I got my self yesturday the Canon - 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM ( on sale at Bestbuy.com for
$ 592.00 ) but I think it may be good just for outdoor zooming photography...still thinking to return the lens and get the 18-135mm or 55 to 250mm...hmm :-/
I have a 600d, and i film action water sports with it. I really like it, but the kit lens does not zoom far enough for alot of the situations where i need to film from a distance. I know very little about cameras , so i even need to check if this would fit my 600d?
The main features about this lens that appealed to me, was the longer zoom, but mostly the IS. How effective do you find the stabilization when filming while zoomed in?
@Wiilllllll The IS works good. I did quite a bit of video with this lens. Good lens for the money. If it's what you can spend then I would get one. If you can afford better get a 24-105 F/4 IS
Like the lens also. I looked on CanonUSA web site, and the 18-135mm that was just reviewed cost $499.00. The same 18-135mm USM lens cost at Canon $479.00. That is strange.
I'm new to the DSLR world. Just bought the rebel t3. I am looking for a lens that does exactly what you said this one isnt good for. Inside and sporting. Whats a good lens for these functions for the Rebel T3?
@halo27legend Something with a large aperture. 50mm 1.8 or 1.4 OR even better 70-200 2.8. Wider lens that would be good is the 17-55 2.8.It depends on how much money you have. For a normal person the 50mm 1.4 is good for about 400-500 bucks. The 70-200 f/4 would be okay for about 600 bucks. There are many more Canon lenses. Look for large apertures (lower F numbers)
i got my first dslr, a 60d three months ago with this lens. the lens is a good all around and starter lens. the only downside for me is that it's not macro capable. you need to be like at least 3-4ft away from your subject and then zoom it to be enable to have a macro-like result.
i kinda regret though buying this camera as my starting dslr and having only this lens because it's really a good camera. if my budget permits, i'd like to upgrade to an L lens to put justice on the 60D.
Hi Nate! Which lens would you recommend.. EF-S 18-135mm F/3.5-5.6 IS or EF-S 17-85mm F/4-5.6 IS USM? Which is better in your opinion, do you have experience with the second one? I would like to get 60D and it comes as kit with both of these. Thanks
@radoz10 Oh....I would go with the 18-135 but the 17-85 has SLIGHTLY better image quality at some focal lengths. I would still get the 18-135 if it were me. Good luck.

@supercooled Those two lenses are fine. I have found the more I spend the better results I get......but the way you use lenses makes a lot of difference. I like the 18-135 because you don't need to change lenses to go from wide to long. Tamron make a 18-270 that would be nice. All of these lenses I have now sold. I now use a 17-55 and 24-105. Both of those are over 1000 USD.
I've been looking at getting this lens for my travels around Italy in May. I have a Canon 1100d that I got for Xmas and the 18-55mm kit lens doesn't zoom very far. I'm gonna be in a lot of basilica's and other poorly lit places, is this the wrong lens for me bcos of the issues with light. I'm a total novice, any help would be appreciated. :-)
When i saw this video, i was thinking to buy one of this lens. but when i went to store today, i also saw tamron 18-200mm lens and the sales man said that the tamron is cheaper and is a good lens too.

