Freetar is OK, but it's not that good. You can't sync notes to the beat line, and although you can still evenly space out notes, for fast parts you the notes will become uneven.

Also you can't do drum/bass/vocals

You forgot you can convert the .SNG files into a .MIDI and import the notes into Frets on Fire :D but of course you need a good quality song or else it turns out squeaky. That happens to me alot.

The program is great, the only thing that could make the overall idea better is that one could load these files onto another program with a better GH like layout. So the notes actually fall down the screen like in the game. That would be awesome. The sideways slant thing doesn't really work well, for me atleast.

you load a real song file and then you use this applciation to make a sequence of notes to hit with your guitar hero controller. (or keyboard if you don't have a PS2-USB converter)

what an awesome application. i can't wait for the second program to come out so that this editor will be alot more useful than it already is.

Gah. Bryce, when someone says "notes" it's not sounds he's talking about. It's the icons representing those sounds we call notes.

That's what he means by being able to create your own notes: not producing sounds, but adding each icon in that synchs with those sounds.

Did you even watch the video? The idea is this is an EDITOR for a GAME. The program is not doing any real work, just sequencing the buttons input by the user. Although, maybe it functions differently for elitists.

Yeah, i know its the real songs, but those things arent notes, there buttons representing the ones on a GH guitar, not notes. If youve played GH, then you would recognize the buttons in order and color.....exactly the same.

For those of you who think this is real you are wrong. If you look closely at the note changes you can see that the program is simply synced up to the song. I am not denying that this may be a real game/program/whatever it is. But I am saying the lead melodies are definitely NOT being produced with this application. The creator simply synced the notes and tempo in the game to the song and then made it look like the game was producing the notes.

Obviously youve never heard or seen stepmania. All it is is you find the correct tempo, then you add the notes of choice where you choose. Its not making the notes by itself, if you look on the video, it says that you can create the notes while the song is playing, quite simple actually. Your probably just mad cuz you didnt think of it first.

Yeah... That's the whole point. Using a Guitar Hero controller, you can put songs into the editor (released recently) and play them in the game (not yet released). What is so hard to comprehend about this? The guy isn't trying to claim that the guy using the controller is making the guitar sounds.

Bryce, if you even had half a brain you'd know that it's completely obvious that the notes aren't being produced by the editor. They are used to represent notes in the actual game. There are five notes. I don't think five notes are going to get you 22 frets and 6 strings. And what about the background music. I don't know how you COULD think that the editor is producing the sound.
