  • This was David Wise, right? God damn, he's awesome.

  • "Thou hath discovered potion of levitation"

    -classic

  • 2:51 "I'll let you find your own way out, bye bitch."

  • The only not-great music in this game is the low health song at 3:01. I would commit suicide within the game just to get back to the good stuff.

  • damn! :)

  • u kicked to death a bat...

  • i lov ehow the good music just loops ahha!this brings back so many memories oh man nostalgia, shield of protection lols!

  • It amazes me the extreme patience I had to sit and beat games like this as a kid.

  • I remember when I was younger and used to poke at the bad guys by jumping into them from the side, video game physics would screw with my mind and make me think, "That's now how swords work! You can't just poke someone in the side with it while jumping without actually swinging the sword and hurt them! Wait..."

  • My parents used to rent this game or Megaman 3 for me back in the day! Never got this game but I loved it! I'm going to search for a quick run through of this game!

  • BAD.

    ASS.

  • I used to hate the part in this game where the entire floor was made of lava and you had to stand on top of a pillar of fire in order to get back to the higher level.

  • GREAT game GREAT music. Such memories. I've beaten this game many times since I was a tyke it never gets old what a classic.

  • ha! nice, he just cuts the woman loose and takes off...

    Somehow, that's just classic.

  • Hey, wait a minute.

Did anyone notice that there is a song missing?

Where is the boss battle theme?

Even tho the rest of the soundtrack is amazing, that piece is probably my favorite song from the game.

doot, doot, doot, DOOT, dododododododododo, doo-doo-doo-doo doot

Wizards and Warriors Music (NES) - Boss

Look for that vid. You will see what I mean.

    Surprised it wasn't included!

  • David Wise did the music for this game. This was also his first video game that he did music for.

  • Thou hath discovered HORN.... wut?

  • Anyone know the name of the theme at 3:00 - 3:23? I know when your health meter goes very low this what music kicks in. I love it. Would love to download it somehow

  • Like Nimbus Land from SMRPG

  • Easily a classic. The near death/dying music is still the best one.

  • Is this game related to Dungeons & Dragons? Anyway, I love the music.

  • wizards and warriors is hands-down THE best game for the nes.

AND! The main theme ( the first one ) is my theme song! :D

  • I celebrate my life to this piece 4:49

    Greatest soundtrack EVER!

  • 3:00 ... this is the music that I contemplate my life to.

  • this noise 0:38 used to haunt me as a child

  • This game is the most satisfying and enjoyable of the three. Great boss fights, and an ending actually worth a damn, as opposed to 3's...

  • All this music is great, but particularly like the bit that starts at around 2:35

  • I like the remix.

  • This might sound bizarre, but I always thought the "about to die" music sounded a tiny bit like the melody to the verses in Swing Out Sister's "Breakout"; I was always waiting for the main bad guy (Milkil or Malkil whatever his name was) to come out and start going "Don't stoppppp, to asssssk..." (like the chorus to that popular eighties song)

  • I love the ending, how it looks like kuros is stomping on the ashes of the bat.

  • Jumping inside that tree... if you should miss a limb, i hope you have the 'feather of feather fall' ;)

  • I can honestly say without shame that this entry of music from Wizards & Warriors for the Nes, gives me orgasms! I LOVE IT!

  • Holy shit kick pwnage.

  • this game should be called "The Day my Dad got lost in the woods with nothing but his Bottle of Viagra"

  • wow, i haven't seen (or heard) this game in 20+ years! I spent so much time playing this game. Loved it!

  • i'm glad I didn't buy this game back in the day

  • @luno44 why?

  • @retrogamer32X It looks really annoying. It reminds me of the mood I got in when I rented kid icarus and I felt lost and mad.

  • @luno44 Looks? You havn't even played it? In that case you should not be saying it sucks. This is in fact one of rare's finest games! It has a easy but good plot, Fun platforming, stunning music, Good progression of the levels and enemys, and overall is a great game. There is only one point where i wasn't having fun. One GODDAMN bubble jump. (If you have played this, you know the one.) That was the only part where the challange of the game when to the level of cheap. That was it!

