  • @danishsatire That´s false motherfucker.

  • It,s always nice to have a newspaper to read on the way down !

  • casta navarra!!

  • Yes correct, all top 10 riders in 90 was doped.

Bjarne Riis, Zulle, Virenque, Indurain, Ullrich, Pantani etc etc..

Theese guys was kings and it was still great to watch..

  • This was the time of the heaviest doping in cyclism. EPO already existed and couldn't be detected. EVERY top rider in the world was doped. But it was a magnificent time, with races full of attacks and we fans didn't know anything yet.

Indurain was an amazing Tour rider, Chiapucci was just too limited in the timetrials, but was such a fun rider to watch. 1990 - 1997 are great years.

Nothing has changed, EVERY top riders are still doped, but cyclism pretty much sucks now.

  • Fignon is class!

  • LeMond is a bitter old man that's full of hate because Lance surpassed him as the greatest American cyclist ever (which is definitely an understatement).

LeMond, I wish you'd just retreat to your antique-filled cabin and quit bombarding us with the trash you write for cyclingnews. You have no proof that Lance doped, so please shut your mouth about it.

  • Indurain only won 2 stages outside the Time trials in the tour de france. Lance Armstrong >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Indurain. Indurain one of the worst champions in history, his defensive tactics was appaling and simply took advantage of a poor era in cycling

  • @jackdanielss what a stupid comment , he was the best of his time , it's that simple , if you put armstrong and indurain together in their prime , man you would see a close race , different styles but close , just check out the vid where indurain passes armstrong in a time trial like he is standing still.

  • @jackdanielss A poor era in cycling? Maybe you should read a book on cycling. Then comment. LeMond, Fignon, Roche, Bugno, Delgado, LeBlanc, Chiappucci, Rominger. At Indurain era, he beated 4 Tour de France winners. Armstrong beated who? I don't know, maybe his team mates, who worked for him all time. And the track winner criterium is meaningless. Indurain didn't won't so many tracks as Armostrong because he was a bad sprinter (of course, he didn't stand up of his bike, never)

  • @Ardobri listen ardobri. ARMSTRONG IS GOING DOWN. LEMOND IS THE GREATEST!!

  • lance drugstrong

  • down down down

  • dope ran wild in the sport threw these yrs look it up, Contador SUCKS hahaha

  • Miguel was very strong, But Chiappucci was an example of courage and madness

  • This is the year when epo really kicked off.

  • @nonfictionone Yes... just when Amstrong started... ;)

  • LeMond got destroyed on this day. This was officially the end of his run at the top. I think he lost 7 minutes.

  • 5'08 max :p

  • Miguel Indurain.

  • Chiappucci volava in salita..

  • indurain el puto amo del ciclismo

  • Indurain Indurain Indurain

  • Please, do NOT compare Lance Armstrong to Miguel Indurain. "El Navarro" was from another planet, a REAL cycling rider. He won in the years of Pantani and Chiappucci, not in the years of Beloki or Zulle.....

And he won other races, NOT just the Tour de France.

  • don miguel retired precisely in the year when epo doping was provable...

will we ever know what he and lance did?

  • i agree with you.... Miguel Indurain was a better TDF rider. Lance just did not have credible competition. Lemond was the best rider that America ever produced. Facing Hinault, Fignon, Kelly, Delgado, etc.... Lance was winning when Rominger, Pantani, and Indurain were on their way out... If they were all in their prime and Lance was winning, thats a different story, but Indurain in his prime was unstoppable.

  • jan ullrich, Alexander Vinokurov CANCER

  • "Indurain makes me sick because he's actually a really nice guy. You can't actually work yourself up, there's no hate involved, no anger. He's a really nice bloke and a true champion." — Chris Boardman

  • 5 tours

    2 giros

1 campeonao del mundo de contrareloj

2 campeonato del mundo de carretera

1 Juegos olipicos de 1996 contrareloj

Tuvo el Record de la hora

    Who is Lance Amstrong?

  • i see your point. the ONLY race the US cares about, which isn't much due to the piss poor coverage, is the Tour de France. Many Americans don't even know of the other tours that Armstrong did not even compete in, like the Giro di Italia, which Indurain won twice in the same years he won the tour.

  • Armstrong thought the other grand tours were too easy, and the TdF is the biggest race of the year, so why not? And according to Lemond, 1991 is when guys really started doping, because he couldn't keep up anymore, but he was getting sick from all the lead pellets still in his body.

