also those six months you get off is like a teacher you gott to get a odd job or are you guys at a station training?

i ask because ima a SR. in high school who nonvolunteers at a wildland fire station and go to prescribed burns when i can and want to be in a hot shot crew

@pool741 Hotshot crews can be a little harder to get on than engine or helitack because they tend to get better hours, some hotshot crews are harder to get onto then others just because of location and or they have a good rep. if your willing to go anywhere you shouldn't have a problem getting on a crew. working on a engine for your first year that has a hotshot crew is a good way to go. some people work in the winter some people don't it all depends on how well you save you $
