  • i always felt bad for smoking marijuana but know that i know Jesus did it, its all good :p

  • Spikenard was in the anointing oil as well. It's still presented as the anointing oil by some churches. Its flowers are a perfume, but the oil comes from the root, which is a drug root, said to be like valium. The word Narthex, church entrance way, shares the common root word.

  • so when i smoked weed for the first time and i thought i saw speaking with God telling me that i was a sinner and i need to repent and accept the holy spirit was real?

  • matthew 3:11i indeed baptize you unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mighter than i whoes shoes i am not worthy to bear:he shall baptize you with the holy ghost, and with fire; this is Jesus that does the work not the oil let us not loose our focus. its not what goes into our mouths that defile us but what comes out thanks terry.

  • keep smokin that holy herb

  • did he say exodus 3:23????

    its not in the book

  • @popcornministry No he said Exodus 30:23 KJV "Take thou also unto thee principal spices, of pure myrrh five hundred shekels, and of sweet cinnamon half so much, even two hundred and fifty shekels, and of sweet calamus two hundred and fifty shekels" and its the calamus that MIGHT translate to be cannabis but of course according to which biased side ur on youll either believe one way or another.

  • Through comparative etymological study, Bennett documented that in the Old Testament and in its Aramaic translation, the Targum Onculos, hemp is referred to as kaneh bosm, which is also rendered in traditional Hebrew as kannabos or kannabus. The root "kan" in this construction means "reed" or "hemp", while "bosm" means "aromatic". This word appeared in Exodus 30:23, Song of Songs 4:14., Isaiah 43:24, Jeremiah 6:20, Ezekiel 27:19.

  • A British physician, Dr. C. Creighton, concluded in 1903 that several references to marijuana can be found in the Old Testament. "honeycomb" referred to in the Song of Solomon, 5:1, and the "honeywood" in I Samuel 14: 25-45" (Consumer Reports 1972).

  • Response to willower1:

The priests might not have had to smoke the holy anointing oil to get the same sacramental effects as are obtained from smoking the leaf.

The active ingredient (THC) in the oil, rubbed on the skin, might have penetrated the skin and gone into the blood stream that way (instead of being inhaled).

This is the same principle as in the use of nicotine patches and other pharmaceutical formulations which rely on trans-dermal (through the skin) delivery of active ingredient.

  • Wow, someone sounds a little cranky.

  • Stop being so mean and angry. You'll live longer. These aren't the only arguments. The best argument is that I'm an adult, liquer is legal, Cannabis has been scientifically proven to be much safer than alcohol as a recreational drug, people are being senselessly thrown into jail over stupid policy, and legalization would make for a better and freer nation. Their desire to use it as a religuous sacrament is just as valid as anyone else who wants to use wine or peyote as a sacrament btw.

  • i believe us "stupid stoners " BURNED YOU!!!!

  • You didnt burn shit gray haha... what im trying to say is: Are you really trying to make cannabis legal so that you can anoint yourself with it? Use your head a little bit, and try another arguement

  • i believe we did burn shit, as we made counterpoints and backed up sed counterpoints with refrence source, and we never once said that we were going to use it to annoint ourselves we just simply stated it WAS mentioned in the bible and most likely used in the biblical era for annointment purposes. why dont you use your fucking EYES and read the comments before you chime in with an idiot response and like liberal said this definantly isnt our main argument dumbass. lol nice try though :)

  • Another example is the modern tradition of Santo Daime, originating in South America but also established in The Netherlands. Which uses cannabis and ayahuasca as sacraments in their religious services.

Search for Santo Daime in Wikipedia or the keywords Santo Daime, Amsterdam for YouTube videos about this tradition.

  • Do a search for Religious Freedom Restoration Act in Wikipedia.

I got to this video doing a search with the words cannabis, oil, anointing. And only 4 videos turned up.

Many websites have emerged addressing the connection between natural and other psychoactives and the origins of world religions (consider the use of wine in the earliest Christian congregations, as documented in Paul's letters).

  • Can anyone comment on how the Religious Freedom Restoration Act might apply to the possession and use of the anointing oil?

  • I believe Jesus used cannabis as well. Based on the fact that at age 12 Jesus left home to travel to the Eastern regions for proper illumination.

And just to add some more information, Cannabis is originaly from Afghanistan and the Himalaya regions where Tibetan monks (probablly the teachers of Jesus) smoked real high doses of Cannabis before their religious sessions.

The war on drugs is a war against Christ.

    Literally.