@acesofgambit No low-end Tamron is better than Canon's low end so depends on what kind of lens you need. If you need one like the 18-135 but want to save money then look at the Canon 18-200 or Tamron 18-275. They both have low image quality but they will do in well lit situations.
@nate42nd thank you for replying. i am looking for all around (at least) lens. i'm a beginner. i got canon 450D with the kit lens 18-55mm and 50mm f/1.8. I am planing to take landscapes or sky bbut my kit lens sometimes don't do well. I am almost out of time because the Chinese New year is coming and my budget is limited. i do portraits and street photography mostly but i also like nature and close up shots. please help me decide. im don't have much knowledge about lenses.
It's a very decent lens to get in a kit but not on its own tho'. Better buy an old manual prime from Nikon or Pentax m42. However, as a kit lens it's a great all-around glass. I do have lens creep with it, specially when facing downwards. If you want the same focal length with higher quality glass, you will spend at least three times the price. If you can spend some cash on glass, just get the body then either a Sigma or Tamron 18-50mm f/2.8 or 24-70mm f/2.8(sigma) and a 70-200mm f/4(Canon L)
@JtodaPha This video was recorded with a macro lens. Either a Tamron 90mm or Canon 100mm. They do make nice video. They have a short DOF so it's hard to keep things in focus.
This lens is NOT worth the investment. It is 1) NOT sharp. and 2) SLOW
The only reason why you would have this one is that so that later on when you move to the better lenses, you will appreciate them much more and why the fixed wide aperatures of 2.8 or 1.4 are more desireable and why people shoot with primes even that they dont zoom. This
@TheKana14 I would get this lens to replace the 18-55 BUT you will not see much better IQ. You will have MUCH better range however. It's a good lens for the price.
@youngladphotographer Most people need to clean the front element (or filter covering it) from time to time. If you never change lenses then you don't need to clean the sensor and rear of lens much.Depends on conditions.
@canonDSLRs If I were really interested in photography as I am.....I would use cheap lenses until you can afford EF lenses which fit any Canon camera. The EF 24-105F/4L is a good one. If you need a wider lens then the 16-35 or 17-40 are good. I might even consider a wide prime lens like the 15mm F/2.8 but that costs a lot.....this 18-135 will get you by for a long time. It just has some problems in low light is all.....
@NonaSoumy This is a good kit choice. There are MANY choies but if you don't plan to get a full frame in the near future, I would consider the 100mm Canon macro...The 10-22 is a great lens. (APS-C only so it will not fit a full frame) The video features of the camera are good. Learn to use the features. I have tried 12800 ISO video and pictures. There are sometimes blown pixels. They turn red or some other color.....but you will hardly notice if at all.......
@eccuulaisaa For shooting comfortably indoors without flash, you'll need a lens that has an aperature of AT LEAST f2.8 or wider (f2.0,f1.4,f1.2). With significantly less light indoors, the only alternative to using a wider aperature lens is bumping up the iso, but then images tend to get noisy. Zoom lens with an aperture of 2.8 are quite expensive ($1100+), so the better choice is to invest in a prime lens, either the 50mm f1.4, or a 28mm f1.8 instead, both of which are under $500.
@eccuulaisaa If your not looking to spend that much on an extra lens, Canon also offers a 50mm f1.8 for $110, and a 35mm f2.0 for $330. Mind you, you get what you pay for in terms of quality. If your unsure about a potential lens, visit a local camera shop that has rentals. Play around with one for a weekend to see if it's worth it for you.
@ApeIncognito Thank you! :) I've been thinking about the Canon 28mm f/1.8 and tamron 18-200mm. The tamron's aperature is pretty small though.. Pretty hard for me to decide..
the 18-55mm lens that comes with the t3i, do you think that it is good enough for a beginner like me? I just want good quality photos. if it is not good enough then what lens do you advice me to buy? thanks in advance.
28-135 is more than just slightly nicer. It's an all around better performer than the 18-135. USM motor allows for much faster focusing and image quality is superior on the 28-135.
@iAmOtakuDesu i assume you're referring to the usm versions, and there is no real answer. 70-300 is good for telephoto shots like portraits and sports, 28-135 is good for everyday use. I'd get both.
I'm probably getting a T3i in the next days. I was thinking about purchasing the camera body only and just get the 18-135mm lens instead of having the 18-55 that it comes with and I can save a few $. Is this a good idea? Do I really need the 18-55? where as I can just get the 18-135.
@nate42nd So should I sell the kit lens 18-55 and purchase this? I was thinking about getting the 55-250 telephoto lens instead, which would be better?
I personally own this lens. I definitely do NOT recommend this lens. The build quality of the canon 18-135 is poor, although the image quality is decent.
If you are considering to buy an entry DSLR, I would suggest you buy the body and the lens separately. For lenses I would go for a Sigma 17-70mm F2.8 or even 18-250mm f3.5.
I am very happy to see this video I was feeling a little stupid spending all that money on that body with this lens now I don't. do you recommend any filter for this lens ?
@NO0Bstatus I do not believe any film cameras will accept any EF-S lenses. I think film cameras from Canon are an "FD" mount. Make sure to verify that for your specific model. Good luck to you.
@thenowuk For low light you need a large aperture lens. For very little money a 50mm 1.8 is a good way to go. Otherwise for 1000 bucks you can get a 24-70 2.8 or 17-55 2.8. Something like that will be a better low light lens. All the best.
Soo.. This would fit my Canon EOS 500D ? And would this lens you are reviewing in the video be better than a 18-200 ? Likee say a Canon EF-S 18-200mm f3,5-5.6 IS or a Sigma 18-200mm F/3,5-6,3 DC OS Canon ? Which one would you prefer? I'm looking for an everything lens, from portrait pictures, to sports and so on... i'm only 16 and have alot to learn, therefore i'm asking you. I'm also looking for a lens with a good zoom... what other lenses would you recomend me if there are better?
I'm getting a canon t3i should I what lens do u think I should get I want an all around lens for video and photography and the max I'll spend is 500 .... What lens or even lenses do u suggest again i could get 2 one for vid and one fornphoto but only 500
@kthapar01 It would be good for video but like everything else a fixed aperture lens would be better. (like a 70-200 F2.8L) but they cost WAY more. This is a good lens for the money. Very good.
@glorycottonian If you are set on this type of lens then the 18-135 has better image quality. I liked the lens but quickly sold it and got some others. (large fixed aperture lenses) Good luck to you.
@nate42nd sir, do u suggest me some other kind of glass(s), i dont have that much idea about this type, just the only thing know about this type is that it will solve my zoom problem and to be very frank i really dont have any sound knowledge regarding the lens(s), please help,....
I am looking at the canon 60d with 18-200 for aviation photograph. Would you suggest the 18-200 or 18-135? I am favouring the 18-200 for the length. Please help
@carlosalgado123 Because inside there is not much light. Even if the lights are on inside it's not enough for a lens. It will have to be opened up all the way and this lens does not open far enough. This is why an F/2.8 or F/1.8 is FAR better.
