This would've / should've been a good race, I excpect a Cobra to run with a stock Vette, but in this case with their builds it changes the tables and the supercharged Vette should always be ahead. Unfortunately, the Mustang needs to find a way to lose some weight.

The c4 zr1 was one of the fastes production cars in the world for its time. and one of the most electronically advanced in the world. It was the begging of the powerhouses that now exist today. The c4 deserves tons of credit. Without it. the c6 zr1 may have never been built. Wish more people would respect the c4. I prefer driving it over myz06

On the opposite end of the spectrum, there's about 10 cammed C5/C6Z's including 2 making 900rwhp (built/boosted LS7's) I'd still take my cobra any day of the week though!

ok sorry ill be more specific , the civic mugen rr will run the 1/4 in 14.1 stock, the 04 gt mustang did it in 14.8, the 05 lx 6 cyl did it in 15.8 so there are two examples of a stock production civic out running 2 stock production mustangs i could list allot more but the point is there are some years and models of civic that will run the 1/4 faster then some years and models of mustangs. there are however more mustangs that will out run civics but you simply asked when so i listed

Add a camera guy to the Vette. It will make a difference. The Vette will still win, but not as easy. The Cobra held its own considering it weighs 2 or 300lbs more than the Vette and has a smaller motor. I'd take either car, I dont care as long as its American Muscle. To the people that can not read, the Cobra says it has 450hp, not the Corvette, The Corvette says 530, which by the way it's not all about horsepower the Corvette is also way more aerodynamic, then the Mustang is. And gear ratio's what gear they start in, and drivers, and suspension, so it's not all about 450 hp vs 530, Chevy vs Ford. It's about the fun, you had when you were in the car, mashing the gas!

Just get a 6.0L from a Chevy pickup then add L92 heads and a BIG cam, 1 7/8" longtubes, and you have 530-550 horsepower baby, how can any mod motor compete w/ that? thats all under 5k too might I add
@mikesanto70 Cobras pull those numbers ALL the time for under 5K. Full exhaust, headers, CAI, smaller SC pulley, and a dyno tune puts them close to 520RWHP. And thats barley cracking the surface on mods for the 4.6 4V. Dont get me wrong I love both cars and would kill to own either lol.
@GMCMan29 I call bullshit on pulling 520rwhp with a pulley/intake/exhaust/tune 03 Cobra. Most guys with that setup make around 450-470rwhp. You need a ported eaton, nitrous or KB/Whipple to make over 500rwhp.

I have a fast 1999 Vett and also love the Stangs but they are just too heavy to match most of these light weight Vetts. If its only a couple hundred ponds you need 50 hp to even be close and 1000 lbs you are gonna loose with matching hp against a Vett every time. Sorry but thats the truth and I grew up driving a 1966 Shelby Mustang with a supercharger #33 from Shelby American.

@Sk8Fallen any car can give another car a run these days... Out where I'm at in south TX, there's 9-10 second Civic hatches and a built motor turbo S2K running 11.0's. On the opposite end of the spectrum, there's about 10 cammed C5/C6Z's including 2 making 900rwhp (built/boosted LS7's) I'd still take my cobra any day of the week though!

ok sorry ill be more specific , the civic mugen rr will run the 1/4 in 14.1 stock, the 04 gt mustang did it in 14.8, the 05 lx 6 cyl did it in 15.8 so there are two examples of a stock production civic out running 2 stock production mustangs i could list allot more but the point is there are some years and models of civic that will run the 1/4 faster then some years and models of mustangs. there are however more mustangs that will out run civics but you simply asked when so i listed

@MrDishner yeah but u forget about the ppl who drive Cobras who think they have the fastest car in the world till they race somthing else thats boosted. my 99 camaro SS that's procharged owns them..even Termis that are modded ..i have been wanting to race a KB Termi tho..that's my on my cars to beat list..but ppl with Termis need to realize..they still have only 4.6 liters and a crappy eaton S/C...when a Termi try's to step up a class to race a vette or a Procharged LS1...u get these results

@DeAdiSSu3 ...i only run 7 PSi through a twin intetcooled P1 SC Procharger...but i have a good bit of other mods like a custom grind cam made to enhance boosted applications...full exhaust..lots of BMR suspension mods...built auto tans and 3000 TCI stall ..also AEM watermethanol injection...BBK intake...custom dyno tuning..large 315 Mickey Thompson drag radials..theres other mods but thats all the major stuff

Add a camera guy to the Vette. It will make a difference. The Vette will still win, but not as easy. The Cobra held its own considering it weighs 2 or 300lbs more than the Vette and has a smaller motor. I'd take either car, I dont care as long as its American Muscle. Take your ricer, and over priced Euro cars and stick 'em were the sun dont shine.

I have a ws6 slp 402 stroker making 450rwhp 440rwtq naturally asperated runs low 11's burning drag radials, have not lost a race yet on the street one bad ass motor,don't get cought up in all that rwhp talk it's a weight thing and just what happens at the finish line.And this roll racing means nothing if i win by 2-4 cars from a roll i'll destroy em from a dig never seen a quarter mile run from a roll.

To the people that can not read, the Cobra says it has 450hp, not the Corvette, The Corvette says 530, which by the way it's not all about horsepower the Corvette is also way more aerodynamic, then the Mustang is. And gear ratio's what gear they start in, and drivers, and suspension, so it's not all about 450 hp vs 530, Chevy vs Ford. It's about the fun, you had when you were in the car, mashing the gas!

so pathetic, those Fords have nothing for a GM LS series motor, these motors are the best thing next to sliced bread. Just get a 6.0L from a Chevy pickup then add L92 heads and a BIG cam, 1 7/8" longtubes, and you have 530-550 horsepower baby, how can any mod motor compete w/ that? thats all under 5k too might I add

@mikesanto70 Cobras pull those numbers ALL the time for under 5K. Full exhaust, headers, CAI, smaller SC pulley, and a dyno tune puts them close to 520RWHP. And thats barley cracking the surface on mods for the 4.6 4V. Dont get me wrong I love both cars and would kill to own either lol.

@GMCMan29 I call bullshit on pulling 520rwhp with a pulley/intake/exhaust/tune 03 Cobra. Most guys with that setup make around 450-470rwhp. You need a ported eaton, nitrous or KB/Whipple to make over 500rwhp.

I have a fast 1999 Vett and also love the Stangs but they are just too heavy to match most of these light weight Vetts. If its only a couple hundred ponds you need 50 hp to even be close and 1000 lbs you are gonna loose with matching hp against a Vett every time. Sorry but thats the truth and I grew up driving a 1966 Shelby Mustang with a supercharger #33 from Shelby American.
