the thing i love most about august is that they have lyrics that aren't about being badass. the fact that you get tatoos and you listen to this shit don't make you bad ass you could have all the peircing in the world, all the tatoos but you'd still be a pussy, its not the things on the person that make the person but the acts the person does, the descisions they make, i find that august displays this perfectly.
I'm so happy with this album. I learn all their songs on the drums and guitar and I'm a big metal fan. They worked really hard on this and made a terrific album. The guitar on this song is the best JB has ever done. I'm stunned.

@danutd94 Lol if ABR is generic, what the fuck are all the other bands.... These are far from generic IMO, not just because I love them. The thing I enjoy about ABR is that #1 They are extremely melodic and have fuckrape breakdowns, #2 the drummer is amazing, and #3 alot of songs dont have a definite chorus, and just keep proceeding into awesomeness.

Science never stops proving anything, it is a quest for knowledge and facts, something that faith, by definition, cannot be. August Burns Red's next album: they are now learning each others instruments and mastering them, as well as playing with a symphony... this should be done
JB! People, I beg you to listen to his guitar playing in this song. Masterful. Don't hear this in the other albs, just saying. It's just like ABR to break off from cliche metalcore, and have br00tal screams but melodic instruments and instrumentals. Love it. (Also epic guitar on Leveler: Cutting the Ties, Salt and Light, 1/16/11!)
If a band doesn't change they'll never attract new fans. The key is to change some to attract new crowds but not change too much and lose fans. ABR did a great job of that with this album. All bands change get over it

I am Catholic, and I am very strong with my Faith, and August Burns Red, Five Fingure Death Punch, Mudvayne, and Killswitch Engage are all my favorite bands. If these bands were "Christian Bands" if thats what you wanna call them, thats not Heavy Metal. I am not saying they have to go out their and start swearing every second of the song, but Fairth + Metal doesn't match up. Just my opinion

@GNASTY575 No doubt, I'm not Christian but I know that Christian metal bands tend to be better for the fact that they write about real emotions and lifestyles from majority of what I listen to, unlike bands who just write lyrics about killing or whores or whatnot just to be "hardcore" or whatever.. There's nothing wrong with them edifying God, I may not agree with some messages but by they stand up for what they really believe in and they wear it as an image, and is not a condition of listening

From what I understand jesus was in fact recorded in the roman census, even non christian historians admit that he existed. whether he was the son of god is what's really debated. Furthermore, many of the events in the bible have a historical basis.

I am the defense saying there is no god. The prosecutor has to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt that a god, in fact, exists. Seeing as you (or anyone else at this time) cannot, you will lose the case. Plain and simple. The defense does not have to prove innocence, the prosecutor has to prove guilt.

The bible says the earth is the center of the solar system...cont.

Who are you to say what is and isn't supposed to be taken literally? Perhaps the resurrection shouldn't be taken literally, or the creation story. It is not either all or nothing, but rather using context surrounding a story must be used for determining if it is literal or not. Without knowing for sure, as is often the case, it is wrong to just cherry pick for the point of defending ones position or attacking another's.
@SeVexed which we now know is not true. The bible speaks of a global flood and no evidence of such an event has been found. As for the origin of life, the bible says god just *poofed* everything into existence. Science has not found the exact answer but using what we now know, a better explanation has been offered instead of just everything magically appearing. For every hole in the scientific explanation of life in this universe, there are 100 holes in the religious explanation.

This whole religion debate pisses me right off. It's just an influence for music or a way to live your life nothing more. The thing I enjoy about ABR is that #1 They are extremely melodic and have fuckrape breakdowns, #2 the drummer is amazing, and #3 alot of songs dont have a definite chorus, and just keep proceeding into awesomeness.

@TrSYeTi Those are not facts. Science does not end. Evidence and data are constantly tested and re-tested. When new material is discovered, that is put through the scientific process. Science never stops proving anything, it is a quest for knowledge and facts, something that faith, by definition, cannot be. You can believe whatever you want, it is your choice, but please, do not try and tell me your faith is proof of a god. It's not and never will be.

