I agree. One wouldn't expect to see this much of a deep spiritual wisdom in a movie. I watch it over and over from time to time - to me watching the movie gives me an impression as if visiting a real 'starec' . Yes, bravo to the crew who worked on this...I figure the movie like a mirror reflects each of our own sin- I just ask myself which character do I feel deep inside more like and, if not lying myself, the truth comes out instantly...

A great piece of Art, one of the greatest movies I've ever seen here in France after the great Tarkovsky... We can be christian or not ( I'm non-christian ) but we have the same beauty to admire, the same Life to serve and the same Good Principle to observe. This film is a great and true both russian and UNIVERSAL masterwork... Thanks a lot for sharing!
