It's from the (widely mis-translated) verse from Mt.6:13 "Do not bring us to temptation, but deliver us from THE EVIL ONE." - not "from evil" in general. The "evil one" is also called "ruler of the air's authority" (Eph.2:2) and "the god of this system of things" (2Cor.4:3,4)

Other expressions like "hallowed be thy name", "kingdom come", and others, are from that same passage.
