I love Makarova's voice and manner. She's a definite personality. A bit over the top! I was watching a documentary with her a few days ago and a friend that was walking through the room said, "What's with the scarf, does she not have any hair?"
(the documentary was 25+ years old- last I saw, she still wears a scarf around her head.)