  • @retrogamer32X Not to mention the ITEMZ!! And that castle near the end that is like 50 stories tall. The guy in this video breezed through the first two levels, but it took me and my friends hours.

  • Focus on the low health music for about 5 minutes, it starts to freak you out.

  • sounds like something from bach

  • the music to this game is epic!

  • loooooove this! thanks for bringing back some sweet memories! also,i remember my brother lent our wizards and warriors to some friend of his and we never got it back!!!! aaargh! i should track that dude down........

  • That boots of force is just not fare :P

  • THE BEST MUSIC EVAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

  • The music you hear when you fight a boss in Wizards and Warriors, seems like i've heard it before....many times in several places. Does anyone know where aside from Wizards and Warriors that music comes from?

  • @HelloFade2 back in 2nd grade we sang a song about halloween that had the same boss melody.. ha-la-ween issss coooomming ha ha ha..

  • To hear the Greensleeves music, watch these three videos:

    1 - v=WeppfEJrZos (watch between 6:00 and 7:30)

    2 - v=tt4Atiy3Ghk (watch between 0:05 and 5:50)

    3 - v=BRWNQ7J330A (watch between start and 5:45)

The Name Entry music can be heard in the 3rd video starting from the 8:05 mark.

  • ahh the memories this brings back. Thou hath discovered the Cloak of Darkness! Oh god that utterly useless piece of crap item and the frustrating difficulty of this game.

  • @Slash65355 and once you got the boots o` force everything went downhill from there.

GOD I FUCKING LOVE THIS GAME.

    i hath discovered gems.

    wait a minute.

    oh no.

    OH NO.

    IM A NOSTALGIAFAG!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • dude this soundtrack kicks major ass

  • WTB a virtual console version on the wii!!!!!! come on nintendo you have this vast library of classic gems you are letting waste away

  • Thou hath wasted thy fucking time.

  • omg - i frickin loved this game.... even my mom played it... omg i feel so damn old now! i don't know about anyone else but my favorite song was whenever that knight got the invisiblity cloak... friggin awesome!

  • 4:15 song always got me pumped. to bad it was only used for a short time in the game

  • Damn....this music really does bring me back to childhood. I remember when it first came out....Wow...I'm old.

  • @WilyMachine i remeber playing this game like 20 years ago i'm getting old 2

  • 2:36 FTW! I could listen to that and "The Silence of Daylight" from Castlevania 2 all day long...

  • I'm 7 and sitting at home when my dad comes home and hands me this game. The next few weeks of my young life were dedicated to this game. Great music, Great memories.

  • Oh god YES!! HAHA! Shit, this brings back a lot of memories!! :44 was my jam! I loved that!!

I had such a hard time beating this game, but it was one of the few games I didn't get mad at because I loved the music!

"Thou hath discovered dagger of throwing" LOL! Childhood memories rule!

  • @GialloHorror The dagger of throwing was key.

  • This game and it's soundtrack is one of my all-time favorites.

I don't really like Iron Sword or Wizards & Warriors III...

I kinda hated those ones :/

  • I always liked the dying music. It did get annoying after awhile, but it was very intense and I remember fighting my way to get meat or just pass the board. Still cool to this day.

  • love this game :D

  • The only thing we need now in regards to this music are 16-bit renditions a la David Wise's work on the Donkey Kong Country games.

  • How I loved this game and its music!

  • Has anybody noticed how similar the potion music is to the Twilight Zone theme? Only more upbeat and less menacing?

  • I demand 5 minute loops to all of these tunes, NAO.

  • I wish 3:22 wasn't so dang short. So good but gets a bit repetitive.

  • Dislike the game...very much like the soundtrack

  • I like the boots of whoop ass! LOL!

  • I used to watch my older bro play this when I was little. So trippy. I wish games today could capture that feeling. The same with the first Metroid. the metroid sequels just don't have that same atmospheric feeling.

