Guys!!! Seriously!!! this was done back in 1956!! They didn't know that the radiation would be lethal!! Atomic bombs were still in its infancy. They had to do this so they could know what would happen if it was dropped on top of your city. Also, the majority of you people are stupid. You can't change the past. It's funny cause in 1937 Soviet scientists already found out that radiation is dangourus to human beings though they never ever performed tests on living subjects except rats and mice and two or three cases with dogs. Soviet Union also never used cats for any kind of experiments cause they where viewed as pets and equal to humans

When my father was a writer for the Indianapolis Star, they had him cover a story in Nevada where they would send troops in right after an atomic blast for military combat training. He said he met these guys, and they were all sick. They would build a fake city, blow it up with a nuke, and send in troops to learn about combat in a blast zone... I wonder if the government helped support these men during the radiation sickness they invariably faced...
