Few videos recorded with an electronic sound/keyboard make me have chills down my spine. You have accomplished just that. Please come visit me, have a beer, and christen my Clavinova.
@muhhuh2 Thanks. Take all of the electronics out of the equation and nothing surpasses witnessing a live performance. However, if you record the instrument then the difference between real and electronic narrows considerably.
Watched many of your videos in the past 15minutes! They're amazing! How you only have 5000 subscribers I have no idea, but you definitely got an extra one from me! :) Keep it up you have some biiig talent :)
You are a 'well' of talent!! Damn incredible spot on version of this song.!! Played it live in 1990 to over 3,000 people at a concert on the east coast with an eight piece band. Yet, you made it 'big' just with a simple piano. Beautiful. I will be learning this arrangement along with 5 other songs you have done. Still love to hear you do Sailing by Christopher Cross, no one on You tube can, but you could Paul. Classic piece right up your alley.
Your arrangements are amazing! I hope you're performing somewhere. Hal Leonard publishing should just hire you to write arrangements because many of theirs are seriously lacking the flair of yours
@bherber Thank you. I'm performing here on YouTube and am very happy with the steadily growing audience my videos are getting. I did have a good go at getting H&L's attention in the earlier part of last year. I'm working with Seolta publishing now and a lot has been done in just a few months.
Great work I'm a fan of yours. My two favorite songs that you cover are Lovely day and Not in love (10 cc). Do you have any songs of your own, if so which are your favorites?
Have you ever covered any Floyd Cramer songs? He was a great influence on many players through the decades. Also one who was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame the same year he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. A very elite group. His sound on the keys was instantly recognizable. Most keyboard players are largely ignored but every once in a while somebody comes along and refuses to be ignored. That was Mr. Floyd Cramer. You remind me of him!
Not quite sure how it fits to the lyrics you posted, though - singing along to it I get the second verse coming in at 1:35 (with what would be an epic piano accompaniment), but it gets cut short - did you jump straight from the first chorus to the break?
@countertony I tend to just play what sounds about right on the piano without reference to the words. It would be longer and have much repetition. I paste the words mainly as search engine fodder.
I actually think this song may work better as an instrumental! I think Supertramp added too many intstuments in the original, the beautiful tune suffered as a result.
I've always thought about covering this song on my channel, sussing out other versions on youtube 1st.. Althought i can see you play it in a different key then the original, it sounds fantastic and you do it justice :)!!!!! thanks for giving me some ideas!
@88GTi Thanks - they said they will take about two weeks to make a decision. The encouraging thing is that the person doing the audition had already seen some of my videos here on YouTube - which makes things easier thanks to everyone's kind comments and large numbers of views.
PLEASE RESPOND Mr. how long have you been playing?

Really nice but his version of Stars from Simply Red is way better..

@Beun007 I disagree. It's a very good cover but I think Africa is the best cover ever.

@bherber Sometimes I'm thinking they'd do that on purpose, so that the "copies" do not sound too original. Yes, I'm serious.
