At the end of the last Pumpkins show in 2000, James Iha immediately left the stage, and headed straight for his limo and took off without saying a word to any of the band mates. Billy wrote about how pissed he was at this action. There were definitely hard feelings brewing in 2000 and beyond.

he left because billy went behind his back and brought jimmy back into the band without consulting him about it, which really pissed him off!! he told billy he'd stay and finish the machina album and tour but he was out after that!! then billy decided to announce that the band would split at the end of the tour.

billy said it himself on his website bout 4 years after the pumpkins split up. he also said that when james told him he would be leaving, jimmy told billy that they should just continue the pumpkins without him. but billy decided to finish the band instead out of what he called "loyalty" to james having started the band with him. he then decided that had been a mistake and reformed the band with jimmy in 2007.

So, I mean, does that necessarily mean that Jimmy was mad about it? I read in an interview somewhere that he had no hard feelings towards the band, he was just interested in trying some other stuff. Still not saying you're wrong, once again, I'm just extremely interested and want to be totally correct.

jimmy was'nt mad about it, he just felt that the band cud continue without james. james did'nt want to rejoin the band in 2007 when it reformed because he wanted to do other things he said "his head is just not in that place" but he was happy 4 billy and jimmy to restart the band. but he wanted to quit the original band after billy went behind his and darcy's back and brought back jimmy! i guess that was the final insult after all the other shit he'd had to put up with from billy over the years