@nate42nd thank you sir .. im about to purchase my first DSLR camera. and i think Canon 550D is good choice. and im thinking what kit should i get with it, the 18-55 or 18-135? any advice sir? Thank You in advance.
@carlosalgado123 Of those two I would get the 18-135 but consider getting body only and a 50mm F/1.4 if you can. If you cannot afford that get a 50mm F/1.8. That's what I would do. You would have no zoom at first but you would get better images. You could then save for the next lens like a 17-55 F/2.8 even if it needs to be a Sigma or Tamron. It's hard to understand right now but you will be happier when you start to learn and see how much better a fast lens is. PM me or ask any question.
@nate42nd i came to a camera store this morning and i see the Canon Kiss X4 and Canon 550D, Kiss X4 is for $786.76 while Canon 550 is $1,040.14. They say Kiss X4 is cheaper because its from Japan, are those two cameras really identical (except for the name)?
@carlosalgado123 In the US we have the T3i which is the 550D I think. Not sure about the Japanese name. (Kiss X--) but the 550D is a good camera. Small and beginner but good to learn with. Even the 500D would be good to learn with.
@carlosalgado123 have you already bought your camera? go for the kiss x4.. its cheaper.. its all the same.. except from the model name.. i assure you.. i already have one..
@CalSingh Thanks. Another good one is the 18-270 Tamron if you're looking for something in this range which i would not today. I have sold this lens and moved to fixed aperture lenses. Like I said in the vid.....90% of people will love this lens. Good luck. Keep shooting.
Nate do have any issues focusing while shooting tight? Does it goes on a never ending hunt for the subject? i really hate this lens if it's the norm....thanks bud
@nate42nd umm, sorry, but can you explain that for a guy who has no idea what aperture and focal length is? all i want to know is if you like focus on on of two persons, will the person that is out of focus be kinda blurred? im sorry but i am kinda new to all of this, and i just ordered my 550D with this lense kit..
@VFVhho No problem. A lens like this will be fine to start out with. The higher the aperture "F/4" or "F/11" the deeper the depth of field. So if you are shooting a group of 4 people and some are behind the others you might want to set the F stop to F/8 or F/11. Whatever you can do with available light. The higher the number that less light will be coming into the lens and the longer you shutter will have to stay open. With only 2 people F/5.6-8 will work fine. Learn to shoot in Manual.
Get out from the auto mode and use P mode for starters. AV mode you get to control the aperture and the camera selects the shutter speed TV is vice versa. Go read more and shoot more so you can understant fully.
@VFVhho By the way. Congrats on the good choice. The 550D and this lens is great for a beginner. Watch a bunch of my videos and others and it will help you. Come join my Flickr group (same user name) and join our bi weekly assignments. That will help too. Ask questions on the discussion board and everyone will help with whatever you need. All the best. Enjoy the camera.
I am entering Fashion Photography, I want to do it for a living and now i'm changing equipment. I am on a low budget and I would like to know opinion on the utilities for this lenses with my future 5D. I used to shot with a 400D and 2 lenses (a canon 18-55 and a sigma 70-300) that need replacement because they have no stability. May I ask for your advice? Thank you so much!
@racheeel If you're getting a 5D that is a full frame body. I would get a 70-200 or 24-105 or 24-70. They are all 1000 USD but well worth it. If you cannot afford that get a 50mm F1.4. That would be my next choice and perfect for fashion or any other type of photography. All the best to you.
@nate42nd I have 2000 Euro to spend on camera gear, I got a 5D already and now i need the lenses. Will definitly buy a 50mm but I need more. I need something to replace my current lenses that have no stabilization and get me no detail at all from my subjects. I am planing to shoot outside and will need a substitute for my sigma 70-300. and like i said.. i dont have much money to spend because i am a student still and only do small jobs! 2000 was what i could save!Thank you in advance again!
@docInsomnaic A "full frame" body is a body which has a 35mm sensor. They have better high ISO capability and some other benefits. Don't worry about it unless you are pro. Just keep in mind any lens you use on any crop sensor like a T2i will be magnified by 1.5X. Not magnified but it's a good way to see it in your mind. So a 20mm will be 30mm or 100mm will be 150mm. Not a big deal. The T2i is a great option. Almost the same sensor as my 7D...if only the T2i had the focus and ergonomics.
@MrLukasDiSparrow It's great or video, but you can't zoom while shooting video with any lens without making it look like crap. It's hard to zoom with video. You can try. It's a good lens for video. It's a good lens all around except the variable aperture. I sold mine and got a 24-105 F/4L and I like it much more.
I have a canon eos 50D and a lens EFS 18-135mm and I like to take wedding pictures is this a good lens for it. also I agree with it being good for outdoors. It takes beautiful pictures outdoors but indoors its too dark. I have used a flash is that good?
Hi, i really liked your video but I have a question regarding the lense. I have a 18-135 myself and i had a discussion with my dad about this, so I wanted to know more about it. If autofocus is ON and you try to pull focus, you find that the focus ring is "rigid". First time i noticed this i stopped trying to move it so i wouldnt damage it. Can you pull focus even when the lense autofocus is ON, or is something you can't do? Thanks! great video!
@furdurstrandi if the autofocus is on and you try to manually focus you are turning against the motor which could damage it. some premium lenses have 'full time menual focus' and the switch will say 'm' and 'a/m' when on a/m if you turn it by hand it wont be stiff but you can still autofocus without changing the switch
@annejhoanne6 The 18-135 is more useful by far. They are about the same quality lenses. The 55-250 is nice to have for a long reach. I would get the 18-135 if you're thinking about one of these lenses.
Hello I want to buy a Canon 7D, but the lens that comes with the body, here in Portugal, is the EF-S 18-135mm f3.5-5.6 IS. I read somewhere that it is a good lens, but for outdoor, general use. I want to ask what lens is good for indoors, low light pictures at night, for general use, landscapes and indoors without flash and telephoto. Someone talk me out of the EF-S 17-85mm f4-5.6 IS USM or EF-S 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 IS USM. Can you help me? Thanks a lot
@RCPortugal The 18-135 is not a good lens for low light. You need an F/2.8 lens or below to be good in low light. EF-S 17-55 is my favorite. The 18-135 is a good lens but don't plan to shoot in low light or at night with it. The results will not be good.
@KayWildcat Get the 18-135. It's better quality from what I have read. i loved mine. The 18-200 should be about the same for video or stills IF you don't look really close. The 18-135 has better image quality.
@nate42nd: I have this lens and I'm pretty happy with it. To those who said this lens is garbage, might have had a bad copy. Or, maybe I just got lucky to get a good copy. Hehehe!
I got my self yesturday the Canon - 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM ( on sale at Bestbuy.com for

