so the test ones at codemasters and gamescoms are the alpha version, because all the videos have rubbish crash damage. and when you smash into and ai your front wing comes of and your still ok when you should be out. and the ai are like invinsable

@Huffling123 The most recent videos from gamescom (or whatever it was) allowed the person trialling the game to set the difficulty themselves. In this video everything was set to easy.

How many camera angles are their on the car? I always liked the one that's similar to the one you've got here, but was to the left a bit on F1: Championship Edition.

Rockplannet1, were you at the event? I'm sure Codemasters will do a fantastic job of animating the collision and carnage judging from their Grid/Dirt pedigree, but I'm concerned about physics. I hope it plays much much better than what Liverpool Studios was able to deliver with their game. Visually it looks good with the right amount of head bobble from turbulence and all that but man, Grid/Dirt isn't exactly a sim so the jury is still out.

@Tomiwa17 - It's being released around September 1st.

- Alpha version is basically a test version. A sneak preview (like a beta) to show the press and fans. It's a version that still has glitches & a lot of things aren't yet complete in the game.

- You can bet your life it's going to be good!

- arcade mode is more of a pick up and drive game. easy mode.

-sim mode is a simulation, tyre wear, weather, damage, traction control off. etc.

@OMGz1122 Looks fine to me. It may look a little excessive because of the camera angle. The angle here is slightly lower & further back than we see on a real F1 car so we don't see their whole head in real life. It looks pretty true to life if you take that into account.

Again, arcade mode or not, codemasters made it, so it is going to be an arcade game. Read the review, the guy sais after a few laps he was instantly able to play.

There is no safety car and no formation lap, "because it does not add to the experience". Do codemasters know fuck all about F1? They didn't implement it because it probably caused too many problems for them.

Its going to be that game where you start from last in a virgin, and are first by the 3rd corner. I will stick to rFactor with mods. The last good F1 game was F1 Challenge for PC. That was a true sim.

Not the console versions of F1 challenge, I mean the PC versions. They were used on a totally different engine by ISI and were actual simulators with a huge amount of realism.

Codemasters don't even make settings so you can toggle realism. They make "arcade" and "arcadier"

Maybe, we will see. Codemasters have NEVER made a simulation. Grid, Dirt, Toca Race Driver, all fun, none of them realistic.

No worry there is SIM mod+ this is pre-ALPHA derived from the work of the cancelled F1 2009 mostly. + the say Davidson gives one day of playing at least a week to give advice to the devs from how ,i imagine, the vehicles reacton and AI
