  • lol look at bonzo and JPJ at 3:15. priceless-all the gigglin and that.

    what a band

  • FINALLY! I've been trying to find the recording of this part. For the longest, I thought they were doing a mash-up of Achilles Last Stand and Going to California. Either way, the Scott McKenzie cover is awesome.

  • what is the song that starts at about 3:15

  • San Fransico by Scott Mckenzie

  • it's just the same song but with a groooovey riff

  • (strung out ) if you got the movie you can see the titles

  • its dazed and confused.... long extended the best version imo

  • He's singing part of Going to California.. If your going to San Fransico..

  • starting at 3:05 thats the most chill riffs if ever heard i would listen to that all day if it was implanted into my brain

  • when i used to have this cd in my car i would replay this part over and over again.. and orgasm everytime.

  • What is that chord he plays for the BA!BA!BA!

Is that a B? How fingered? thanks

I am an old man but LOVE LED ZEP !!!!

I first saw this movie in 1978

  • yes it is a b chord.

  • satanic

  • Four young men, humble beginnings, came to be the ulimate in rock royalty. Bare bones stage production, but majestic. No other way to put it. Thanks for posting this. I only have it on VHS.

  • 0:25 - 0:51 = fkn awesome.

  • JPJ was the guy always in the shadow who kept the band togheter .

  • He was the quiet calm one :)

  • you are so right!!.....forget the swank and pomp that the others revel in. It was jones who was responsible for 95% of all the best zep riffs. The other 5% were stolen from other groups.

  • jimmy's solo's were so bad ass that it was easy to overlook jpj. thats why hes so damn underrated

but listen to the backfround, hes followin page closely and doing his own thing at the same time. they were just so damn awesome

  • what type of les paul is jimmy page using in that concert??

  • he always used a les paul standard. gibson of course.

  • not always....

  • oh?

  • At 4:34, is Jimmy using a Wah-wah pedal to change the tone?

  • yes, he is simply shifting through each position on the pedal as he plays

  • Jimmy Page is so f-in awesome, he has his own scale...I can't ever stop listening to this music. I went to their last concert. I was 17 years old. Now I can ony watch these videos, but I do have my memories. Like I have said before, I would give my wedding ring to go back in time and watch another LZ concert (probably do what I could to get back stage and climb up the leg of RP too =P)

  • ...strung out....wow

  • ok wtf 25?

  • it means 25 hours a day.

  • my favorite part is 0:01 - 9:45

  • this has to be the greatest improvisation of dazed and confused ever. Jimmy kicks ass with his gibson les paul!!!

  • 1:30-5:58 Epic....Incredible. Words cannot describe how amazing this was........

  • 3:10 to 6:00 is my absolute favorite part of all their live shows.

Page's guitar is so smooth, yet so mystifying and a little creepy. Jones and Bonham seem to be just where they belong in this kind of improv section. And Plant's lyrical performance is as haunting as anything I've heard him sing.

Absolutely amazing. If only I was born in 1962 and not 1992...

  • The violin bow part was absotlutely beautiful, ethereal, and brilliant!

  • at about the fourth minute the song sounds familiar, or at least the lyrics do but i don't know what it is called.

    Led Zeppelin is awesome!!!

  • all of this is dazed and confused... they usually improvised a lot when playing this song

  • the mamas and papas did a song in the late 60s called are you goin to san fransisco or somethin like that and they added that little quote but the guitar is all jimmy!!!

  • I don't know why people thumbs down him. Hes right, its san fransico (the artist's name escapes my head at the moment). But only the lyrics, the guitar riff was jimmy's own "oriental thing" and the original song has a completley different rythmn section.

  • thanks, thats what i meant when i said "at least the lyrics do"

  • I have some nice videos up and recently did a collaboration with uberpirox if you want to check them out. You might like them, just take a look, the collab is in my favorites.

  • ashame bonham died =[

  • at 6:50 when i saw this for the first time...7:20 ....my head exploded. How the hell can he play that way? the strings are broken! O_O

I always remember that. I love Jimmy Page ♥

  • i remembere my surprise when i saw this for the first time too... amazing!

  • using any bow like that would just destroy it. he probably had a bunch of cheap ones on hand or just kept replacing the horsehair on a really nice one.

you're right, though, that is totally badass.

  • after 3:10 this is just SICK

  • you're right! He's fucking awesome there! I wish I would have been in these years... But I'm only 16..

  • im 14, I wish I couldve gone there though

  • 4:20...................probably one of john paul jones' outfits of the tour

  • Oh those Devil People

  • no one can ever be compared to Jimmy Page, this version of dazed and confused is a masterpiece

  • + 1000

  • + ∞ :D

  • jimmy page is go almighty

  • Jimmy Paige has to be up with there with any musician EVER who masted his instrument so well as is displayed here. This was when he was at his height of his talent. (IMHO) This video clip above is a treasure in that it is one of the fastest finger movement you'll ever see on a guitar.

He never could repeat the speed here soon after. Thanks to uploader for this.
