I think his playing is fine. I think the gear is a problem. I bet if you give this guy a stratocaster, a nice tube amp, an old big muff pedal and a decent delay pedal he would sound 100% better.

Nice version. Try to record plugging your guitar straight into effects chain and then to "line in" on your computer. Or just play not to loud because what you did is a bit like a warmup of the orchestra ;) Keep rocking mate!
