It's quicker because it uses EXTREMELY dangerous routes to install apps. The landscape mode is nice. But it will occasionally wipe your iOS off. It did it to me. No recovery menu, no connect to iTunes, no nothing.

hey, i upgraded my 1st gen to 3.0. And it's jailbroken, and it works great. BUT, when i install a theme on winterboard, the background doesn.t change. Like the background behind the icon menu..

I've toggled with all wallpaper options, but it won't work.

hmm reboot ur device then put the userwall paper on winterboard and the transparent dock or something like that . those toghether then go settings, general wallpaper, change the wallpaper and its gotta work

BTW, they are great ALTERNATIVES. Cydia and Icy break a lot of each other's features on 3.0. For instance: Try and use Cydia when Icy is installed and you get a dependency error. Try and use Icy while cydia is installed and you often can't load it.

I prefer Cydia, because it has a larger community and Saurik has done a lot more for the community. Also, there's a lot less riff raff in cydia. Some of the stuff in Icy is absolutely appaling...

Just restore it in iTunes if you need to take it back. It'll reset it back to Factory Settings like nothing has ever happened.

I have also noticed that those and many more programs do not work... There isnt much to do except look at the beautiful features of the 3.0 firmware.

I suggest downgrading to 2.2.1 and jailbreaking (if you use your iphone / touch for apps)

But if you JUST use you iphone / ipod touch for music i would leave it on 3.0.

but also the 3.0 firmware wont be out until mid june. Meaning that it is going to be A LONG TIME until you will be able to use winterboard and other apps on it. :D
