so can YOUT can get snow leopard on your ibook g4? because i just braught the new sims 3 and i cant play it because i need the snow leopard is that correct? im not sure im new to the mac computers. and it sux because i got my laptop and my game for my birthday and cant play them because i need snow leopard. please help me!?
hey you can also play The Sims 3 on Leopard, i have it and i play it on my iMac 2008 with Leo. I've also an iBook G4 and it CAN?t run Snow Leopard because it doesn't have Intel Processor.
Its great man, fastest computer I have owned to date, does everything I want it to do, and will take Leopard but not Snow Leopard, you need one of those poseur Intel Macs for that.
No because the new ones are Intel based. I had Leopard on my old iBook and it worked fine, but I didn't like how it took 11 GB. So if you DO get an iBook, make sure it has a big hard drive, at least has a 1 GHz processor, and at least 1 GB of RAM--the RAM is REALLY important.
I got my iBook G4 for that very reason, that is still was all Mac inside, to me an Intel based Mac doesn't feel right to me. Would you feel pleased to drive a new Cadillac with a Hyundai engine under the hood? Probably not, but now you know what I feeling about this.
Yes I am glad you also noticed this glaring discrepancy like I have. No matter what side of the computer world one leans to you have to give more credit to the computer maker that sourced all the pieces to their machines, from the OS to all the hardware and the processor. That is why you will never see a Microsoft brand PC, they just don't have the wherewithal to accomplish such a feat. MS couldn't even make a decent MP3 player and video game system that were good, whole computers wouldn't work
it depends on the specs of it, if you have an iBook with a processor that's 867Mhz or faster then you can put Leopard on it, and btw, 10.5.1 is an old update, the newest release is 10.5.2, you need 512MB of RAM or more to run Leopard but i recommend that you buy additional RAM in order to have more programs open at the same time
how did it work out on your iBook G4? I have the exact same system and am considering getting Leopard for it, but I can't answer the question in my head of whether or not the Intel Core Duo would make much of a difference when running Leopard, versus running it on the Power PC G4 iBook.
Especially with Vista. You either have to spend 2 grand on a new system or spend as much upgrading the one you have. What a bad way to make money. Seeing Gates is so rich he's just getting his money and making crappy software. Maybe when he leaves the software will be better. Maybe Vienna will be at least as good as OS 10.0?
No, they will never get the Unix stability of OS X. They can try, but they will never succeed. I can't wait for Vienna to see if they copy the dock or something. Micro$oft....I can't believe I used to love them and hate Apple. How dumb was I?
u r running liger

I agree, i feel the same way with PowerPC macs as opposed to intel macs. "If it's intel, it's not a true Mac"

Maybe up to par with the Mac OS 10.0 beta..or even alpha...I doubt M$ will create an OS as stable as an OS X release.
