It's very much, move shoot, however if you like the D-pad + stylus control it can be lots of fun with many new types of enemies and powerups to make it interesting.

The idea is that you move around and shoot things, collect gemos in order to upgrade your drone, and unlock new levels. It gets hardcore when you're at 5 or 6 million and trying to survive.

Yup. I've unlocked all galaxies, except those accesible through wi-fi. Go to Kappa Galaxy and then to Surphex, it sucks. Yeah Beta is fun. I got 28,994,600 on Claduo.

You should try Brain Challenge. Way better then Brain Age. I actually have this game in the video as well. In fact I have every DS game released to date. Just dont have time to play them all. Ive been playing Castlevania Portrait of Ruin. Almost got it 100 %

i own the wii version of GW:Galaxies and it is awesome, i actually play it everyday when i get home from work. i was considering getting if for my ds lite, but after watching this vid.... i don't think it will be very comfortable. i like the analog scheme much better and seems to me that for the ds, we can't rack any high scores on it....

If you have the Wii version of Geometry Wars: Galaxies and a Nintendo DS, you can download the full version of Retro Evolved to your DS.

Look in the Geometry Wars Galaxies Wii manual and you will see how to do it. Yes, the demo gets erased if you shut down the DS, but I have left my DS in standby (shell closed) for up to a week.

I wasn't crashing into the walls, I was deliberately using them for cover; enemies can't come from behind if you're against the wall, and you take no damage.

Also, I was holding the DS at a very, very awkward angle for the camera, which definitely made it hard to play. The controls were very good.

Using the wall for 'cover' won't help you much when spawns get a a little more pro style

If you played geometry wars evolved on x360 you'll know why :)

no, he was playing retro evolved which doesnt have the drone in it. the drone is only in the story/campaign/whatever mode.

They need to come out with the xbox 360 version. Because I'm sorry you wont get past 200k with the DS and the crappy D pad for movement. You need a joy stick.

Game looks bad on the wii (as far as moving and shooting) and far, far worse on the DS. Cool video, but the game dosen't even do it for me on those consoles.

BTW, my high score on xbl is 9mil, not that it means anything just that I have spent my fair share of time on the game.

Only 9 million? I got over 11 million on the NDS version. and the controls are actually great, you must be a sucky gamer if you can't adapt to new control styles.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Wii version when I tried it at E3. Definitely a good choice. 4 player multiplayer, too!

Also, the Wii version can send a demo of the DS version to the DS! I believe it includes multiplayer as well, so if you've got a DS, there's advantages to the Wii version.