what lens did ou use to record this video? the quality looks great!
what lens would you recommend me to use for recording youtube videos?
JtodaPha 2 months ago
@JtodaPha This video was recorded with a macro lens. Either a Tamron 90mm or Canon 100mm. They do make nice video. They have a short DOF so it's hard to keep things in focus.
nate42nd 2 months ago
This lens is NOT worth the investment. It is 1) NOT sharp. and 2) SLOW
The only reason why you would have this one is that so that later on when you move to the better lenses, you will appreciate them much more and why the fixed wide aperatures of 2.8 or 1.4 are more desireable and why people shoot with primes even that they dont zoom. This
00Q 2 months ago
so is this lens basically the same as the 18-55mm kit lens with more zoom? Because the levels are almost the same.
TheKana14 2 months ago
@TheKana14 That's not quite right but close. The 18-135 is a better made lens.
nate42nd 2 months ago
@nate42nd so would you recommend it to replace my 18-55? (im not really satisfied with it)
TheKana14 2 months ago
@TheKana14 I would get this lens to replace the 18-55 BUT you will not see much better IQ. You will have MUCH better range however. It's a good lens for the price.
nate42nd 2 months ago
@nate42nd okay thanks
TheKana14 2 months ago
@youngladphotographer Most people need to clean the front element (or filter covering it) from time to time. If you never change lenses then you don't need to clean the sensor and rear of lens much.Depends on conditions.
nate42nd 2 months ago
@canonDSLRs If I were really interested in photography as I am.....I would use cheap lenses until you can afford EF lenses which fit any Canon camera. The EF 24-105F/4L is a good one. If you need a wider lens then the 16-35 or 17-40 are good. I might even consider a wide prime lens like the 15mm F/2.8 but that costs a lot.....this 18-135 will get you by for a long time. It just has some problems in low light is all.....
nate42nd 2 months ago
@canonDSLRs Well remember EF-S lenses like this will not fit the 5D series. (or 1D) EF-S lenses will fit any camera from the 7D down the list....

