The real history is that Sun Jian slained Hua Xiong, it had nothing to do with Guan Yu. And Guan Yu only killed Yan Liang but not Wen Chou, he slew Yan Liang with one stroke as he did not expect Guan Yu to come.

To give you facts about Guan Yu, his style name is Yunchang, and he's younger than Liu Bei by a year, and he's much younger than Cao Cao as well.
i end up here when i search for the "replacement" face potrait for my "ROTK XI" game.....at first glance i disapoint with the cast for the three brothers, in "ROTK XI" they're handsomely potraited, while in this tv series liu bei and guan yu have a look-down-woried-too-much face, and zhang fei look like a tramp. i think the movie focusing too much on cao-cao thus neglected the three brothers existance.

You can't take that as real history....we often say it's 70% history, 30% fantasy(I'm chinese by the way). But in most chinese legend(not history book) about war, there is always a rule(amazingly every warlords obey it) that generals duel first, and soldiers fight second :D

i' m thai this chinese story best known as "Sam Gog" in thailand. thai people love watching chinese movies& TVs. Tony Jaa (cambodian Angkor ethic group) loves Bruce Lee & Jackie Chan, and initiates Thai plus chinese action. Thai kids aged 6 years understand and love watching chinese kungfu.
You can find this series with english subtitles on ebay. Just type in "three kingdoms dvd" and scroll down the page, you'll see it. The problem is that it is the first version out and is crazy overpriced. Wait a couple months and you should be able to pick it up for like 40-50 bucks.
I love this story, and I'm sure I'd love this series-- is there somewhere to either A. Purchase he set, or B. a working torrent with english subtitles somewhere?
the problem with this series is that cao ren is chosen as the "dumb subordinate" character to be a foil for cao cao. but at this time in history cao ren is still very young and has barely come into his own yet as a proper officer. just doesn't make sense when you consider later events historically.

wow this is like so opposite of the older version cause the ally forces are inside the castle and dong zhuo's army are outside the wall. lol...and plus i like this guan yu character more than the previous actor cause this one knows more martial arts in reality.

I love this story, and I'm sure I'd love this series-- is there somewhere to either A. Purchase he set, or B. a working torrent with english subtitles somewhere?

the problem with this series is that cao ren is chosen as the "dumb subordinate" character to be a foil for cao cao. but at this time in history cao ren is still very young and has barely come into his own yet as a proper officer. just doesn't make sense when you consider later events historically.

u can watch this at mysoju . com they dont have all subtitles and episode yet but this was one epic ass battle :] hua xiong killed acouple good generals and this peisode gave me the chills because the other war lords looked down on liu bei and his brothers lmao if there was sub it will send chills down ur spines too :]]]

@BoiHmonbYang that's right! In the 1994 version, they didn't even show the fight... except Zhang Fei beating the drums. Historically, Hua Xiong was killed by Sun Jian... and the 3 brothers didn't even participate in this coalition. =)

wow this is like so opposite of the older version cause the ally forces are inside the castle and dong zhuo's army are outside the wall. lol...and plus i like this guan yu character more than the previous actor cause this one knows more martial arts in reality.

The Jin did win, but not really. The Jin lasted so short, you might as well say, the Xianbei of the north won by exploiting it. Unlike the 1994 version, the 2010 version at least gave Guan Yu some screen time, as he cuts down Hua Xiong...lol..Btw, I have already watched the first 4 episodes. It rocks with new technology, new actors, more in-depth story...
