Caeli, you have great taste in music, and not just that which you play. I'm loving the ATCQ. Ever heard of Pete Rock and CL Smooth? More quality jazzy hip hop.
I wanna thank you again for the shout out Caeli, and I hope you enjoyed the YouTube Symphony Orchestra as much as I did! (although I wasn't there, I really enjoyed the footages you flimed)
you made me wanna learn the Violin again, which I used to play when I was 4
Dont read this! Im telling you DONT READ THIS! fine then... In 1984 there was a young boy called Johnson one day he was sleeping and he waked up in the forest..
He got lost until a man found him Johnson asked the man for help the man said ''Ok'' he took him on then he raped him cutting 1 finger a time the next day he dumped his body in the graveyard in 2007 a girl read this but did not copy and paste it so she got raped by the man!

What I like about this event is how its bringing classical music back to light. Since I graduated college I haven't seen much in the way of classical music besides listening to the radio on the way to work. Although I'm way to rusty, I regret not pulling out my horn to make a video audition. While watching the finalist videos I recognized some pieces and I began to realize how much I missed playing. If I didn't have a class on the 15th I would probably get a ticket to see it.
I would had been more excited about this if i would had seen a African country somewhere in it, i am pretty sure there has to be someone who has to be good enough in one of them countries. I just don't think it's a whole world get together. where the hell is mat is actually more inspiring in my opinion.
I enjoy your reporting! When you use the terms "everyone" and "anyone", do you really think that 'everyone' who auditioned for the YTSO would have an equal chance to make it in the orchestra? This really was not much different than most orchestra auditions today, other than it was carried out on line. Had the public voting results been published, we would now know if in fact one could say "everyone" had a fair chance and if it indeed was special ... guess we'll never know OR u can find out!
Yes, I think everyone did have an equal chance. They were judged by their musicianship and technique. Of course, not everyone in the world has received equal training and not everyone has a great instrument. There were differences in that way. However, everyone that applied was given equal consideration. As for how much the public voting counted, I'm not sure, but I'll try to get back to you!
My friend, the sax is a great instrument, but the bottom line is that the great composers didn't see a way to include it. Can you imagine Brahms 4th symphony with sax? The only significant classical work that uses sax that I know of is Rimsky-Korsakov's interpretation of Pictures at an Exhibition. It's extraordinary! But unfortunately, few listeners know this work. I only know it because of Kurt Mazur.
Thanks for your kind reply! I would love to hear back from you as to anything you might find out about the voting results. Many feel(including winners and finalists of the YTSO contest) it was just a marketing tool and not really democratic.
lo lol lol ur talking about ur views and listening to other peoples views, dog comes in u say this is my puppy jsut got a hair cut.... then u chuck him away lol
i love rock & roll at heart but classical music will always be the most moving music to me. it will always be the most notable in history books hence the world classical.
oh btw, LOL at the cute dog hehe. Totally agree what you're saying about discovering new things on youtube. Like you and violin hah. Well looking forward to check out this YTSO :P is it live btw? and lol at mentioning pajamas, that's me alright every saturday morning in front of the screen with my coco peebles XD :)
hey i share your ideas... i'm a violinist myself not as good as you though... and i love mixing up wit different genres to expand my musical knowledge. I've been playing reggae, metal, jazz, classical with the violin its kind of hard though... i barelly can play up to third position but i think the ytso its a great idea because of the chance to get to know al the musicians from lots of parts of the world :)
wut in the hell is wrong with this page o.O why is it upside down D: oh and you didnt mention my country xD Philippines...... xD btw you're cute kthnxbai
Wow There's a Canadian???? Way to go. I'm just saying I'm really glad you are trying to get people to listen to classical music I am a trumpet and paino player and really think classical music is really the uneversial music type. Thanks for the video
interesting you say how most people who aren't classically trained or never liked classical music suddenly find something they like because it makes me think about what classical musicians like. most of my friends and i once we're done with our private lessons. master classes, rehearsals, etc. we can't stand it anymore. with today's music most of us like indie stuff ranging from Sufjan Stevens to Smashing Pumpkins, i'm just curious about what you like listening to.
This could very well be the most skilled gathering of musicians in history. I'm looking forward to it :]
Also, great update. I'm glad to know they're not ALL musicians. It just shows that you don't have to surround your life in music to be an extremely skilled musician.

btw, im not joking, they use a lot of classical music, and for their 2003 album, they used the "prague philhamonic orchestra" in their recordings.

They forget that its Symphony music playing in the background of their favourite movies..making the dramatic and suspenseful scenes come 2 life!

But, it's kinda sucks that any kinds of Saxophone family is hardly used in orchestra, especially classical music.....
It's my THE best musical instruments tho..

I do hope you join the orchestra
the one thingpeople dont realise & see the beauty behind playing classical instrument & how alive youmake it.
& the complexity & art behind it.
To me that is beyond comprehension for a lot of people which draws them away from the jedi art.
But orchestras truely awe people out of their nutshell.
& there are actually few orchestras in the world that make perfect jedi music.
Lol love how you just casually threw aside ur dog!
No more animal abuse!