I think I'm gonna buy this kit (EOS 7D + 18-135) for 1560€.
This will be my first professional camera.
You seems to know a lot on the subject so I got some questions :)
- Which Macro lens and Wide angle lens do you recommend me for the EOS 7D ?
- What do you think about HD video on this camera ?
- Did you try to shoot video or picture by night with the 12800 ISO ? How is it ?
(I'd like to film the stars at night.)
Thanks for your time ! :)
NonaSoumy 3 months ago
@NonaSoumy This is a good kit choice. There are MANY choies but if you don't plan to get a full frame in the near future, I would consider the 100mm Canon macro...The 10-22 is a great lens. (APS-C only so it will not fit a full frame) The video features of the camera are good. Learn to use the features. I have tried 12800 ISO video and pictures. There are sometimes blown pixels. They turn red or some other color.....but you will hardly notice if at all.......
nate42nd 3 months ago
is there any lens that is almost like the 18-135 but a bit better? I mean, better to shoot indoors with, for example. :)
eccuulaisaa 3 months ago
@eccuulaisaa For shooting comfortably indoors without flash, you'll need a lens that has an aperature of AT LEAST f2.8 or wider (f2.0,f1.4,f1.2). With significantly less light indoors, the only alternative to using a wider aperature lens is bumping up the iso, but then images tend to get noisy. Zoom lens with an aperture of 2.8 are quite expensive ($1100+), so the better choice is to invest in a prime lens, either the 50mm f1.4, or a 28mm f1.8 instead, both of which are under $500.
ApeIncognito 2 months ago
@eccuulaisaa If your not looking to spend that much on an extra lens, Canon also offers a 50mm f1.8 for $110, and a 35mm f2.0 for $330. Mind you, you get what you pay for in terms of quality. If your unsure about a potential lens, visit a local camera shop that has rentals. Play around with one for a weekend to see if it's worth it for you.
ApeIncognito 2 months ago
@ApeIncognito Thank you! :) I've been thinking about the Canon 28mm f/1.8 and tamron 18-200mm. The tamron's aperature is pretty small though.. Pretty hard for me to decide..
eccuulaisaa 2 months ago
the 18-55mm lens that comes with the t3i, do you think that it is good enough for a beginner like me? I just want good quality photos. if it is not good enough then what lens do you advice me to buy? thanks in advance.
CristinaOcampo8 3 months ago
28-135 is more than just slightly nicer. It's an all around better performer than the 18-135. USM motor allows for much faster focusing and image quality is superior on the 28-135.
edcjunkie 3 months ago
@edcjunkie What's better, the 28 - 135mm or the 70 - 300mm?
iAmOtakuDesu 3 months ago
@iAmOtakuDesu i assume you're referring to the usm versions, and there is no real answer. 70-300 is good for telephoto shots like portraits and sports, 28-135 is good for everyday use. I'd get both.
edcjunkie 3 months ago

