I'm answering it because it seems sincere and I would have wondered that too. My parents bought the dress as part of my Sweet 16 present. It wasn't something they would buy everyday but it really wasn't as expensive as it looks. The wardrobe ladies helped me fix it up a little to make it unique. Hope that answers your question.