  • how can one say the other grand tours were too easy without having competed in them? a TDF specialist, but missing some kudos for not even competing in other tours like eddy mercx and indurain, who won races other than the tour. to judge someone based on one tour simply belittles all other tours. a range of victories as diverse as indurain's and mercx's trumps armstrong's 7 victories. armstrong just didn't want to risk losing his form for the tour and didn't compete like indurain and mercx.

  • Armstrong did compete in the Vuelta, though I don't think he ever road the Giro. He was all about the Winning the Tour, so that's where all the training went. The Giro is too close to the start of the Tour for him, so he didn't compete there. The Dauphiné was his prep. Let's not forget Armstrong was also Jr. and Pro World road race champion. My point is this guy won lots of races, and 7 TdFs are over the top, only Lemond could have done this if he didn't get shot and cheated by the French.

  • rouche, hinault, indurain, merck, all won giro tour doubles in one year, and why? cause they tried and had the strenght to do it. Id love to to see lance come back and win a double, he may have to like contador this year , he might not be let in the TDF

  • all the tours are tough to win, but real champions win 2 or 3 grand tours in the one year, lance only went for 1, contador has won 2 this year, he knows whata great champion should be, hes from europe,

  • u think contadors better than armstrong? does it matter what races he entered the fact is he destroyed any one who challenged him in the tour

  • no doubles, no tripples, nough said

  • 7 tours

    1 wc

    3 cancer

  • SOME 1 HU WON 7 TOURS

  • no giro, no vuelta, 1 trick pony

  • ino ye i take it back he only won 7 tour de frances , hes a shit cyclist any 1 can do tha, i take it all back

  • glad u saw sense

  • could u do it?

  • sure if i only focused on one race like lance, look out for me in 2009! my name is Vino, lance will help me win!

  • vinokurov duznt even no if hes racin the tour yet does he?

  • he will, the minister in kazakstan who funds the team is his best mate, hes a hero back home

  • Quale Vino? Chianti o Merlot? :)

  • @roft23 I don't think you know how Jeopardy works..

  • @roft23 Who is Lance Armstrong?

    SEVEN TDF.

    Have a nice day.

    :D

  • @HayateAce yes but 7 tdf is all armstrong had, not to mention the fact he was probably stoned as a donkey for most or all of them, whereas indurain has won more and was just generally a better rider

  • @roft23 Lance is the one that won 7 tours...after everybody thinks that he would never ride a bicicle again.

  • They? Everyone? I don't remember in any case, when everyone's test was positive. Please put down what they really took, and how it turned out. I'm interested in what you "know".

  • hi ! yes everyone on the top of classification. not possible to ride without products on top line ( yes maybe one day... but not a tour de france ... ) what they took ? read the books and comments of Willy Voet ( massacre a la chaine ), or then other testimonials like Mentheour, Manzano, etc.

I tell you this because riding as elite amateur from 1985 to 1990...

  • All right. I can see, you know what you say, but I always give a chance for innocence. What if there is only one clean rider in the peloton!? If it would be me, I would be angry for your words. I respect your inner sight, but by an other point of wiev, it can be a shame for cycling itself... I'm a rider too, and I think, I could never ride like theese champs, not even under the influence of EPO, cortisol, testosteron, etc. Cycling=doping is a bad slogen. By the way, what about the other sports?

  • hi, same matter on the other sports... see cross country, soccer, kayak, athletics, etc...

there is too much money interest on in, so if u win it is ok , if not you stay home....

on my elite race years I finished races... but no chance against several champs there... this not all races, on some I got to arrive better, on others very late... and it was not because I was weak or not in good shape...

  • You're wrong mate - Indurain had bigger lungs, there is no drug that can do that for you, it's just genetic.

Most europeans migrated from the middle east and Iran - hence the term "Aryan". The people of northern Spain where Indurain is from, are ancient pre indo-europeans, they have a different genetic make-up.

Guys like Indurain caused many other guys like Riis and the whole T-Mobile team to take EPO to compete.

  • hahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah

  • look it up you're indo europeans

north europeans - you're all iranians in origin LOL owned. Hard.

    So very hard

  • i so don't care if i'm iranian, indian or whatever. but if you believe that indurain won because of his big lungs then you probably also believe armstrong won because he rode with a higher cadence than his competitors.

  • A sad day for fans of Lemond.

  • A sad day for fans of Lemond but it witnessed the birth of a new champion

  • great !!! awesome video !
