I was at this show. Right about where this video was taken...total bummer about the fall. Jim really wasn't doing anything spectacular at the time. I think he was just stepping forward a bit to finish the song. But the lights went out. I thought at first he was getting into the crowd, guess not. Anyway they did such a good job for those first six songs, I think it was hard for anyone to want to boo them for cancelling. Just hope they make it back to Iowa City. Drag bout the upcoming gigs.
I feel for the hugely talented Jim, the band, & for all the dedicated fans. My sis is a UI nurse; Jim's been released & on the road to recovery. My son & I were lucky enough to catch the show in Seattle on the 27th; we expected mere greatness but were blown away! The band handled a painful situation with grace, which, it seems, most of the attendees took their cue from. Iowa City (my home town) knows how to rock, and knows how to behave well! Great band; great fans. "The Hippies were right!"
Dude, that show was so rad too! Been waiting so long to see these guys and I had second row!! p.s. dude if you don't think Jim can sing you're a fuckin retard and shouldn't have been at the show in the first place. Get well Jim, and come back!
ya ur a moron just trying to get people to respond to ur idiotic comment, anyone who has seen this band live knows they are the real deal... go back to commenting on dashboard confessional videos
My friend and i were right behind these people at the show and he taped the whole thing including the fall. We're not gonna post it... too much respect. It was pretty dark anyway, you hear it more than see it.
post the fall... I don't understand why every fan is so touchy about visually seeing the fall... I'm a huge fan and just want to see and hear the fall for further evidence to suit my concern for James Olliges Jr
It may also have been the stage. I think it was made of the same kind of platform risers we used for show choir in high school. Those things can be really slick.
poor jimmy. i feel for patrick having to announce. long live MMJ!

Maybe when he comes back he will have learned how to play guitar and sing.

Your sense of humor is not so acute. (Acute, by the way, means "sharp" or "keen".) But fuck you anyway.

Jim has probably one of the best voices i've ever heard live, flawlessly atomospheric. You have apparently not been to too many shows...
