  • Elie Saab is SICK!!! And that is the highest form of a compliment I can give him. SICK as in out of this world amazing!. I'm a fashion designer and I've just discovered his Haute Couture work with the last month and I'm blown out of my mind. He is really so so good. As far as Haute Couture gowns go, he is one of the best. He's as good as Oscar de la Renta, whom I think is the best evening wear designer around. Saab is great and uses the most beautiful fabrics (which helps alot too),

  • I like how they made the lighting -- or I think it's the lighting -- waterlike, on the dress. So when they move, the squiggly lines create flow and more movement to the dresses

  • he really does know what a woman wants and he delivers by the bucket load

  • nice show. It is 2010, what happen to black, asian, latino, indian modesl, and people of color in general....

  • lol..omg....

except 4 Saab ,Mansour Farah..and Reem Acra..how many other Lebanese designers R there out there worth even mentioning ?

    besides...they r all American Lebanese

  • I love this collection.

  • Beautiful designed and made dress however Saab is not much of risk taker nothing realy cutting edge or Avante Garde in his collections.

  • @SUMIAMI

its not about being a risk taker or not ,i think there is a fine line between being too artistic and keeping the dresses wearable ,and at the same time using complicated elegant sophisticated cuts ,highly couture ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, and that's what elie saab and other Lebanese designers are good at >>>>>>>

  • Thats true but designer most deferentiate themselves from other designers. There many other great designers not just Lebaneses that make amazing pieces that are very wearable, You must remember this is haute couture there need to execeptional creativity and dress making hence the term "high dress making."

  • @SUMIAMI

I didn't say that Lebanese designers are the only ones who make amazing pieces ,i said they are good at it ............................. yes i do remember that

haute couture need exceptional creativity and that's exactly what elie saab is doing ...../this is a high dress making !!!!!!!!!!!! not an artistic art exhibition ................ we want to see more fashion and less art .

  • @SUMIAMI i agree haute couture should be high fashion not necessarily avant garde but at least wit edge

  • @SUMIAMI The thing with Elie Saab is the wearabilty, that's why his designs are seen so much on the red carpet, because they're wearable and beautiful. Most, if not all avant garde designs are strictly runway shows or altered for the tameness of the event one would wear it to. i adore his haute-couture collections a lot, it's every woman's dream to wear one of his dresses.

  • @Sumiami: You both make good points, but I think one must remember that avant-garde and haute couture are two different constructs. Yes, there is avant-garde couture. But pushing the boundaries of the sculpture of the garment isn't as important as the luxury of the fabrics, how it falls, lines, etc. for haute couture. Hope this helps?

  • he really should be valentino's designer

  • @mng0603 No he is way better the last Valentino collections wasan`t that good. Elie is good on his own

  • @mng0603 He is his own designer ;) why would he work for someone else. He has celebrities wearing his work all the time :)

  • I think that this is my fav 2010 Hc show.

  • @LaPradaELove I completely agree. These are stunning.

  • @stabarato I care ! :)

  • I love his outfits. My friend is actually good friends with him, most likely I will make my wedding dress from him! :)

  • @anambuttercup1

do you have $100,000 to spend on a dress ?

  • Definitely Not . Since My friend knows him in Lebanon, I highly doubt he'll charge me 100,000 for a dress. :) It's all about connections and who you know, darling. xoxo