sickrides 3 months ago
@sickrides Yes, if it has an EF mount it will work. The T3 is EF (and EF-S)

I'm probably getting a T3i in the next days. I was thinking about purchasing the camera body only and just get the 18-135mm lens instead of having the 18-55 that it comes with and I can save a few $. Is this a good idea? Do I really need the 18-55? where as I can just get the 18-135.

Hi dude ... I know it is not a massive problem not having the numbers on the focus but how do you know when manually Focus the lens to Infinity?
Mar2623 6 months ago
@Mar2623 You just have to "eyeball" it. Infinity position changes due to conditions so look through the lens and do the best you can.

Mar2623 6 months ago
i have a canon rebel Ti 35mm film camera. would this lense work with that camera?
NO0Bstatus 6 months ago
@NO0Bstatus I do not believe any film cameras will accept any EF-S lenses. I think film cameras from Canon are an "FD" mount. Make sure to verify that for your specific model. Good luck to you.
nate42nd 6 months ago
@nate42nd
No EOS film cameras can use EF-S lenses. But All EOS film cameras use EF lenses like their digital counterparts.
FD lenses are from the older Canon film SLR's like the AE-1, and will not fit the EOS range without an adapter.

thenowuk 8 months ago
@thenowuk For low light you need a large aperture lens. For very little money a 50mm 1.8 is a good way to go. Otherwise for 1000 bucks you can get a 24-70 2.8 or 17-55 2.8. Something like that will be a better low light lens. All the best.

@thenowuk Get a 50mm 1.8 for $100. It shoots great in low light.

anubizz3 10 months ago
why it is not good for indoors ? is EF S18-55 IS good for indoors & outdoors ? please
carlosalgado123 11 months ago
@carlosalgado123 Because inside there is not much light. Even if the lights are on inside it's not enough for a lens. It will have to be opened up all the way and this lens does not open far enough. This is why an F/2.8 or F/1.8 is FAR better.
nate42nd 10 months ago
@nate42nd thank you sir .. im about to purchase my first DSLR camera. and i think Canon 550D is good choice. and im thinking what kit should i get with it, the 18-55 or 18-135? any advice sir? Thank You in advance.
carlosalgado123 10 months ago

They say Kiss X4 is cheaper because its from Japan, are those two cameras really identical (except for the name)?
carlosalgado123 10 months ago
@carlosalgado123 In the US we have the T3i which is the 550D I think. Not sure about the Japanese name. (Kiss X--) but the 550D is a good camera. Small and beginner but good to learn with. Even the 500D would be good to learn with.

does this have depth of field?
VFVhho 11 months ago
@VFVhho It has a variable aperture. I think it is 3.5-5.6 depending on focal length.
nate42nd 11 months ago
@nate42nd umm, sorry, but can you explain that for a guy who has no idea what aperture and focal length is? all i want to know is if you like focus on on of two persons, will the person that is out of focus be kinda blurred? im sorry but i am kinda new to all of this, and i just ordered my 550D with this lense kit..
VFVhho 11 months ago
@VFVhho No problem. A lens like this will be fine to start out with. The higher the aperture "F/4" or "F/11" the deeper the depth of field. So if you are shooting a group of 4 people and some are behind the others you might want to set the F stop to F/8 or F/11. Whatever you can do with available light. The higher the number that less light will be coming into the lens and the longer you shutter will have to stay open. With only 2 people F/5.6-8 will work fine. Learn to shoot in Manual.
nate42nd 11 months ago
@nate42nd 1 question, how do i change the aperture, and shutter speed on this camera? i cant figure it out... all i can change atm is iso..
VFVhho 11 months ago
@VFVhho
Get out from the auto mode and use P mode for starters. AV mode you get to control the aperture and the camera selects the shutter speed TV is vice versa. Go read more and shoot more so you can understant fully.

All the best to you.

racheeel 11 months ago
@nate42nd could you please explain what "full frame body" means in comparison as to like the t2i which is not... thanks a bunch
docInsomnaic 11 months ago
@docInsomnaic A "full frame" body is a body which has a 35mm sensor. They have better high ISO capability and some other benefits. Don't worry about it unless you are pro. Just keep in mind any lens you use on any crop sensor like a T2i will be magnified by 1.5X. Not magnified but it's a good way to see it in your mind. So a 20mm will be 30mm or 100mm will be 150mm. Not a big deal. The T2i is a great option. Almost the same sensor as my 7D...if only the T2i had the focus and ergonomics.

Thanks! great video!
furdurstrandi 1 year ago
@furdurstrandi if the autofocus is on and you try to manually focus you are turning against the motor which could damage it. some premium lenses have 'full time menual focus' and the switch will say 'm' and 'a/m' when on a/m if you turn it by hand it wont be stiff but you can still autofocus without changing the switch