  • SUCH good memories of playin this game growing up. thanks for an awesome post!

  • I always liked the low health music, even thought it makes it sound like the game thinks it funny that you are almost dead.

  • @CaptainFussenpepper

Apparently that tune would be remixed somewhat as the victory theme for completing a level in Donkey Kong Country, a game Rareware developed (David Wise also did music for that, of course).

  • I was always amazed at how minimal David Wise's compositions were on NES, considering his brilliiant work on the SNES..I do love the bassline on the second track, though,

  • whats the name of the song that starts at 2:37 haha that one hit me right away and thats why i remember playing this game although i never fished it :( lol dammn you mom why did you have to sell my nintendo!!!

  • Can someone pm me and tell me how to CREATE music for free. I create video games and I want to put my own music in them. PLEASE HELP!

  • @ 3:22

Remember this music during that insane castle/tree (i forget which it was) jumping fest? I have that music burned into my head from the numerous times I had to replay that part.

I've only ever played the first one but wow...excellent music and a classic on the nes.

  • Castle

  • [Dagger of Throwing] still is my favourite translation ^_^ All hail the dagger! <3

  • Lawls, nice job giving those bats the FOOT.

  • @DroneR00 Yup, nothing in that game is more powerful than a good ol' Boot to Da Head.

  • this was my first game i ever owned for th e NES. Marrio and duck hunt ofcoruse, but was my first single store bought game, I was soo amazed at this game when i was a kid. I beat this game when i was 7 yrs old, then beat part 2 and 3 later down the road.

  • This game was awesome I remember playing it from age 7 to 13 I still own the cartridge but I got to get an NES so I can play it again man I miss it

  • This music never gets old! XD

  • @FireKirby7 The music does, but the awesomeness doesn't ^~

  • NO U

  • @luisonia1218

wow i remember this stupid name Luisonia1218

  • Dude you have to put the rest of the game up please sir.

  • You forgot the classic high-score theme song which is one of my fave of Wizards & Warriors :)

  • @sorcerykid

It's mostly the same tune as the forest theme, just jazzed up.

  • @ClassicTVMan81 Huh? The high score theme and forest theme aren't anything alike.

  • hands down, the NES and original game boy had some of the best non-orchestrated, non-rare music.

  • This is RARE music: its David Wise (same guy who did DKC series)

  • @evilmidget This game was made by Rare.

  • @evilmidget non-rare? This is Rare. David Wise.

  • the first is the best lol

  • this game IMO is strange but not bad :) it is kindof fun too play.. it is also a bit of a challange..

    the music is also cool^^

    i have all 3 W&W games :D

  • The music is very good and memorable, but in a way drives me crazy. Maybe it was a bad year in my life when I played this game.

  • I love the opening melody. It sounds like Bach or Handel. Very baroque. I wonder if it is an old song or written for the game.

  • 4:49 FTW

  • the song at 2:37 would drive me mad.

  • Nah that one is quite good, but the one who starts at 3:02 would drive me mad for sure!

  • fucking great. This is my fave game all time right above bond for the 64. This also has the best music of any game all time.

Thanks for posting this... the memories came flooding back when I was 6 and this game came out.

I actually use a couple sound bits from this game as my cell phone ringer.

  • I've never played or even seen gameplay of any of the W&W games and watching this was just stunning. Not only is the music AMAZING, but the game looks really fun, too. I'll have to get it one of these days.

  • Ah, this game is timeless!

  • Not to mention the most frustrating games I ever played.

  • This was the most confusing game I ever played.

  • best game ever, love the last song when u get the uber poten

  • what are great game. classic

  • 4:50 bliss

  • one of the best NES games ever

  • Another game that was hard yet addictifying! XD Very unique gameplay mechanics.

  • Thou hast discovered gems.

  • 3:23 is my fav in this game

  • so simple and beautiful

  • Oh man! Wiizards and Warriors!! I love this game!

  • Probably the best game ever.

