i have this album on vinyl and there's this little crackle in en some of the silences paul drops, i wish you could hear it, it makes the song even more beautiful than it already is.
I'm 22 years old. I was raised on the Beatles. I discovered this album about 3 weeks ago. I have listened to nothing else since then, and this is my favorite song in the world right now.
@atomicwave. I envy you!! When I discovered this album I couldn't believe how deliciously irrestistible it was. Song after amazing song. It's probably Paul's best album. Can you imagine how good the Beatles's albums in 1970 and would have been - with the best off McCartney & RAM, All Things Must Pass, Lennon's first LP and Imagine plus Another Day and Instant Karma and Cold Turkey. That would have added to their legacy and would have been some way to go.
This was the theme song to my recovery over heroin addiction.
I cannot describe the hell involved with detox. But this song is the perfect way to describe the feeling when you start to see the light at the end of the tunnel; when you know it will soon be over. It's nearly every emotion combined into one unexplainable one.
@TheBeatlesArchive I have this LP. Bought it back then. Paul loved his lady and you can hear it especially on this album. Sounds as good today as it did in 71.
This is one of my favorite Paul & Linda McCartney songs from the album "Ram." Paul was such a lucky guy when he found his beautiful long haired lady, namely "Lovely Linda." So sad for Paul & his family when Linda passed. Hope his new marriage is a good one......Thanks for all the memorable music Mr. McCartney & the Beatles! RIP Linda......

Linda's singing is so much better than Yoko's squealing.

The "Love is long" part really reminds me to the "na na's" on Hey Jude... Is it just me?
LeThereBeatles4ever 6 months ago 6
@LeThereBeatles4ever Nope :) It does remind me of that too. Gotta love Linda's singing..

Paul and Linda singing so good together. One of their best from the Album Ram which many fans consider one of McCartney's best works.