The band says it a lot in interviews, they want people to know they are Christian & I guess by people knowing it would make it a form of 'choice listening' instead of forcing a belief down another's throat. One has got to be a fool(no offence) to not see the positivity and reference to scripture in their music.

JB! People, I beg you to listen to his guitar playing in this song. Masterful. Don't hear this in the other albs, just saying. It's just like ABR to break off from cliche metalcore, and have br00tal screams but melodic instruments and instrumentals. Love it. (Also epic guitar on Leveler: Cutting the Ties, Salt and Light, 1/16/11!)

If a band doesn't change they'll never attract new fans. The key is to change some to attract new crowds but not change too much and lose fans. ABR did a great job of that with this album. All bands change get over it

Somehow I don't think they'd like if strictly Christians and no one else went to their concerts, most people who like them don't bow to their god, or any god for that matter, so emphasising that they're edifying god may make them look bad to their most likely audience. I am Catholic, and I am very strong with my Faith, and August Burns Red, Five Fingure Death Punch, Mudvayne, and Killswitch Engage are all my favorite bands. If these bands were "Christian Bands" if thats what you wanna call them, thats not Heavy Metal. I am not saying they have to go out their and start swearing every second of the song, but Fairth + Metal doesn't match up. Just my opinion

However, they are incredible musicians, and religion shouldn't bear any sway in opinion of their music. I like some satanic bands, but as long as I don't worship what they say, and just enjoy the music, it's just enjoying the creation.

@GNASTY575 No doubt, I'm not Christian but I know that Christian metal bands tend to be better for the fact that they write about real emotions and lifestyles from majority of what I listen to, unlike bands who just write lyrics about killing or whores or whatnot just to be "hardcore" or whatever.. There's nothing wrong with them edifying God, I may not agree with some messages but by they stand up for what they really believe in and they wear it as an image, and is not a condition of listening

Faith is fine, as long as it's a personal belief, but once you start arguing that some guy 2000 years ago is supposedly the son of god (who also happens to be his own father.....never could wrap my head around that one) you have to provide some shred of evidence. If you can't, your argument is invalid. If I said I have faith that there's a dancing unicorn on Mars , would you believe me?

From what I understand jesus was in fact recorded in the roman census, even non christian historians admit that he existed. whether he was the son of god is what's really debated. Furthermore, many of the events in the bible have a historical basis.

@SeVexed You are wrong. The burden of proof lies with the one making a claim. Think of it like a court case. You are the prosecution trying to argue for the existence of a god. I am the defense saying there is no god. The prosecutor has to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt that a god, in fact, exists. Seeing as you (or anyone else at this time) cannot, you will lose the case. Plain and simple. The defense does not have to prove innocence, the prosecutor has to prove guilt.

@SeVexed But that's exactly why science is MUCH more credible than religion. New evidence comes to light everyday and it is tested against previous hypotheses. If the new evidence holds up against the hypothesis, it reaffirms the fact, if not, a new hypothesis is formed using the new information. Much of the bible contains contradictions and flat out false history. The bible states PI is exactly 3. We know now that is not true. The bible says the earth is the center of the solar system...cont.

Who are you to say what is and isn't supposed to be taken literally? Perhaps the resurrection shouldn't be taken literally, or the creation story. What you are doing is cherry picking your information in order for it to fit the mold of your specific beliefs. It's either all or nothing, you can't have it both ways.

It is not either all or nothing, but rather using context surrounding a story must be used for determining if it is literal or not. Without knowing for sure, as is often the case, it is wrong to just cherry pick for the point of defending ones position or attacking another's.

As for the origin of life, the bible says god just *poofed* everything into existence. Science has not found the exact answer but using what we now know, a better explanation has been offered instead of just everything magically appearing. For every hole in the scientific explanation of life in this universe, there are 100 holes in the religious explanation.
