  • Sorry, you are completely wrong. She did not died at pneumonia but from bloodpoison which you could read in my biography from 1991. Also that she was not married with that crooke Dandré and her biological father was a Jewish banker.

  • too bad that it's hard to understand her thick

    accent.

  • I have returned!

  • Simply splendid!!!! Perla.

  • Pavlova was not named Prima until 1906.

  • Yes, she was given the stable position of prima in 1906 after performance in Giselle, but in 1905 she already was première danseuse (literally: first dancer, a leading female dancer) ;-)

  • yes - I think I might have put that up on the wiki entry. I like this clip very much Olechka! Brava! You should title all of the photos, I can help you if youd like (some of these of Pavlova and Petipa are actually from my own collection, which I scanned for wikipedia! Im glad to see you put then to good use Olechka!) - is it possible to obtain the MARVELOUS photo of Palvova as Giselle @ 3:50? This is one I dont have - c'est magnifique!

  • Fantastic post Olechka, Pavlowa's jewish heritage was as concealed as Maya Plisetskaya's.She was the first pioneer in bringing the true art of ballet to the world.Russia the cradle of ballet has produced many stars.

  • A montage of exquisite photographs ~ most of which I have not sighted before... thank you so much!

  • And what about Makarova, can you bear her voice, accent and the manner?

  • I love Makarova's voice and manner. She's a definite personality. A bit over the top! I was watching a documentary with her a few days ago and a friend that was walking through the room said, "What's with the scarf, does she not have any hair?"

(the documentary was 25+ years old- last I saw, she still wears a scarf around her head.)

    I thought that was hilarious!

  • I love it.

  • Just beautiful. Thank you.

  • Thank you so very much for sharing this!!!!

    Loves it!♥♥♥

  • Gracias por poner este video!! es hermoso!!

  • What a divine creature. All Russians should be proud of their heritage and the great joy this wonderful person gave to so many.