  • Man I LOVE this game.I remember being like 4 years old playing this and thinking this game was creepy as hell lol. I dont think Iever beat it,always died infront of the castle.Awesome music at 3:24

  • as far as a jumping game, this was baptism by fire! Talk about insane training in hand eye coordination on jumping on tiny landing spots..LOL. LOVED it!

  • Now THIS brings back memories!

  • lol this game makes me think of pure old school nes bleepin and beepin

  • at 3:24 sounds great =)

  • Super Classic¡¡¡¡¡

  • Reminds me of the Passacaglia from Handel's sixth suite for clavicembalo. At least in the beginning.

  • "Boots of Lava Walk" "Dagger of Throwing" and "Feather of Feather Fall" FTW

  • 1:40 just sounds poorly emulated...

  • True. It's really bad.

  • I loved this game, I was just thinking the other day about it randomly... In my mind it existed but I wasn't sure whether it was a real game... But I looked up levitation and game and wala lol

  • OH SHIT 3:03 hes about to DIE

  • awesome.....man...teary....*sniff

this game was freakin hard, had a lot of secrets too. CLASSIC

  • Music at 2:37

    I fucking Love YOU

    Damn IT

  • god that music was so annoying to me as a kid when i would fall all the way down. but now it's gold.

  • Okay, in all honesty I've never played this game but I like the music.

Can anyone tell me the names of the songs in this video? I'd like to arrange some sheet music for this game. I wanna see some of this stuff play on piano.

  • Lol when I was a kid id rent this game and id always wondewr what the fuck I was supposed to be doing.

  • as a child i would fall asleep with the sounds and images of this game running through my mind. crazy.

  • wizards and warriors one of the best of all time music video games ever

    I SWEAR

  • at 2:37 I love this theme music and no one has played it on piano yet which sucks

  • This game brings back memories stronger than any other, mainly due to the music. Sure there were others, Mario 1-3, Doom, Street Fighter.. but this one is sooo burned-in.

  • Yes that is the song that plays as the potion song. It is cutt off at the end.. and if anyone knows where to find the full mp3 let me know. thanks for posting the video, brings back memories

  • My dad and I once played this game all night long until we beat the final boss wizard. It was awesome.

  • Personally, I love the theme at 3:25... always did! How English !

  • They saved the best theme for last. 4:50

  • I agree with you completely

  • You can almost imagine the theme being played by a harpsichord.

  • What is the name of the soundclip that plays at 4:09? I need to make a remix of that!

  • God i miss this game, i used to have it but i think i drove my parents crazy with it so they got rid of the game XD

  • lol this music is forever burned into my mothers brain from when i was a child

  • I loved this game! Thank you for posting this and reminding me of it. My favorite music though was the Greensleeves-like music when you get to the castle. Great stuff. I'd love to hear that again. More, more!

  • @Sylver1432

Is that the music which is the underscore for the last two levels in the game, before the ultimate battle with Malkil?

  • 2:38. Love that part

  • I loved W&W and its soundtrack! Even though it's highly-rated, I think it has to be the most underestimated game ever -- not many give the player unlimited time, unlimited lives, the most powerful weapons in the first level, yet can remain exciting & fun to explore all the way through *and* have good replay value.

  • This is one of the greatest games ever created! Whooo! beat it too, several times!

  • omg 3:02 to 3:23 the music that plays when your near death! I love that music!!!!

  • Levatation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i had this game SOOOOO long ago but i forgot the name of it. Brings back memories...

    *tear-tear*

  • It might just be me, but does the song that starts at 4:08 remind anyone else of the underground (level 4) theme in the original Castlevania?

  • Waouuuh les souvenirs!

    Vraiment genial merci :D

  • I love this songs!!! :D

  • Thou hast obtained the dagger of throwing

  • lol

  • Thou hast obtained...

    BOOTS OF FORCE!!!

  • god this reminds me of 1990 and 1989 when i was 3 and 4 yrs old

  • boots of force <3

  • such an awesome game! :-P

  • you saved the best tune for last

  • its like going back in time

  • THOU HAST DISCOVERED GEMS

  • so true =D
