And so the guy becomes The Human Sequencer, spraying endless 32nd-note ostinatos with his superpower of circular, nay, Moebius-strip breathing. Amazing. And this isn't the best thing I've heard by 'em, either.
@trumpetplayer818 By that logic, I can too, therefore your last comment defined hypocrisy. Ironic? Maybe. But at least I can admit to being a hypocrit.
Repetitive and obnoxious. Amazing, but play some different notes. I love N.O. Jazz. But this is annoying. But that's still something 99% of trumpet players can't do. So build off that. Play something more exciting. Like a jazz version of moto perpetuo or something.
So now I know trombone shorty can circular breathe? I was hoping for some more jazz playing than showing off and showboating. And it's a Monette mouthpiece and trumpet for those who are asking
I was in this audience hesitantly BEFOREHAND. Then found myself at the set at the Mural Starbucks stage. Thank you Bumbershoot...and thank you Shorty and band. You inspired some young people I know that day. Also thanks for the signing.
SWEET MOTHER OF GOD! That guy is amazing! Awesome band. @funky420full: being a NOLA native and now living in Seattle, it's really great to have your local talent visit us. You have no idea..thanks for the loan.
I find that with KEXP, for every 20 videos 19 of the bands just utterly suck... and then there's one... that is simply amazing... that award goes to you guys! Very sweet! Sounds great!
@scottholpainen Ok, so maybe I exaggerated a bit. I am a lover of all kinds of music, and a songwriter myself, and wish anybody the best if they are chasing their dreams. However, that being said, there have been a lot of lousy songs on here (as there are in any venue or artist showcase). That being said, I still very much enjoy sifting through the videos and am overjoyed when I stumble onto a group of truly talented individuals, as in this case.
@llukeknecht123 and to continue from above... I believe that a rapper who doesn't like rock, can listen to rock and pick a good tune from a poorly written one, or a insane guitar player can listen to a horn section and decipher what's well done and what'snot... this is my basic premise for my initial opinion. In regards however to videos themselves... which I know nothing about the video or editting process... I would say the videography is top notch... you guys do a great job
I was there when they recorded this! Bumbershoot was great last year
