got a ?. been airbrushing about a month and i keep getting catepeller legs when im tryn to do detail. Ive tried all mixing ratios. its either to thin or 2 thick. ive adjusted from 15 psi to 35. im using a snap on dual action gravity feed. please help. thanks also using creatix colors airbrush paint
I'm new to airbrushing and I need a brush, but there are so many types I dunno which one to choose. Any idea on a pretty cheap beginner brush? If I get okay I'm planning to upgrade to an iwata. Oh and your vids are very helpful. Thanks
Im a newbie to the world of Airbrush, but you have been an awesome teacher and an inspiration to a 40 something year old learning to create a new profession!! Thank You so much for your talent and sharing your know how!! PEACE!
@skinz1234 I haven't used Auto Air that much but from what every one says it is way better. Check out coastairbrush(dot)com and look at there new TV Channel.
@bbmustang01 I would write Mickey Harris,Terry Stepfens,Simon Murry or even Eddie Davis on Face Book and ask them the same question.I haven't sprayed Createx before.
@bbmustang01 They only make a single action and a double action. A single action has paint come out the minute you pull the trigger. And a double action has air come out when you push down and paint when you pull back.
thats cool as shit of you to take time to show how to without getting all pissed off, i learned to paint from a guy that made me tape mask and set up jobs for 7 yrs, lol, , when i started doing the colors , clears and single stages, , people that had been painting for yrs thought i had been doing it for 30 yrs, my point is i never got into the airbursh or the pinstriping, i am drawing circles over and over, and plan on getting all if not most of your dvd and cant thank u enough
hey ed, just curious are you cleaning the gun in between colors or do you have multiple guns? and also for the detail work are you using a lower air pressure? sorry for the newbie questions but I'm just getting in to air brushing. thanks
Love your videos, can't stop watching them. I am into rc cars and i'm learning to airbrush so i can paint them. So, i'm curious, have you thought about doing a video for us rc freaks on how paint airbrushed flames on rc bodies? Other videos on yb are poor quality and lack the artistic abilities. Love to see one!
I've just bought a HP BCS but im struggling to do some really fine lines with it would you recommend using a 0.35mm needle set up with it? Ive seen alot of your videos and theyre all great, any tips on paint a chrome effect? Without using chrome if you get what im saying?
Dont wanna step on any toes or anything but why is that you will not use Kustom shop stuff anymore? Business relations go south with Kustom shop? But the main question i have is, the HoK paints are not water based, but what is the solvent to be used to clean out the guns when using the HoK paints? They are expensive paints for practice, but next big project i want good paint, any recommendations? Thank you like always!
@audi97x Kustom Shop is not a company I want my name associated with any more. I want control of my own business and own my own video's. HOK can be cleaned with lacquer thinner. And it really is not that expensive. Have you tried coastairbrush9dot0com
@edhubbs Thanks for the response, and trust me your own business will be great with the work that you do. HOK is still one of my favorite paints for its ease of flow without needing to much tweeking. Thanks for your response, and actually Coastairbrushdotcom is cheaper then the local shop, thanks for the advice :D
i noticed you are now using house of color paint versus kustom color was their a particular reason for the switch? i have been a long time user of both but find the ready to use bottles a great choice
Love your work! These techniques help trigger my creative side even more, then I end up going out to the garge at 3am to try it out. I use mailboxes as my templates. There cheap, quick prep time, and simular to a motorcycle tank that I usually paint. It helps show customers what I can do. Anyways, just wanted to say thank you for what your doing, and would like to meet you someday if you ever make it to WI for a car or bike show someday.
Hi, great video. I am going to buy a load of auto air in the near future. I have a question regarding the auto air though. On the createx/autoair website the colour ranges are, semi opaque, transparent etc.. Is the semi opaque their regular solid colours? like the graphic colours from house of kolor, or will i be able to still see through them after a few coats?
hey nice helpful vid man! 2 questions..... do you use lower air pressure when using a stencil or does it matter? and I also noticed you were letting off the airflow between strokes when most people say to hold it on, is that better to do with a stencil, or do you just paint like that always?
@slipsonic Yes you are supposed to keep the air on all of the time. I do not when I am videoing because I am talking all of the time and when the air is on it drowns out my voice. And yes you can turn down the air when doing a stencil.
@edhubbs man if only i had the money i would get any of those brands. i use the cheapest of the cheap out of a local store and jus try to make it work. thanx keep up the good work
@eye4p41nt It frustrating to use cheap and inferior products when you are trying to improve your skills isn't it? I know when I started out I would just want to give up at times until I finally broke down and paid the money.
@edhubbs hey ed what clear coat do u use? i hear hok has the best doi but ppg seems to be the most popular. i know u used to use kustom shop but u dont use them anymore im guessing since u dont use there ab products anymore.
nice stencils .you make it look so easy lol but think i will order that one i just wish thare was a place in canada where i could get it all the cool stuff comes out of the u s a lol
my brush is giving a kinda longish dot like a football shape patern could u help me with that and i also wanted to know if the paint is making waves and doesnt coat well enough what can i do ?
@hanzithaking With the coverage issue, it sounds like you're spraying way too wet, trying to get coverage in 1 coat. The trick is to build up multiple light coats to get full coverage (about 3 or 4). I'm not sure about the football shape dots. I'd have to see a picture of it. SgtM from theairbrushforum(.)com.
