the town and there was nothing to loot they left ,what followed is known. Innocents serbs families lost their homes their lifes ruined and orthodox churches were burned.

lol no, my grandfather was in the "mladi muslimani" my family would never fight in the name of croatia bc of what they stand for (murdering people just because of their religion) what your saying has no logic whatsoever. Bosnia was always a muslim nation. There might have been regions that werent BEFORE like WWI, but how long ago is that? Imaš pravo, rat se neće nikada završiti u Mostaru, ta mržnja je nemoguća. Ja sam Muslimanka, ali zar je važno koje smo vjere?? Nije mi jasno odakle potječe sva ta silna mržnja?? Srce me zaboli kada čitam ovakve komentare :( Od 2001 godine ne živim u Mostaru, a i drago mi je što više ne moram živjeti u mržnji, ali sada bolujem za mojim gradom :(:(
